The City of Sunnyvale is excited to announce an opportunity for dedicated individuals to fill (2) regular full-time Maintenance Worker 2 positions in the Street Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department. This position plays a key role in supporting the upkeep of the City's streets and traffic safety-related infrastructure. We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented individuals with strong customer service skills to join our team.

Responsibilities include performing a range of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks, such as repairing and maintaining traffic signs, applying roadway striping, installing pavement markings, and removing graffiti. These positions also perform traffic control, completing asphalt and minor concrete repairs, and carrying out other right-of-way maintenance duties as needed.

Education and Experience

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:

A high school diploma or GED equivalent, AND

Six months of experience performing duties comparable to those of the City's Maintenance Worker I classification.

The City/County Association of Governments (C/CAG) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior C/CAG Transportation Program Specialist to perform a variety of program administrative and technical support functions related to C/CAG transportation and land use programs.  

 

As part of an interdisciplinary team and under general supervision, this role involves managing and executing high-level, specialized projects. Responsibilities include planning, developing, and implementing countywide programs and policies, particularly those related to C/CAG initiatives. The role demands providing expert-level analysis and technical support on related legislation, along with overseeing a range of complex C/CAG programs and projects. The candidate will serve as a subject matter authority in transportation program areas, demonstrating broad expertise. 

 

The Senior C/CAG Transportation Program Specialist is the lead or specialist level class in the C/CAG Program Specialist Series. In the lead assignment, incumbents provide direction to C/CAG Program Specialist I/II staff, including assigning, directing, and reviewing their work. At this level, incumbents may provide supervision and leadership on a project or program basis to consultants/contractors, volunteers, and other staff including assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of professional staff. In the specialist assignment, incumbents work on dedicated projects or the largest, most visible, complex, and political assignments within the program. 

 

This position will support key program areas, including airport land use compatibility planning, transportation demand management (TDM) policy, community-based transportation planning, and active transportation (bicycle and pedestrian) programs.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to independently perform the full scope of required duties.
• Familiarity with making presentations and recommendations to governmental agency boards, commissions, and committees.
• Familiarity with public outreach and engagement processes or gathering input from the public.
• Knowledge of bike or pedestrian plans.
• Knowledge of transportation planning, including Transportation Demand Management practices and policies.

Primary responsibilities and duties of the Senior C/CAG Transportation Program Specialist may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist with the development and implementation of transportation plans, policies, programs, and projects, and the linkage of transportation, land use, and environmental goals.
• Coordinate with C/CAG partner agencies on reports, joint studies, and projects.
• Assist with preparing, updating, and administering planning documents, grants, funding recommendations, and projects.
• Act as liaison and participate in a variety of local and regional committees/task forces related to transportation, housing, and/or land use planning.
• Maintain contract agreements, review invoices, and track budgets for C/CAG projects.
• Track and analyze proposed policies from other government agencies and legislations related to transportation and housing.
• Coordinate the development of State and Federal transportation improvement plans and programs at a county level.
• Oversee request for proposal (RFP)/request for qualification (RFQ) processes.
• Monitor the regional transportation planning and delivery process for conformance with State and Federal requirements.
• Establish, maintain, purge, and run reports on various office files including minutes from public or private meetings and hearings.
• Draft documents such as C/CAG Board Resolutions, Board and committee staff reports, consultant contracts and agreements, and RFP/RFQs.
• Prepare, or coordinate with consultants to prepare staff recommendations on consistency determination to committees and C/CAG Board on referrals for airport/land use compatibility in accordance with C/CAG airport land use compatibility plan (ALUCP) policies.
• Assist with management of C/CAG’s Transportation Demand Management (TDM) policy.
• Staff various committee meetings including coordinating the distribution of agenda packets and preparation of meeting minutes.
• Set up meetings, coordinate attendee calendars, make reservations, and set up meeting rooms.
• Promote bicycle and pedestrian mobility and safety.
• Recommend policies and programs to promote and enhance active transportation.
• Maintains awareness of current federal, state, and local regulations as it pertains to transportation.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, City/Regional Planning, Traffic Engineering, Environmental Policy or Studies, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Political Science, Public Administration, or a closely related field. A master’s degree is preferred but not required.

Knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of transportation planning, city/regional, and environmental planning or environmental science, engineering, financing and/or policy.  
• Principles and practices of program and project planning, management, implementation, and evaluation.
• Research methods and techniques, including conducting or participating in planning studies.
• Transportation Demand Management practices and policies.
• Principles, practices, trends, and technical information related to assigned program areas. 
• Principles and practices related to contract management.
• Pertinent federal, state, regional, and local laws, codes, regulations, and requirements.

Skill/Ability to:

• Plan, implement and evaluate assigned programs, projects, and activities.
• Supervise permanent, temporary, contract, and volunteer staff on a project basis.
• Serve as subject matter expert in assigned areas.
• Work with a wide variety of people at all levels, including those from government, business, private and non-profit agencies, community groups, and the public.
• Gather, compile, analyze, and interpret data and propose solutions.

The City of Dixon is looking to fill one full-time, regular vacancy for the position of Wastewater System Operator I/II and to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. This position will perform the operation and maintenance of the City of Dixon's ("City"), Grade III, activated sludge wastewater facility, laboratory facilities, industrial pre-treatment program related property and equipment.

This position includes field, laboratory and office activities. About the Position:  The Seasonal Facilities Open Space Technician is part of the Facilities & Fleet Department and assists with routine and nonroutine repairs and improvements at Midpen’s Administrative Office, field offices, and residences. This position works closely under the guidance of the facilities team performing preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor improvement projects. This position is also responsible for operating hand and power tools to do semi-skilled carpentry, construction tasks. The position will require either knowing or having the aptitude to learn basic painting, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry tasks while assisting in the capacity of a helper and must also be able to demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude. Additional duties include cleanup, routine maintenance in buildings and restrooms, and other tasks as required. Coveralls & personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided. Seasonal employees are provided with a uniform. Start date will be in early July 2026 and the selected individual will continue working through January 2027. There is no seasonal housing available.

Requirements:  Basic requirements include high school diploma or G.E.D.; possession of a valid California driver’s license; skills to perform basic construction and maintenance assignments; ability to perform manual labor requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting; and the ability to work in, or around, poison oak. Highly desirable traits include experience in construction, maintenance, and/or repair of buildings, structures and/or related facilities, and/or prior work experience in a park, forest, or public recreation area involving work with equipment and hand tools used in park/facilities maintenance.  Candidates selected for the position will be required to successfully pass and obtain a certification in Basic First Aid/CPR, AED for Lay Responders.   

Schedules: This is a full-time (preferred), Monday through Friday position working on a 9/80 schedule, with occasional weekend and holiday work as needed. Seasonal assignments will not exceed 950 hours or 7 months, whichever comes first, and do not include benefits. Seasonal Open Space Technicians are expected to work a minimum of 6 consecutive months.

Working Conditions: While most work will focus on the maintenance and operations of Midpen’s Administrative Office, responsibilities will also extend to project work at field offices and facilities, district owned and managed residential housing, historic properties, ranch infrastructure, and public buildings such as Midpen’s Daniels Nature Center. When conducting field assignments, work may include traversing rough, difficult terrain in inclement or hot weather with exposure to poison oak, wildlife and rodent inhabitants.  Duties will include building and facility work that will require climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.  Ideal candidates will be comfortable working in these types of conditions, as well as in an office environment. Positions in this classification must possess the ability to lift and carry materials and objects weighing up to 60 pounds and must possess the ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds, with the use of proper equipment. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical skills, certifications, experience, and professional attributes suited to complete a full range of journey level mechanic work by performing preventative maintenance, repair and overhaul of gasoline, diesel, alternative fuel, hybrid and electric, heavy duty vehicles and equipment that includes but not limited to fire engines and pump systems, fire trucks including large trailer aerial ladder trucks, gang mowers, aerial work platforms, and construction equipment such as loaders, graders, dump trucks, back hoes, asphalt trucks, trailers, rollers, street sweepers, air compressors, and off road equipment.
