The Public Works Program Manager leads and supports a diverse team of professional, technical, and administrative staff while overseeing a key functional area within the Public Works Department. This role plays a critical part in planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality public services that positively impact the community. The Program Manager receives direction from the Public Works Director or designee and exercises direct supervision over professional, technical, and clerical staff, ensuring work is completed efficiently, collaboratively, and in alignment with departmental goals and regulatory requirements.

• Assists in the formulation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
• Coordinates division activities with those of other departments, divisions, sections and outside agencies and organizations.
• Recommends and assists in the implementation of goals and objectives for department programs establishes schedules and methods for services; implements department policies and procedures.
• Participates in the preparation and administration of grants.
• Responds to public inquiries, requests for assistance and complaints related to assigned areas of responsibility.
• Performs general administrative work as necessary, including preparing reports and correspondence, reviewing correspondence, copying and filing documents, entering computer data and preparing spreadsheets, etc.

Under supervision, the Community Service Officer (CSO) performs a wide range of field and office support duties in the patrol and support services divisions within the Marysville Police Department.

This is a specialized, full-time, non-sworn classification. The Community Service Officer has no powers of arrest.

Definition: 
To perform varied and routine non-sworn duties with emphasis on parking enforcement and vehicle abatement program.

Examples of Duties:

• Enforce sections of the Marysville Municipal Code, other enforcement codes; and assist other City Departments in various code enforcement

• Perform traffic control and non-violent crowd control

• Assist Police Officers in routine investigations and respond to and investigate non-injury traffic collisions
• Respond to general inquiries from the public not requiring a sworn officer, in person at the front counter, on the telephone, through electronic mail, or in the field; take and process crime reports; provide information, assistance and required forms.
• Participate in animal control enforcement activities.
• Respond to general public service calls and complaints; perform a wide variety of citizen assistance tasks.
• Operate computer systems and access data bases such as the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) to enter, search, confirm and retrieve a wide variety of information related to local, state and national crime activity and investigations using established codes and screens, determine alternative approaches to locating information such as use of aliases and other name variations

• Complete effective presentations to community groups, provide crime prevention information, and help with community events and related duties.

• Testify in court or at hearings on case records and investigative activities.

This position provides essential case management services to support individuals and families in accessing community resources and services. HHSA Case Manager I is an entry-level, training-focused role that performs routine case management duties under close supervision. HHSA Case Manager II is the journey-level classification and performs the full range of case management functions, including direct client contact and complex cases, with greater independence and professional judgment. This position may work in one or more Public Health programs such as Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and/or health initiatives related to health equity, health care systems, and social determinants of health. This is an in-person position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

• Assists public health nurses in coordinating and conducting community events, such as immunization clinics; assists with screening process, initial assessments, clinic immunization records management, tracking and appropriate reporting.
• Provides case management through individual or group rehab methods for children and/or adults for a variety of health services programs and services.
• Coordinates services with individuals, coordinates activities with other departments, medical providers, social workers, schools and/or other outreach agencies as appropriate to ensure that the needs of the clients are met.
• Performs general administrative/office work as required, including but not limited to copying and filing documents, preparing/typing documents, answering the telephone, faxing information, entering computer data, attending meetings, ordering supplies, maintaining office cleanliness, etc.

This position is a working level civilian class in law enforcement, performing a variety of        non-sworn duties in support of law enforcement activities.  Incumbents may perform civil, code enforcement, and criminal services including a variety of routine to more complex non-sworn law enforcement and crime prevention work including patrolling assigned areas, answering calls for service and complaints, serving civil papers, providing court room security; and enforcing local ordinances related to public safety and welfare.  As a County Services Officer he/she will enforce Division 14 of the Agricultural Code of the State of California and enforce the County ordinance governing the animal and rabies control program, in an effort to maintain public safety and welfare.  This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Process and serve documents involved in civil actions including summons, complaints, claims of plaintiffs and orders; declarations and orders of examinations, Notice of Entries of Judgments, civil and criminal subpoenas, Notice to Vacate Rental Premise and process writs of execution including the preparation of orders for wage garnishment. Works with other law enforcement agencies in matters related to the investigation of crimes and apprehension of offenders.

Glenn County is recruiting an individual to fill a full time position in the Public Works Agency. The Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II/III position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of County roads, bridges, and other related structures, and in various traffic control maintenance and  repair activities of the Public Works Agency; operates a variety of construction, maintenance and transportation equipment as necessary to complete daily tasks at the Glenn County Public Works Agency. The Public Works Maintenance Worker III position is the journey-level class in the series, and is distinguished from the Public Works Maintenance Worker II by the primary responsibility to operate heavy diesel and gasoline-powered construction equipment in the maintenance of roadways, drainage systems. 
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepares roads for patch repairs, overlays, or chip seals; prepares mix for patching roads; repairs and reconstructs roads.
• Cleans roadsides and drainage systems; inspects and clears debris from drainage systems; conducts roadside burning as needed.
• Prunes trees and other vegetation as needed.
• Directs and controls traffic around work sites.
• Operates semi-trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, boom truck, front loader, rollers, snow plow, etc.; operates a compressor, sand blasters, jack hammer, chipper machine, welding equipment, cutting torch, compaction tools, weed eater, blower, and other hand and power tools.

I-   $20.21 - $24.56 Per Hour
II-  $21.77 - $26.47 Per Hour
III- $22.89 - $27.83 Per Hour

This position performs a variety of highly complex technical para-professional administrative duties in support of fiscal and accounting procedures, including budget preparation and auditing a variety of financial records under limited supervision. This position will require thorough knowledge of accounting terminology and procedures. The position is full-time, and scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

• Coordinates services and repairs with maintenance staff and/or vendors; conducts inspections, investigations, or interviews as needed to identify problems.
• Enters data into computer systems and maintains information systems database; enter data, processes transactions, assess and validates data, compiles documentation, examines, reconciles and adjusts financial records and reports.
• Tracks progress of projects, payments, expenditures, and reimbursements. 
• Creates, maintains, and monitors facility related agreements and contracts with outside vendors and contractors; monitors vendor/contractor/landlord performance, ensuring discrepancies or problems are resolved and work is done in accordance with contractual requirements

The County of Glenn is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works who is a strategic, collaborative, and confident leader with effective communication skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex engineering projects that provide essential services throughout Glenn County. Reporting directly to the Public Works Director, the Assistant Public Works Director will serve as a project manager for a variety of public works and capital improvement projects, including the design and construction of roads, bridges and storm drainage infrastructure.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general direction from the Director of Public Works; exercises direct supervision over professional engineering, technical engineering and clerical staff.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

The Auditor-Controller Manager is distinguished by the level of responsibility of managing multiple components of accounting, administrative and auditing systems, fiscal staff development, and program analysis. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. This recruitment may be used to establish a list to fill future vacancies for the next six (6) months.

Plans, develops, and evaluates Auditor-Controller Division’s goals, objectives, policies and procedures; interprets laws and regulations; develops systems and standards for program evaluation; assures the Auditor-Controller Division’s activities follow all applicable laws, policies and regulations. Directs the Auditor-Controller Division’s operations; evaluates issues and recommends solutions; prioritizes and assigns projects; identifies and communicates strategies, goals and objectives. Assists the Director of Finance with the accuracy and quality of the County budget expenditures tax accounting, general accounting and reporting documents, and the Auditor-Controller Division’s work products. Assists the Director of Finance with the preparation and administration of the County budget; directs the auditing function of the Auditor-Controller Division in the performance of audits of County departments and Special Districts. Consults with and assists the Director of Finance in the planning, coordinating and administration of the Auditor-Controller Division. Performs the most difficult and complex accounting tasks in the Auditor-Controller division, including preparing financial audits, reports and statements.
