The Geotechnical Section of Planning and Building Department in San Mateo County is looking for college interns to join the data digitization project that is going to be launched in June. With general direction, a Senior Building Inspector performs complex inspections at various stages of construction, alterations, and repair of industrial, commercial, residential and public building sites making sure construction is safe; assigns work to, monitors performance of, and assists with the most complex inspections; ensures conformance with approved plans, specifications, standards, permits, licensing, and safety standards; performs basic plan checking of projects, provides a variety of information to property owners and contractors; provides guidance to the Permit Technicians.

This position is responsible for design, configuration, maintenance, and fault isolation of the County enterprise network including: network security, routing, switching, wireless LAN, WAN, VOIP, Virtual Private Networking, testing, and repairing network infrastructure. This individual may exercise technical and functional direction over lower-level staff and may also provide training on a project basis.
