The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Air Quality Specialist I/II in the Source Test Section. This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, represented position.

The Source Test Section performs source emission tests at regulated facilities for compliance determination, emission factor development, and information gathering. The County of San Mateo Family Health Services Division is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Community Worker to join the Healthy Families San Mateo County Program. Healthy Families San Mateo County is an evidence-based home visiting program that supports pregnant people and new parents to have the healthiest start for their babies. The Senior Community Worker will work to promote the health of pregnant people and their babies, improve birth outcomes, strengthen parent-child bonding, and create a healthy environment for the entire family by providing intensive home visiting services to families in San Mateo County. The Senior Community Worker will make referrals to community and other agencies, coordinate care with hospitals and medical providers, educate and counsel new parents, act as a resource for staff on medical and nursing issues, interpret medical records and make recommendations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way of gaining the knowledge and skills is;

• Two years of experience providing community services of a remedial and educational nature which includes experience counseling and conducting outreach to the client population served.

Licensure/Certification:

• This position requires possession of a class C California driver license or equivalent.

Physical Demands:
Must possess mobility to work in the field as well as an office environment; to operate a motor vehicle for home visits, jail visits, to attend meetings, and visit various County sites; to inspect sites including client homes; vision and smell to assess environmental situations, identify conditions, and to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking on uneven terrain, and climbing and descending structures to access client homes and interact with members of the community. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate above-mentioned tools and equipment. Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work. Employees must possess the ability to lift and carry materials, objects, and children weighing up to 60 pounds, with the use of proper equipment.

Employees frequently work outdoors and are exposed to varying weather conditions, loud or excessive noise levels, unpleasant odors, dust, fumes, allergens, vermin, parasites, or insects, toxic substances; infectious agents, and cold and/or hot temperatures. Incumbents may be exposed to blood and body fluids performing duties. Protective clothing such as gloves, masks, or gown may be necessary when performing client assessments or when supporting client job training. he Senior Project Manager is responsible for the developing, managing, and administering capital funded design and construction of projects of the infrastructure and capital project development department for the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans). 

The Bus Infrastructure and Capital Projects Department oversees the delivery of major bus fleet and facilities infrastructure projects for SamTrans. The department’s projects include design and construction of zero emission infrastructure (battery electric bus (BEB) charging infrastructure and hydrogen fuel cell electric bus (FCEB) infrastructure) for SamTrans's revenue and non­revenue fleet of nearly 400 vehicles, sea level rise and flood mitigation structures, bus administration, transportation, and maintenance buildings, and other structures at SamTrans' North Base and South Base Maintenance Facilities. 

 

 

 

Essential Functions & Duties

• Responsible for overall management of scope, schedule, budget, and quality of assigned capital projects from initiation to closeout. 
• Manage projects through design, procurement, and construction. 
• Manage consultant and in-house staff in formal reviews of design submittals, including engineering drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates and construction schedules. 
• Oversee construction contract to ensure compliance with contract requirements. 
• Manage coordination and communications with all stakeholders, obtain input, collaborate, and build consensus. 
• Represent SamTrans at Board, Commission, Council, and Community Meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in personnel, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field, and four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional human resources experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or lead capacity, are required. Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $132,749 to $162,905. Remote work is not available for this position. The City is proud to offer a competitive total compensation package with the following highlights:

The Climate Protection team works to:

The Senior Sustainability Specialist – Climate Action will:

• Serve on the leadership committee of the Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) quarterly regional forum.

This is a full-time, classified, and fully benefited position in the Sustainability Department. 

The ideal candidate will:

• Be an experienced project manager able to juggle multiple complex projects simultaneously, prioritizing efforts in alignment with established goals. 
• Build relationships and strategic partnerships with County-level staff, departments, agencies, and non-government organizations to help achieve local and regional climate action goals. Have a solid familiarity with a breadth of sustainability related topics, especially energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainable transportation, preferably in the local government context. 
• Possess professional facilitation skills to enable cross-jurisdictional, cross-topical, cross-departmental information sharing, knowledge development, and project implementation.

About the County  

THE OPPORTUNITY

The City of Pacifica is recruiting for a Public Works Superintendent within the Department of Public Works. Under the direction of the Field Services Manager, the incumbents will be responsible for the field services of the Public Works Department. They will plan, organize, and direct the work of field personnel and perform related work as required. The incumbents will be assigned to oversee various subdivisions such as Streets, Streams, Storm Drains, Street Lighting, and Motor Pool programs.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining and repairing the City’s infrastructure and wastewater treatment operations in an efficient and cost-effective manner while providing a high level of customer service and a safe work environment for city employees. The Department maintains parks, playing fields and medians and keeps streets and trails clean and well-maintained. The Department also coordinates the tree program, cleans beaches and coordinates the City Beautification program.

The Public Works Department is organized into three divisions including Wastewater Treatment Operations, Field Services and Engineering. The Wastewater Treatment Operations includes the operation of the Calera Creek water treatment plant and management of the collection system. Field Services oversees the maintenance of city streets, parks, trees, vehicles and public facilities. The Engineering Division manages public infrastructure projects, transportation planning and maintenance and repair of the City’s infrastructure. The Public Works Department is supported by 56 full-time staff and an annual operating budget of $4.6 million, along with a FY2023-2028 CIP appropriation of $ 8.6 million.

PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT

DEFINITION

Under direction, manages the field services of the Public Works Department; to plan, organize, and direct the work of field personnel, including Parks, Trees, Streams Streets, Buildings, Rangers and/or Motor Pool Divisions.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISITCS

This is a management class with major responsibilities for the City’s Parks, Trees, Streams Streets, Buildings, Rangers and/or Motor Pool maintenance programs, that requires significant independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines. This position assists in the strategic planning, organization, and management across multiple operational units.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction from the Field Services Manager or designee. Exercises general supervision over supervisory, professional, technical and administrative support staff through subordinate levels of supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Plan, organize, direct, review and evaluate the work of staff involved in public works operations, including building maintenance, streams, streets, streets cleaning, storm drain maintenance, signs and signals, parking lots, and trails, janitorial service for City owned facilities, and vehicle maintenance and repair directly and through subordinate levels of supervision.
• Establish and carry out division goals, objectives, work plans, reports, policies and procedures.
• Prepare division budget and staffing requirements;
• Plan, organize and direct the work of contractors;
• Responsible for the procurement of goods and services.
• Monitor operations to ensure that operating procedures are followed.
