San Mateo Medical Center is currently seeking a professional, goal-oriented full-time, regular (benefited) Clinical Services Manager I who will plan, organize, direct, and supervise the operations of our Medical-Surgical (ADC of 35), Intensive Care Unit (ADC 4), and Infusion Center. As Clinical Services Manager I, you will have the opportunity to manage patient care while ensuring appropriate quality of care and compliance with regulations. In addition, you will participate in training, coaching, and counseling activities and perform other assigned duties.

The Clinical Services Manager I is expected to operate with a high level of autonomy, making sound operational and staffing decisions while balancing quality, patient safety, and fiscal stewardship. The position requires strong experience in managing large teams, coordinating across departments, and ensuring alignment of day-to-day operations with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will:

• Possess a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with certification in a specialty
• Have three years of progressive management/supervisory experience in an accredited hospital or clinic

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification: Possession of a valid California license as a Registered Nurse (R.N.).  Must possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificates approved by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. 

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is;

• Three years of professional nursing experience in an accredited hospital or clinic, of which at least one year included responsible supervisory experience, unless otherwise specified below in the additional qualifications.
• Two years of the required experience must have been in acute care and surgical nursing and includes experience in infusion, including chemotherapy, telemetry, antibiotics, blood transfusions and pediatrics.

Dental Assistant ($29.55 - $36.92 hourly) is the experienced level class in the Dental Assistant series, competent to independently perform the full range of journey-level dental assisting work under the supervision of a dentist. This class is flexibly staffed with the Registered Dental Assistant and incumbents may advance to the higher level after obtaining required certification and demonstrating the required proficiency for the higher level.

Registered Dental Assistant ($34.92 - $43.66 Hourly) is the advanced journey-level classification in the series.  Under the supervision of a dentist, incumbents at this level perform dental assisting duties which are limited to a person certified as a Registered Dental Assistant in addition to performing Dental Assistant duties of the lower level.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the areas of workplace safety and employee training, including at least one (1) year of which involved administration of a comprehensive safety and accident prevention program. Five (5) years of experience in the areas of workplace safety and employee training, including at least three (3) years of which have involved administration of a comprehensive safety and accident prevention program desirable.

License/Certification: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License; possession of a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care Provider certificate and First Aid certificate or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of appointment.

THE POSITION

Physical, Mental and Environmental Working Conditions
Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting trees and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing 55 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions, including wet, hot, and cold. The incumbent may use herbicides, which may expose the employee to fumes, dust, and air contaminants, and be exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards. What You’ll Do

The Senior Engineer supervises and participates in the conduct of complicated engineering planning, design, and investigation activities.

Senior Engineer Supplemental Questionnaire

Please provide answers to the following questions, limiting your response to one (1) page each. Responses to the supplemental questions will be used in the selection process. 1. Describe your experience with capital project delivery, including planning, design, and construction phases.
2. What do you perceive as the most significant challenges of this position and what approaches would you take in your first six months in the position to address these challenges?
3. Describe any supervisory experience, training, and/or skills you possess which have prepared you to supervise and manage staff.
4. Please describe any experience you have with managing projects  involving wastewater liquids and solids processing, industrial plant processes, or pump stations and force mains.
