DEFINITION

Under general supervision, performs a full range of technical and public contact duties in support of the
Town’s code compliance program. This position emphasizes education and prevention by serving as a
resource, partner, and guide to residents, contractors, and businesses to promote voluntary compliance and
community pride. Responsibilities include proactive community education and outreach, monitoring
construction activity, investigating and resolving complaints, and ensuring compliance with the Town’s
municipal, fire, building, housing, zoning, and related codes and regulations. When enforcement is
necessary, the Coordinator supports individuals through the resolution process by clearly explaining
requirements and facilitating corrective action. Work involves extensive collaboration with Town
departments and the public, detailed documentation and use of case management systems, and the
consistent, fair application of codes and policies. Performs related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general supervision from the Building Official. Exercises no direct supervision over staff.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

The Code Compliance Coordinator class series is flexibly staffed; positions are normally filled at
the I level, with advancement to the II level based on demonstrated proficiency, possession of
required qualifications, and management approval.

Code Compliance Coordinator I (Journey-Level):
This is the fully qualified, journey-level class in the Code Compliance series. Incumbents are
responsible for performing the full range of duties related to municipal code compliance,
including complaint investigation, construction site monitoring, inspections, case management,
and public education. Employees in this class are expected to work independently, apply codes
and regulations with discretion, and serve as educators and resources to the community.
Positions at this level may receive direction or instruction as new or unusual situations arise but
generally operate with a high degree of independence and responsibility.

Code Compliance Coordinator II (Advanced-Level)
This is the advanced-level class in the Code Compliance series. Positions at this level are
distinguished from Code Compliance Coordinator I by the performance of more complex or
sensitive compliance cases, the expectation to serve as a subject-matter resource, and potential
responsibility for mentoring less experienced staff. Incumbents are expected to exercise greater
judgment and may be assigned leadership in high-profile cases, advanced compliance activities,
or coordination of multi-departmental enforcement efforts. Progression to this level is typically
based on several years of successful performance as a Code Compliance Coordinator I, advanced
training and/or certification, and demonstration of proficiency in handling the most complex
cases.

Advancement to the Code Compliance Coordinator II level is typically achieved through
progression from the I level and is contingent upon (i) management’s determination that the
incumbent is regularly performing the full range of duties of the higher classification; (ii)
demonstrated satisfactory job performance; (iii) incumbent meeting the minimum qualifications
for the higher classification; and (iv) management approval for advancement to Code Compliance
Coordinator II.

• Guide individuals who are out of compliance through the resolution process, ensuring they understand what is required and how to achieve compliance.
• Prepare and issue notices of violation, citations, and related correspondence in accordance with applicable laws and ordinances, while maintaining a solution-oriented approach.

Documentation & Technology

• Maintain accurate case files, inspection notes, and compliance records using the Town’s land use permit tracking software.
• Input inspection results, notices, and case updates into databases to ensure timely tracking and resolution.
• Prepare clear, professional reports, memoranda, correspondence, and hearing documentation.
• Prepare and present compliance cases at hearings; send required notifications; testify and provide supporting evidence.

San Mateo Superior Court is searching for an experienced and strategic Information Technology Manager to oversee the Business Applications unit responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining the enterprise systems that keep Court operations running seamlessly. Reporting directly to the Court Director of Information Technology, you will guide a talented team, partner with internal and external stakeholders, and drive technology solutions that enhance judicial services, support data-driven decision-making, and advance the Court’s long-term priorities.

The Position:

Under the general direction of the Court Director of Information Technology, this position plans, organizes and supervises the work of the Court’s business application team responsible for design, development, implementation and support/maintenance of applications and technology solutions to support achievement of the Court's mission and business, operating and judicial objectives.  The Court’s business application team performs limited in-house development.  The team primarily implements, enhances, maintains and supports enterprise-wide, vendor developed systems.

The Information Technology Manager (IT Manager) provides supervision and direction for the ongoing maintenance, technical support, configuration, and customization of Court case management system applications and associated systems.

The IT Manager also coordinates and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sound, efficient technology solutions that meet the Court’s objectives. Performs other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility in responding to emerging needs and technology initiatives.

In addition, the IT Manager in the Business Applications section works closely with the Court IT Manager in the Infrastructure section to deploy solutions to support achievement of the Court's mission and business, operating and judicial objectives.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

Positions in this classification exercise a high level of judgment, influence, and subject-matter expertise to develop, implement, and administer plans, policies, and programs that advance the Court’s strategic priorities and organizational goals. Incumbents serve as key advisors and change leaders, ensuring initiatives are aligned with long-term objectives and operational excellence standards. Positions in this classification are responsible for exercising judgment, influence and expertise to formulate and administer plans, policies and programs in support of organizational goals and objectives. 

Court Information Technology Managers provide strategic leadership and oversight of professional and technical staff responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of a broad portfolio of applications, systems, and user/workstation services. They ensure technology solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with Court operational, administrative, and judicial service needs, enabling efficient business processes and high-quality service delivery across the organization. 

Incumbents provide strategic stewardship over assigned cost center budgets and ensure proactive planning, prioritization, and execution of technology initiatives of varying size, scope, and urgency. This includes aligning projects with organizational priorities, optimizing the use of financial and human resources, and ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with enterprise technology standards and long-range strategic goals. 

Incumbents are expected to cultivate and sustain strong, customer-focused partnerships with court managers and executives, judicial officers, justice-system stakeholders, and Judicial Council of California staff. These relationships support effective collaboration, alignment of technology solutions with Court needs, and the advancement of shared operational and strategic priorities across the justice community. 

Incumbents lead and participate in the assessment and adoption of emerging technologies, tools, standards, and frameworks to drive innovation and ensure the Court’s technology processes, systems, and solutions remain efficient, secure, and aligned with industry's best practices.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify could include:

• Education: Graduation from a four-year college or equivalent technical certification with coursework in computer science, information systems or closely related field, AND a minimum of 60 semester or 90 quarter units in IT courses.
• Experience: A minimum of three years as an Information Technology manager or supervisor of at least three staff; a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of core business applications.

About the Adult Protective Services (APS) Program

APS is a state-mandated program responsible for investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation involving older adults and dependent adults. Abuse may include physical, financial, emotional, sexual abuse, neglect, isolation, or abandonment.

APS Social Worker IIIs conduct face-to-face home visits, complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments, develop service plans, and coordinate interventions across multiple systems. Investigations may be conducted in collaboration with law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, health care providers, and community partners.

The program is built on a foundation of client rights, empowerment, and person-centered practice, aiming to strengthen safety, reduce risk, and support clients’ ability to remain in the community whenever appropriate.

About the Opportunity

The City of Millbrae is looking for a full-time Deputy Finance Director based in Millbrae, California.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department and supporting citywide financial initiatives.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing departmental functions, supervising staff, and supporting the Finance Director in budget development, auditing, and financial planning activities.

More About You

Education: Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.

Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management capacity.

Licenses: Possession of a valid California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and a Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) certificate are highly desirable.

Speak clearly and understandably; operate standard computer programs and financial systems. The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Engineer for the Facilities Services office.

The Engineer will perform engineering design review, and options analysis in the areas of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for judicial branch facilities. Incumbent will assist facility management staff in the more complex facility maintenance engineering activities including1) development and control of operating and maintenance procedures, 2) analysis of design maintainability and operability, and 3) other related technical support.

The County of San Mateo's Sheriff's Office Forensic Laboratory, which is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board in both Testing and Calibration, is seeking to fill a Criminalist I/II position within its Forensic Biology and DNA Section, which includes participation in crime scene examination.

The Forensic Laboratory was constructed in March 2003 and is located in San Mateo, California. It is managed by a civilian Laboratory Director who is currently supported by three Supervising Criminalists, one Legal Office Services Supervisor, 28 Criminalists and interns, two Legal Office Specialists, and two Property Officers. The Criminalist will report to a Supervising Criminalist and will analyze evidence seized in the course of criminal investigations, providing laboratory analysis and expert witness testimony in the areas of serology and DNA analysis. They may participate in validation studies of new technology and methods for use in casework, cold case investigations, internal audits, and guiding our intern program. Also, on a rotational basis, they will respond with a partner to investigate crime scenes for homicides and officer involved critical incidents. The ideal candidate will:

• Be an experienced Forensic Biology/DNA analyst dedicated to staying abreast of changes within the forensic industry.
• Have experience in biological screening, DNA extraction, quantitation, amplification, and typing.
• Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or forensic science.
• Have successfully completed a minimum of 12 semester or equivalent credit hours from a combination of undergraduate or graduate coursework covering the subject areas of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, statistics and/or population genetics.
• Have a minimum of three years of forensic DNA laboratory experience, which includes examining, collecting, and analyzing biological fluids, contact DNA, and other biological evidence collected from crime scenes.
• Be experienced in using a wide variety of equipment and instrumentation including alternate light sources, centrifuges, microscopes, DNA extraction robots, liquid handlers, thermal cyclers, and genetic analyzers.
• Have courtroom testimony experience.

Position Summary

This position demands a wide range of technical skills. Under the direction of the Communications Electronics Supervisor, this position provides technical support for the communications, access control, video and electronics control system in place throughout the District. The Communications Electronics Technician installs, maintains, test and repairs electronics communications system located at various District facilities from San Francisco to Santa Rosa. These include, but is not limited to, P25 trunked radio system, microwave equipment, video cameras and management system, access control system, programmable logic controllers, fiber optics and network communications equipment. • Installs, tests, and maintains electronic and two-way radio equipment in Buses, Ferries, District vehicles and facilities, and radio sites
• Setups and services access control system, including card readers, electromechanical locks, gate controllers and associated software

THE POSITION

• Perform technical level administrative duties in support of the City’s Below Market-Rate (BMR) Housing Program
• Research, collect, and analyze data and prepare draft reports related to the City’s BMR Program
• Create and manage workflows and administrative procedures for annual compliance monitoring of the City’s BMR portfolio
• Conduct BMR unit transactions, including BMR sales and re-sales, refinances and loan payoffs, and leasing of BMR/affordable housing rental units, in collaboration with City’s contracted BMR real estate agent and/or property managers of BMR/affordable housing properties
