This is a single-class, non-safety position that performs a range of activities associated with wildfire-related emergency preparedness and prevention, including: overseeing vegetation management projects, supporting the development and maintenance of detection, alert, and evacuation systems, leading public outreach, and education campaigns, and promoting defensible space practices and home hardening strategies. The Extra Help Employee - Harmony House Coach position provides support, education, and advocacy to persons receiving services through the Mental Health Services Act. The Harmony House Coach may also provide a variety of services related to the operation of the Harmony House Drop-In Center and the Full Service Partnership Program. This position will provide welcoming and supportive activities, as well as perform tasks in support of facility operations at the center. The position is at-will, temporary, part-time and scheduled for up to twenty-five (25) hours per week.

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the City of Live Oak as a Part-Time Recreation Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities for community members of all ages. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical activity, creativity, and teamwork in a fun and safe environment.

Part-Time: Up to 20 hours a week 

Responsibilities:

The County of Yuba is currently establishing an eligibility list for the position of Victim Witness Advocate in the Probation Department. Under general supervision, assist victims and witnesses of crime by providing information, support, referral and advocacy services; monitor cases through the judicial system; conduct educational presentations regarding victim services; assist in completing victim compensation claims; and perform related work as assigned. This is the journey level in the victim witness advocate class series and is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment. Incumbents work initially under close supervision as they learn procedures and complex regulations and acquire the ability to apply the regulations. As experience is gained, an incumbent will work with more independence and carry an increasingly larger and/or more difficult caseload. 

Examples of Duties:

• Perform the delivery of supportive services to victims and witnesses, including crisis intervention, referrals to community service agencies, and follow-up services.
• Provide information regarding the criminal justice system, case status, restitution process and related information to victims and witnesses.  
• Interview victims of crime and/or their families to determine eligibility for Victims Program services; assist victims and their families with documentation necessary to file for compensation and restitution. 
• Make appropriate referrals to community agencies; refer clients to criminal justice agencies, public or private agencies to obtain supportive services; refer clients to professional counseling as needed; maintain contacts with other agencies regarding the status of individuals.
• Provide crisis intervention services such as immediate-needs referral for food, shelter, health care, clothing or protection.
• Arrange meetings with peace officers and attorneys; assist the Deputy District Attorney’s with interviews of victims and/or witnesses of a crime and provide an assessment of the victims’ reaction to crime, emotional state and ability and family dynamics.
• Maintain contact with victims and/or witnesses to coordinate court appearances; escort victims and/or witnesses to court; orient victims and/or witnesses for their participation in the criminal justice system; provide support during testimony at all phases of the trial process; obtain transportation services when needed; assist victims and their family during the court proceeding; keep victims and/or witnesses apprised of the status and disposition of cases; assist in the return of property to victims and/or witnesses.

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security. 

About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

This position provides support, mentoring, education, skill-building, advocacy, and youth-guided programming to persons receiving services at the Community Drop-In Youth TAY Center located in the Behavioral Health Division at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency. The incumbent will work as part of Behavioral Health with the Transition Age Youth Team delivering outreach/engagement and supportive service to youth and families on school campuses, in the community, and/or at the TAY Center. Individuals between the ages of sixteen and twenty-four (16-24) years of age are encouraged to apply. The Town of Los Gatos is recruiting for an IT Technician to work in a dynamic, customer service-oriented and fast-paced environment where problem solving, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and strong communication skills are a must. The IT Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, peripheral equipment, and Town-wide electronic mail systems; assesses user training needs and trains users in effective use of applications; makes recommendations regarding hardware and software acquisitions; prepares documentation and provides user assistance to Town staff; and performs related work as required. This position will report to the IT Director. Schedule & Other Information: The IT Technician position is a temporary (up to 20 hours per week), at-will, non-benefited position limited to 999 hours of employment in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). This position is not eligible for a remote or hybrid work schedule.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field such as computer science, information technology systems or a related field, and one year of experience in information systems and support.

Substitution: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in information systems and support may substitute the required education and completion of high school or equivalent.  Experience substitutions are determined at the discretion of the Town of Los Gatos.

Under the general direction of the Town Manager, plans, schedules, and directs the work of the Public Works Department, which includes providing supervision of street improvements, permits, traffic control, pavement markings, parks and public landscaping, storm drains, street sweeping, building maintenance, and general engineering functions; performs related work as required.

EXAMPLES  OF DUTIES

Prepares and presents public works related items and issues to the Town Council. Plans and supervises the capital improvement program, street maintenance program, storm drain and disaster related repairs and all aspects and equipment related thereto; periodically inspects streets and all public facilities for deficiencies and recommends corrective actions and priority of work; estimates labor, materials, and oversees initiation of projects including street openings, retaining walls, flood control and drainage facilities; manages the Town’s participation in the Marin County storm water pollution prevention program; manages the Town’s GIS program; prepares plans and specifications for bidding procedures; interacts with the Consulting Town Engineer and/or supervises engineering functions; provides complex and responsible administrative support to the Town Manager; prepares departmental budget and controls expenditures; personnel administration within the department; participates in code enforcement and in other activities, as required.

California-licensed Professional Civil Engineer are eligible for an additional 2% differential above base salary.

New, Full-time regular hire Civil Engineers are eligible to receive a $10,000.00 signing bonus, which will be split into two equal payments: 50% at the time of hire (i.e. first paycheck) and the remaining 50% after successful completion of their probationary period.

There are two (2) Full Time Regular Hire vacancies, one (1) in the Engineering Division and one (1) in the Land Development Division.

The Civil Engineer helps define, design and/or review minor projects and phases of large civil engineering projects with complex budgets and timelines. This position exercises substantial initiative, judgment, and expertise to meet program and project needs. The Civil Engineer may be responsible for designing projects, reviewing project plans and specifications prepared by consultants, or reviewing development applications. The Civil Engineer helps in selecting consultants, preparing contract documents, and administering contracts during construction. This position provides direction and mentorship to more junior staff and oversees both technical and administrative work to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively for the public good.

Engineering Division
Projects may include such things as: bridge repair and replacement, culvert repair and replacement, new retaining walls, pavement management, road improvements, new stormwater management devices, new traffic management devices and others.

Land Development Division
Projects include a full range of private development from improvements to single family homes and small businesses to new subdivisions with extensive new infrastructure. This position issues and oversees permits such as grading, creek and quarry permits, supports the Road Commissioner role by issuing encroachment permits, transportation permits, and film permits, ensures private development project comply with stormwater regulations, floodplain management requirements, and use of the public rights-of-way, interacts with the public at the Counter and in meetings, and coordinates with the Community Development Agency to develop conditions of approval for development projects.

Hybrid schedule:
The Department of Public Works has embraced a hybrid work schedule that considers that some duties of this position may be performed remotely. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments, and/or disaster service work upon short notice, as needed and deemed appropriate. During the initial probationary period, the successful candidate may be required to work primarily onsite before establishing a hybrid work schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers and three years of increasingly responsible engineering experience.
