The Associate Planner supports the Town’s planning and development functions by reviewing and analyzing a variety of land use and development applications to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position provides technical assistance and guidance to property owners, developers, and the public on zoning, design review, environmental assessment, and related planning matters. The Associate Planner also prepares staff reports, presents recommendations to the Planning Commission and Town Council, and contributes to long-term planning initiatives that promote thoughtful, sustainable development consistent with San Anselmo’s General Plan.

The Bolinas Fire Protection District is a combination paid/volunteer fire department providing services in emergency medical care, fire protection, disaster response, fire prevention and community education. Bolinas is a unique coastal community with approximately 1,500 year-round residents. Thousands of visitors are also attracted to our beaches and surrounding National Parks year-round. The District employs a full-time Chief, full-time Administrative Manager, and three full-time Firefighters. We also rely on the support of a dedicated group of approximately 20 volunteer firefighters and EMT’s. The department responds to approximately 300 emergency and public assistance calls annually, with approximately 80% medical aid calls.

DUTIES:

• Report to the Bolinas Fire Chief
• Perform scene command and personnel supervision during incidents
• Perform fire apparatus engineer and firefighting duties
• Perform fire prevention activities and public education
• Assist in leading volunteer trainings and support the volunteer firefighting program
• Provide BLS emergency medical care
• Drive and operate fire apparatus and related equipment
• Maintain fire station, grounds and related equipment & apparatus

• Possession of Firefighter 1 (FF1) certification from an accredited organization
• Possession of California Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification

DESCRIPTION

Summary: 
 Under general supervision, the Courier makes pickup and delivery of District inter-office mail, supplies, and equipment in accordance with District policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate a District vehicle to pick up and deliver items from all District facilities on a daily basis
• Pick up the daily deposit from community centers and ensure its safe delivery to accounting
• Move transportable equipment among district locations as requested
• Prepare outgoing mail, operate postage machine, and maintain records of postage used
• Maintain copy room supply inventory; submit office supply requisitions as needed
• Organize supplies and tidy copy room storage cabinets and workspaces
• Routinely inspect and maintain District vehicle driven, including checking fluid levels, replenishing fuel, and notifying supervisor of maintenance problems with vehicle or need for routine service

Qualifications:

This newly established role has been created to track and analyze department metrics in libraries, theatres, and community services.
