HOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This position will work approximately 12-20 hours per week.  The candidate will have hands-on learning and work experience at San Rafael City Hall and outreach in the community.

This is a temporary position and hours worked may not exceed 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 thru June 30).

Finance Department - The Finance Department has over 100 employees who are dedicated to serve the needs of our customers throughout the City of San Jose. The Housing Department's mission is to strengthen and revitalize our community through housing and neighborhood investment. The position of Administrative Analyst is a fully qualified journey-level professional classification. Administrative Analyst is distinguished from Management Analyst in that the Management Analyst has a higher level of managerial, budgetary and program administration responsibility. Under the direction of the Director of Public Works or their designee, the Management Analyst I performs a variety of journey-level, professional and technical administrative duties in support of Public Works. Work assigned may be in a specific program area and/or to perform administrative duties in support of a division of Public Works or the department as a whole, including research and analysis. The Management Analyst I plays a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of the Public Works department and will be responsible for:

• Asset Management and Tracking: Facilitating the acceptance of new streets and utilities into the City’s inventory and maintaining meticulous records of maintenance activities through ArcGIS. 

• Optimizing Fleet Operations: Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and requirements such as annual use reporting, emissions, registration, vehicle/fuel procurement and inventory systems. 

• Public Communications, Marketing, and Stakeholder Outreach: Assisting in the development and execution of public communication strategies, marketing campaigns, and stakeholder outreach initiatives to enhance community engagement and awareness of Public Works programs and projects.

• Department and Division Budgeting: Collaborating with departmental stakeholders to assist in budget preparation, tracking, forecasting, and contributing to the development and publication of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) bi-annually.

• Sanitary Sewer System Program Management: Supporting the management and implementation of the Sanitary Sewer System program by overseeing tasks such as managing and updating sewer lateral ordinances, updating sewer rates, calculating and tracking Equivalent Dwelling Units (EDUs), and updating the Sanitary System Management Plan and annual reporting Plan in compliance with regulatory requirements.

 The Assistant City Clerk’s Office/City Manager’s Office is recruiting to fill a Deputy City Clerk.  The Position: 
 The Deputy City Clerk will report to the Assistant City Clerk and perform highly complex administrative and analytical work. This position will assist the Assistant City Clerk in the administration of the City Clerk's Office. The incumbent will assist in developing, implementing and coordinating projects, programs and procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with Public Record Act (PRA) requests and this position will also support projects and programs within the City Manager’s Office. Incumbents in this position will have considerable independence in making judgment related to their assignments and must handle situations with great sensitivity, tact and diplomacy. May supervise or act as lead worker to staff involved in management activities.  
 
As a member of the City's unclassified service, this is an "at-will" position. The incumbent serves at the discretion of the City Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any education or experience equivalent to:

• An Associate of Arts degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field; and

Desirable Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or possession of a Certified Municipal Clerk certification or required within two (2) years of hire.

LICENSE

The Position: Under supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher I) or general supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher II)  the incumbent performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, evaluating, prioritizing, and relaying calls for emergency and non-emergency public safety assistance; dispatches appropriate units and coordinates response of emergency personnel; maintains, processes, and distributes police records; operates a variety of telecommunications equipment, including radio, telephone, and CAD systems; and performs a wide variety of specialized clerical duties involved in the preparation, maintenance, and release of materials related to law enforcement activities.
