BACKGROUND: In service to the City of Fremont and the Tri-City community for over 35 years, the City of Fremont’s Human Services Department (HSD) provides services to youth, families, and seniors. During its tenure, HSD’s ability to build strong partnerships throughout Fremont’s diverse community has allowed it to become a trusted ally to residents who are most in need.
The City of Fremont’s Human Services Department is currently looking for a temporary employee to serve as Winter Shelter Coordinator. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the shelter and overseeing monitors and volunteers who staff the facility. This position reports to the Human Services Director, or her designee, and coordinates with the Department’s Executive Assistant regarding scheduling, reporting, and other administrative tasks.
POSITION: The City of Fremont opens their Winter Shelter every winter to provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Participants have access from approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., where they will be provided with a warm meal, restroom facilities, sleeping bags, cots, Breakfast, and a to-go bag. The Winter Shelter is open from mid-November to mid-March. The Human Services Department is currently recruiting for Winter Shelter monitors for next season (2019/2020).
The position will work up to 30 hours per week.

The City of Salinas is currently accepting applications for temporary Office Technician. The current need is in our Public Works Department but may be assigned to another department. This is a temporary non-benefited position that will assist with clerical duties. Temporary employees may not work more than 25 hours a week and 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July-June).
