The Engineering & Program Delivery Division:

This division is responsible for the design and construction of all capital projects and infrastructure required to provide a safe, reliable and efficient transportation system for Santa Clara County. These responsibilities include program and project management, design development, engineering management, project controls, construction management and turnover of various projects that are part of VTA's rail, facilities and highway transportation improvement programs.

This division is also responsible for the implementation of the projects identified in the 2000 Measure A Program, which includes the planning, design, and construction of the Eastridge to BART Regional Connector, that connects light rail system to  regional transit systems.

What you will be doing:

Under general direction, the Transportation Engineering Manager manages staff engaged in a variety of activities, such as the planning and design of transportation systems and facilities, administering large capital budgets, including supervising consultant services; and performs managerial and administrative duties.
 

Distinguishing Characteristics

A position in this classification has direct responsibility for project management and development of VTA projects. This position supervises VTA and consultant staff including mentoring and advising staff, administers large project budgets, and is responsible for projects that range widely in level of complexity, involving management of VTA staff and multiple professional planning, engineering and/or architectural agreements.

Essential Job Functions:

Typical Tasks

• Plans, organizes, and directs the work of professional and technical employees involved with the planning, design, construction, and support of activation of transportation systems including guideways, roadways, systems elements, and other transit facilities;
• Mentors and advises subordinate engineers in the area of career development, rotating section assignments, monitoring training, and related professional growth opportunities;
• Supervises the preparation of resolutions, agreements, and other legal documents and the coordination of legal assistance;
• Confers with staff to establish procedures and design standards and assures that the quality of work performed and professional standards are maintained; and reports to management regarding problems or any necessary process improvements;
• Provides final review of plans, specifications, reports, and other documents prepared by subordinates or outside parties;
• Prepares, reviews, and approves detailed correspondence, reports, and agreements;Confers with VTA management and others in matters pertaining the Division's business plan and other issues;
• Confers with VTA management and others in matters pertaining to the Division's business plan and other issues;
• Administers contracts and approves VTA payments for projects capital costs to consultants;
• Assists in the preparation of divisional budgets;
• Represents VTA before the Board of Directors, California Public Utilities Commission, city councils and other State, Federal, local and regional agencies, boards, and commissions, and before local citizens in public meetings and hearings;
• Coordinates technical information exchanges with officials of other governmental jurisdictions, other transportation facility specialists, and the public;
• Represents VTA in planning, design, construction, and operations related legal and financial issues, contractual matters, and related issues;
• Manages and/or coordinates with various committees and working groups;
• Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Employment Standards

Development of the required skills, knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in engineering and six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in engineering with experience with transportation systems or projects, including at least one year of experience at the Senior Transportation Engineer or comparable level for a transportation agency, public works department, public agency or similar organization.
 

Registration as a professional engineer or professional architect in the State of California is required at the time of appointment.

Overview:

Do you want to be part of a dynamic team that helps ensure sustainable groundwater supplies? Valley Water is seeking qualified candidates to join the Groundwater Management Unit. This position uses and maintains groundwater models to simulate current and future groundwater conditions, supporting groundwater supply and planning programs and contributing to sustainable water management. Related analyses include mass balance, statistics, or other methods to prepare or review hydrogeologic reports and engineering analyses. Two (2) years of professional level experience with responsibility for compliance with environmental permitting, water supply planning or distribution, groundwater management, mitigation of natural resource impacts, or hydrogeology or engineering civil.

• Proficiency using and maintaining groundwater flow models. 
• Project based work experience in groundwater management and hydrogeology including issues like groundwater overdraft, managed aquifer recharge, groundwater/surface water interaction, and/or seawater intrusion. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with functions, graphs, and pivot tables in Excel. 
• Experience using GIS and performing statistical analysis (e.g., trend test), and use of computer programming language.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a field related to assigned functional area(s).

Possession of a valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two (2) years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience.

Registration with the State of California as a Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus. (if registered, a 2.5% differential will apply).

Under direct supervision of the Pool Supervisor, the Lifeguard has the responsibility to enforce the safety standards, rules, and regulations of the City’s Pool program; to rescue swimmers in distress and administer First Aid and CPR when it is needed; This position includes ensuring the safety of all pool patrons, be alert of all activities in and around the pool while on duty and to assist with general maintenance and cleanup activities and performs related work as required.  Work is performed in a swimming facility environment, with frequent contact with City staff and the public.  Multiple Lifeguard positions are available.

THE POSITION

This position receives general supervision from the assigned Director and will be considered a position that carries dual responsibilities. The selected candidate will exercise direct supervision over park maintenance workers, janitorial staff, and support service personnel.  He/she will be a working supervisor who provides leadership and direction to assigned staff while also functioning as a skilled tradesperson who is able to take the lead and fill in as needed, in any section of Parks and Facilities.

As Parks Supervisor, the incumbent directs and coordinates park maintenance employees and supports service crews.  

• He/she will oversee, coordinate and/or lead park and facilities personnel, support service crews, and park maintenance crews.
• Schedules and directs the work of assigned parks maintenance personnel, including ensuring parks and facilities are properly prepared for rentals and reservations.
• Works with crews to assure accuracy and compliance with City standards.
• Submits weekly logs of work in progress and jobs completed by crews.
• Responds to public complaints regarding parks projects through proper channels and informs appropriate staff of City standards and policies.

As Facility Supervisor, the incumbent directs and coordinates maintenance, repair, and upkeep of City buildings and facilities, and supervises janitorial staff responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of City buildings and facilities.

• Performs a variety of work in the maintenance, construction, alteration, and repair of City buildings and facilities; identifies and corrects building and equipment problems to maintain facilities in a safe condition, prevent degradation of City property, and prevent failures that would cause reduction in service.
• Performs skilled work across multiple building trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, welding, and related crafts to maintain and repair City buildings, structures, and equipment.
• Inspects City buildings and structures to identify repair needs; evaluates conditions and recommends appropriate corrective action or modifications to meet City standards and building codes.

Solving Problems and Performance of Others: Troubleshoots and resolves non-routine maintenance and repair issues across parks and building systems and independently determines appropriate corrective action. The City of Stockton Human Resources Department is seeking a Program Manager III who will be responsible for managing the department’s budget, contracts, compiling and analyzing data, as well as preparing reports in support of division operations, departmental initiatives, and labor negotiations. These core areas represent key responsibilities of the role; however, the position may also be assigned to oversee projects and additional duties as needed to support broader organizational goals.

The incumbent will work a City of Stockton 9/80 schedule: 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday through Thursday; 8:00am - 5:00pm Fridays, with every other Friday off.

If you are interested in working in a fast-paced, highly valued position, supporting a municipal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite of systems, the City of Sunnyvale is looking to hire an Applications Analyst/Project Coordinator I or II. The Information Technology Department will fill the position at the Applications Analyst I or II level to select the best applicant overall.  This position requires a service-oriented focus, ability to support and enhance our Oracle Cloud ERP & HCM applications, along with primary and secondary support roles for multiple enterprise systems including system configuration, reporting and interfaces, day-to-day operational issues, maintenance, upgrades, and on-call rotations.

The ideal candidate for an Applications Analyst II will have in-depth experience with supporting Financial or Human Capital Management (HCM/HR) systems, preferably an integrated ERP/HCM suite, and ideally Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.  Our Oracle Cloud modules include General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Procure to Pay, Inventory Management, Accounts Receivable, Project Portfolio Management, Core HR, Benefits, Absence, Time and Labor, Payroll  and Learning Management.  Candidates must be detail-oriented, fanatical about documentation, possess strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with end users, and understand the complexities involved in system configuration, integration, interfaces, and report development.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in one of the following ways:

• A Technology Certificate from an accredited college, university, or trade school in information technology, computer applications, web technologies, computer information systems, application development, database design, programming, technology project management or closely related field AND three years of experience in any one of the focus areas; OR
• An Associate’s degree or completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units at an accredited college or university in business information systems, computer science, information technology, software information systems or closely related field AND two years of experience in any one of the focus areas; OR
• A Bachelor’s degree or completion of 120 semester or 180 quarter units from an accredited college or university with concentration in computer science, information technology, engineering, informatics, web science, business information systems or closely related field; AND one year of experience in any one of the focus areas; OR
• At least one of the following certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certification in Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Project Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), SQL Certification or Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) certificate; AND three years of experience in any one of the focus areas.
