The Staff Services Specialist position performs a variety of technical administrative duties in support of facilities management, budget, administrative functions, department projects, and programs that require a thorough knowledge of the terminology, procedures, and practices for the assigned functional area. This position will be a part of the Agriculture Department within the Air Pollution Control District. This position is full-time and is scheduled for (40) hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

• Reviews, verifies, and processes documents related to department activities including budgets, contracts, grants, claims, legislation, purchasing, and other specialized documents based on area of assignment.
• Tracks progress of projects, payments, expenditures, and reimbursements.
• Creates, maintains, and monitors facility related agreements and contracts with outside vendors and contractors; monitors vendor/contractor/landlord performance, ensuring discrepancies or problems are resolved and work is done in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Prepares presentations, general and technical correspondence, and promotional materials; develops forms, tracking systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Provides liaison and staff support to committees, commissions, and department management.

The Fiscal Analyst I position, performs varied and complex professional accounting and financial analysis work relating to various grants and programs; fiscal and contract management; fiscal program analysis and compliance; prepares analytical, narrative, statistical, accounting and financial reports; develops and monitors budgets; and prepares financial statements and reports and related duties as required. Fiscal Analyst I is the entry-level classification in the Fiscal Analyst series. Incumbents in this class work under supervision. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week, is an in-person position and located in Glenn County, California.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepares reports and analysis on accounting activities relating to funds, grants, and programs.
• Prepares various financial statements including worksheets, balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flow, adjusting and closing balance sheets, depreciation  schedules, allocation schedules, and cost reports.
• Reconciles accounts.
• Compiles and analyzes data. 
• Works to determine reasons for significant differences between anticipated revenues, expenditures and fund balances in department budgets.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships and Government Relations, the Senior Manager of Marketing Communications brings a collaborative spirit and a self-starter mindset. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable leading strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute on day-to-day marketing needs. They bring thoughtfulness to how messaging is developed and deployed, ensuring all communications reflect First 5 Orange County’s mission and values.
The ideal candidate understands the full spectrum of marketing communications, including how reputation, awareness, and demand intersect to support organizational goals. They have the strategic expertise to shape campaigns and the tactical know-how to implement them effectively. They are experienced in building and managing content for websites, understand best practices in user experience, and know how to leverage digital platforms to educate and engage the public. An understanding of government agencies is especially important, as is experience navigating the unique communications needs and protocols in those environments.
Social media plays a key role in the communications ecosystem, and this leader will guide its use as a tool for public awareness and education. Additionally, they bring seasoned public relations experience and are confident managing external vendors, creatives, and consultants to bring ideas to life. Essential Job Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with First 5 Orange County’s mission and strategic plan.
• Lead content development across all platforms, including website, newsletters, social media, presentations, and marketing collateral.
• Plan, write, and oversee the production of marketing collateral such as brochures, fact sheets, infographics, flyers, and other outreach materials.
• Manage and produce the organization’s annual report, ensuring it effectively communicates impact, financial transparency, and community outcomes.
• Coordinate visual storytelling efforts, including photography and videography at community events and for campaigns.
• Oversee the planning, creation, and publication of compelling content that educates, informs, and inspires action.
• Manage and optimize the organization’s website for content accuracy, accessibility, SEO, and user experience.
• Design and execute social media strategies to increase engagement and awareness, managing both content and performance metrics.
• Build and maintain media relationships and manage proactive and reactive public relations initiatives.
• Lead or support the development and execution of public education campaigns in partnership with creative agencies and vendors.
• Ensure messaging consistency across all internal and external communications.
• Analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communications efforts, using data to guide improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and community partners to ensure communications are inclusive, culturally responsive, and effective.
• Manage relationships with marketing consultants, designers, web developers, and other vendors.
• Serve as a thought partner to leadership on communications strategy and crisis communications, as needed.
• Lead and oversee branding strategy to ensure consistent, accurate, and compelling use of logo, visual identity, and messaging across all communications.

Additional Information
This is an "at-will" position. Incumbents in this position will serve at the discretion of First 5 Orange County and can be terminated at any time. In such an event, the candidate has no right to any appeal or grievance procedure under any rule or regulation of First 5 Orange County or the State.
 

THE POSITION
The Deputy Director of the Public Works Agency plays a critical leadership role overseeing the Roads and Engineering Divisions. This position is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of major infrastructure projects, public works programs, and disaster recovery initiatives. Working under the general direction of the Agency Director, the Deputy Director provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure efficient service delivery, regulatory compliance, and community engagement. The role also serves as Acting Director in the Director’s absence and represents the agency in meetings with officials, stakeholders, and the public. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. This recruitment may be used to establish a list to fill future vacancies for the next six (6) months.

• Oversees the preparation of solicitation documents for construction projects, manages the bid process including pre-bid conferences and site walk-throughs, responds to bidder inquiries, and administers construction contracts, including budgeting and assisting with regulatory permitting.
• Supervises consultant contracts for public works services, monitors project performance, and ensures departmental processes comply with contract provisions and standards.
•  Coordinates with consultants, staff engineers, and other stakeholders to guide the preparation of plans and specifications for public works projects
•  Identifies alternative funding sources, coordinates grant and loan applications, secures funding, monitors expenditures, and tracks project outcomes.

The Marysville Police Department is recruiting for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher.

Under direct supervision, the Police Academy Recruit attends a basic Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified training academy to obtain the basic skills and fitness level necessary for the performance of Police Officer duties.  This position requires a thorough background investigation, psychological assessment, and a medical exam prior to appointment. This is the non-sworn, entry-level classification in the Police Officer series. Incumbents in this classification receive training in a controlled classroom environment.  Advancement to the sworn Police Officer position is based on meeting minimum qualification standards and satisfactory performance in the academy.

The North Tahoe Fire Protection District is currently accepting applications for current and future job openings from qualified individuals to serve on the chipping crew. These positions are grant-funded, seasonal positions assigned to a 40-hour work week. These positions are returning to the fire district in 2025, and we’ll be hiring three people to operate the chipping crew.  This position is expected to be active from approximately May through November.  The actual start and end dates will be dependent on weather and snow conditions and may be extended beyond 6 months, but no more than 9 months from the employment start date.  The eligibility list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies.  

The Chipping Crew Members work under the direct supervision of the Division Chief of Fire and Life Safety or their designee.  

The primary purpose of this crew is to operate a residential chipping program for the local community. This includes responding to chipping requests, traveling to those addresses with a truck and chipper, chipping the material, ensuring a clean site upon leaving, potentially hauling and dumping the material at a temporary holding site, assisting with loading, and ensuring activities are adequately tracked. The applicant must be comfortable working in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions and lifting objects frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.  Chipping crew members will also assist with community workdays utilizing the truck and chipper or assisting with cutting and hauling combustible materials and filling green waste dumpsters.

Successful applicants will serve an important role on the Fire Prevention team.

The Defensible Space Inspector works under the direct supervision of the Division Chief of Fire and Life Safety or their designee.

Full Time, Part Time, and/or Remote. Primary duty is to review and comment on plans, specifications, and estimates for capital improvement projects. Projects may include road, bridge, and airport improvements. Must live in California and possess a California Professional Civil Engineer License.
