Working under the direction of the Facilities, Fleet, and Projects Division Manager, this role supports the administrative coordination and systems that help our libraries and vehicles operate smoothly across 13 community library locations and administrative sites. The Program Coordinator helps coordinate facilities, fleet, and project-related workflows, maintains tracking systems and documentation, supports vendor and County partner coordination, and prepares summaries and reports that inform planning and decision-making.

 

Depending on assignment level, responsibilities may include coordinating service requests and projects, maintaining records and dashboards, supporting facilities, fleet, and furniture assessment processes, managing inventory and fleet-related documentation, and helping refine administrative workflows that improve efficiency and consistency across the system.

 

These two positions play an important role in supporting staff and the public by ensuring our library spaces and vehicles are safe and well supported—advancing our mission to strengthen communities by creating spaces and supporting outreach efforts for learning, growth, and connection.

 

NOTE: Appointments made at the Program Coordinator I or Program Coordinator II level will depend on qualifications and experience.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coordinate and track facilities, fleet, inventory, and project-related requests from intake through completion.

• Maintain accurate logs, records, dashboards, and tracking tools that support the Division’s daily operations and long-term planning.

• Coordinate communication, scheduling, and documentation with library staff, County Facilities, Fleet Management, Purchasing, Risk Management, vendors, and consultants.

• Support facilities, fleet, and furniture assessment workflows by coordinating timelines, gathering documentation, and preparing summaries for review.

• Maintain project files, service records, contracts, amendments, delivery documentation, and closeout materials.

• Support procurement-related administrative processes by coordinating quotes, tracking orders and deliveries, and maintaining records.

• Maintain inventory and asset tracking systems; coordinate surplus documentation and reconciliation with Finance and Purchasing.

• Support fleet administration by coordinating service scheduling, tracking usage, and maintaining fleet-related records.

• Prepare narrative and statistical reports, summaries, and dashboards related to operational activity and trends.

• Document and help improve administrative workflows, templates, and procedures to increase consistency and efficiency.

• Coordinate meetings, walkthroughs, and follow-up actions; disseminate information to appropriate stakeholders.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

About the Position: The Library Activity Leader supports the Makerspace at the Downtown Library and potentially at the library branches and outreach events. They work with the library staff to create and deliver a variety of programs for children related to robotics, coding, and other STEM education concepts.  They may support additional Makerspace programming related to 3D printing, laser cutting, Cricut, machine sewing, and art projects.

About the Position

The Public Works Department is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern with an interest in engineering, project management, and public service. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in local government operations and civil engineering under general supervision and mentorship from professional staff.

The selected intern will assist with a variety of projects and ongoing assignments, which may include but are not limited to:

• Assisting with Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects, including design and construction

• Supporting engineering project managers with clerical, administrative, and technical tasks

• Researching and analyzing programs and initiatives

• Updating internal procedures and policies

• Creating and editing CAD maps, designs, and standards (AutoCAD)

• Participating in field data collection, investigations, and analysis

Minimum Qualifications

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Manager II in the Engineering Division. This is an open recruitment for two (2) full-time, 3-year limited term confidential positions.

These are Limited Term Contract Employee (LTCE) Positions. LTCE positions are funded by grants or other designated funds which are not part of the Air District’s ongoing general fund budget.  LTCE positions are subject to individual employment contracts and are limited to the duration of their funding source.

About the Position

The Engineering Division evaluates permit applications and permit renewals for equipment and operations that emit air pollutants in the Air District’s jurisdiction. The division is responsible for other programs related to facilities with air quality permits, including - but not limited to - the emissions inventory and air toxics programs. The division provides technical support to other agency programs and assists businesses, trade associations, agencies, environmental groups, and community members with issues related to permitting and compliance.

The Manager II for the Engineering Division performs complex and highly specialized air quality engineering work such as, but not limited to:

• Providing project leadership
• Evaluating program effectiveness
• Processing permit applications for both new source review (NSR) and Title V for complex facilities
• Analyzing air emissions inventory data
• Development of new regulations or amendments of existing regulations
• Strategic planning of division programs

There are two vacancies at the Manager II level.

1. Manager of the Permitting Backlog Team:  The incumbent will hire and lead a team with a Supervising Air Quality Engineer, up to four Air Quality Engineers, and retired annuitants to evaluate and complete permit applications.

2. Engineering Program Manager (EPM):  The incumbent works directly with internal Air District Staff, applicants, and regulated facilities to ensure complete application submittals and streamlined review processes to achieve timely and defensible permit decisions.  The EPM effectively communicates Air District rule interpretations, compliance requirements, and scientific and technical analyses to regulated facilities, applicants, and interested public in ways that improve decision making transparency and timeliness.  For applications involving novel technologies, the EPM provides additional analyses and gathers information to support development of emission factors, consulting with internal air District staff, the California Air Resources Board, other local air districts, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as needed.  The EPM provides recommendations on strategic policy development related to complex permits and facilities to Engineering Division teams and Air District leadership. 

Minimum Qualifications

The items listed below are the minimum requirements for this classification.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related field and five years of professional level work experience of which at least two years at a supervisory level. Some positions may require specialized training, education, and experience.

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position will be considered.
 

Desired Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, chemical, mechanical or petroleum engineering or a closely related field and four years of air quality environmental engineering experience of which at least two years at a lead level managing projects.

San Mateo County Libraries is seeking individuals interested in making a difference in the lives of children and families. We will be hiring multiple vacancies for the position of Big Lift Inspiring Summers Learning Facilitator.
   

The Position: Learning Facilitators will be responsible for leading high-quality and connected learning experiences with children and collaborating with the other staff in a classroom environment for the Big Lift Summer Program. Learning Facilitators will establish and maintain an environment that embraces the growth mindset, actively facilitate open-ended, child-directed projects, and look for every opportunity to embrace and incorporate youth creativity.
 
Inspiring Summers Camps: The camps serve children reading below grade level in areas where the majority of youth qualify for free or reduced lunch. Staff working intensively with enrolled youth will have the opportunity to make our community a stronger, healthier, and more equitable place. These summer learning experiences are a critical part of San Mateo County's strategy to dramatically reduce the number of youth who cannot read on grade level, a problem that disproportionately affects youth of color and socioeconomically disadvantaged youth. Help us support youth in a summer program aimed to build confident youth who will have the benefit of high-quality, cutting-edge learning experiences with caring and passionate adults.
 
Location: Big Lift Inspiring Summer Learning Facilitators will be assigned to work at one of eight camps with children who will be entering kindergarten, first, second, or third grade in the Fall. The camps are located in Daly City, Half Moon Bay, Millbrae, Pacifica, Pescadero, San Bruno, and South San Francisco.
 
Schedule: This 6 to 7-week internship will begin with 8 days of required training and will then continue with a 4 to 5-week assignment in one of our learning camps. The camp assignment will either be part-time (20-28 hours per week, 4-5 hours per day Monday-Thursday and all day on Friday) or full-time (35-40 hours per week, 7-8 hours per day Monday-Friday).
 
MANDATORY IN-PERSON TRAINING WILL BEGIN TUESDAY, MAY 26, OR MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2025, depending on site placement.

Qualifications

These positions are designed to support college-aged students, recent graduates, and paraprofessionals working in youth education.
 
Education or Experience: Experience working with youth or a demonstrated interest in working with youth. Examples include experience coaching, tutoring, providing childcare, and taking child development coursework. Experience in theater, arts, music, youth development, early childhood, social justice, and science is also preferred.
 
Age Recruitment: must be 16 years or older. 
 
Language: Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

OVERVIEW 
The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Engineering Specialist with the Facilities Services office. 

The Engineering Specialist is a subject matter expert in electrical systems of building facilities. Working closely with project managers, architects and engineers, and facility management administrators, the incumbent will have broad knowledge and experience in electrical systems. Incumbent will review and advise on multiple new ground-up construction capital projects and facility modifications and act as a resource for providing technical assistance on projects during design and construction. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Library Activity Leader supports the Youth Services and Neighborhood Libraries Divisions working year-round at the family friendly Redwood Shores Branch Library and Schaberg Branch Library. They work with library staff to create and deliver storytimes, events and programs, follow library policy and procedures, and provide excellent customer service to families, children and teens at the branch libraries.

The City of Foster City has an opening for an Engineering Intern in the Public Works Department. The position is part-time with flexible scheduling, up to 980 hours per fiscal year, and no benefits provided. The department is interested in candidates for the summer or between mid-May and early June.  

Important and Essential Responsibilities: 
Daily responsibilities will include working directly with the Public Works staff, populating and updating the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database, and performing indexing and data entry. Other duties may include providing project assistance to technical and engineering staff related to capital improvement projects, researching, CAD drafting, plan review, field work, data collection and analysis, permit issuance, compiling information from various sources, and providing administrative or other support in the Public Works Department. 

Education and Training Guidelines: 
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way would be:

Education: Graduation from high school. A degree or degree in progress (upperclassmen preferred) from an Engineering program in a school or university is required.

Experience:  No experience is necessary; 6 months of paid or documented volunteer experience in a municipal agency is desirable.

Licenses, Certificates, Registration
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License is preferred at the time of appointment. For positions where the ability to drive is not an essential function, the employee must be able to arrange reliable and timely transportation through private or public transportation for attendance at off-site meetings, events, and trainings.

The City of Foster City is looking for a dedicated Senior Engineering Technician to join our Public Works Department. The Senior Engineering Technician is responsible for a wide range of engineering tasks, including performing, field surveys, construction support, project inspections, data mapping, and traffic engineering activities.  The role also involves receiving, reviewing, and processing transportation and encroachment permit applications. This is an advanced-level position expected to manage complex and broader ranging projects with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will independently coordinate engineering support functions and collaborate effectively with internal staff and external stakeholders.  

Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way would be:

Education: Graduation from high school or the equivalent; college courses in engineering or drafting desirable.

Experience: Four years of full-time, paid experience in municipal engineering, including drafting and surveying. Up to two years of college education in engineering or drafting may be substituted for the required full-time experience on a year for year basis.

Under direct supervision of the Controller, provides accounting and fiscal support, including accounts payable, cash and accounts receivable receipts, invoices, and processes, records, reviews, and reconciles a variety of financial transactions and records for Peninsula Library System and its multiple contracted agencies.

This class is the first in the Accounting Assistant series. The Accounting Assistant I works under close supervision and performs daily and routine accounting duties in accordance with established accounting procedures. It is distinguished from the Accounting Assistant Il by the amount of accounting and/or financial experience required. An Accounting Assistant I works under general supervision and, within a framework of established procedures, is expected to perform a variety of complex accounting duties with only occasional assistance and may provide lead directions to other accounting support staff on a project or day-to-day basis.
