The City of Lincoln is hiring for a seasonal Maintenance Worker II within the Parks and Facilities Division of the Public Works Department.

The Department is looking for an individual with at least three years of responsible experience performing municipal parks maintenance. Course work and training in maintenance, agronomy, horticulture, forestry, natural resource management, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, janitorial or related field is highly desirable.  A successful candidate will have the ability to obtain a Class B Driver’s License within one year of employment.

Under general supervision, this position performs the full array of duties assigned to classes in the Maintenance Worker series including maintenance, construction and equipment operation work in one or more Public Works divisions; occasionally assists in the training of lower-level Maintenance Workers; and performs other related duties as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Maintenance Worker II is the journey level class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and construction tasks. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Maintenance Worker in that the latter performs more complex assignments and lead responsibilities.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

The Maintenance Worker II receives general supervision from a Public Works Supervisor. May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs maintenance, repair, construction, equipment operation and installation work in parks and buildings.
• Parks and Buildings: Maintains lawns, shrubs, and trees; assists in spraying of herbicides and pesticides; cuts, sprays and removes weeds; clears brush and debris; assists with planting and maintenance of landscaped areas; installs, maintains, repairs and programs irrigation systems; cleans and maintains parks and city buildings; assists in the performance of minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and remodeling tasks.
• Fills out reports and work orders; climbs or uses hydraulic aerial devices to top, trim, reshape, strip, treat and remove trees; operates airport fueling vehicles; responds to after-hours call-outs if assigned.
• Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; may provide training to lower level staff; responds to questions and concerns from the general public; provides information as is appropriate and resolves public service complaints.

• Establishes positive working relationships with representatives of community organizations, state/local agencies, City management and staff, and the public.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, operate hydraulic aerial devices, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

Position Duties  

The Department of Public Works is recruiting to fill an Information Systems Analyst (ISA) position within the Enterprise GIS (Geographic Information Systems) team.  

Salary range(s) for this classification is $137,089.68- $167,032.32 annually. This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.  

The Enterprise GIS team operates out of the Department of Public Works but works across the city to coordinate GIS efforts, lead multi-departmental GIS projects, geospatially-enable City business systems, and administer Enterprise GIS infrastructure for citywide use. The city has standardized on a modern technology stack consisting of Windows Server, Esri ArcGIS platform, VertiGIS Studio, Safe Software FME, and SQL Server enterprise geodatabases. The city has an enterprise license agreement with Esri, and the Enterprise GIS team maintains a large Enterprise GIS server environment with public and internal-facing ArcGIS Server instances, complementary ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online organizations, an SDE environment featuring a data catalog with over 1,000 feature classes, and integrations with dozens of business systems.   

The ISA is a professional-level position in the IT professional management series and responsible for GIS system administration, database design, business system integration, application development, and implementation of large-scale enterprise projects. The position requires a GIS professional with broad technical experience as well as the ability to take initiative and direct others. The ideal candidate must be a strong individual contributor that is able to take full ownership of projects, designing solutions in alignment with City Enterprise GIS standards and industry best practices and working at a hands-on level to build, implement, and support such solutions. The position also demands proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with limited resources. Advanced knowledge of the ArcGIS platform and experience with GIS server administration is required. Experience with VertiGIS Studio and GIS web application development in an Esri environment is highly desirable.   

The GIS ISA reports to the Enterprise GIS Manager. This position is responsible for programming that supports the development and maintenance of major applications used citywide.  

Key responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:   

• Administer Enterprise GIS server environment (ArcGIS Enterprise, VertiGIS Studio, FME Server), including planning for and conducting system upgrades; applying and confirming patches; capacity planning and load testing; publishing and tuning services; managing backups; troubleshooting and resolving system issues; managing security policies, user accounts, roles, and permissions; and maintaining system documentation. 

• Meet with business owners and end users to gather and document requirements for GIS solutions. Design, build, and deploy mapping applications on the ArcGIS platform. Provide documentation, training, and support to end users.  

• Develop and maintain web mapping applications using VertiGIS Studio Web 5.x, including web map authoring, site configuration, and development of print templates, reports, and workflows.  

• Develop and maintain complex geoprocessing routines and ETL workbenches using FME and/or Python.  

• Conduct data modeling and design activities for new datasets by analyzing inputs and developing appropriate schemas in alignment with City standards. 

• Build and support GIS integrations with City business systems.  

• Lead large-scale, cross-department Enterprise GIS projects. Work collaboratively with departments to reduce program redundancies and support effective use of enterprise resources. Train end users on enterprise standards and best practices; provide development oversight and guidance. 

In addition, this position is part of a team responsible for providing GIS support in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when activated.

Salary range for this classification is $77,355.20 - $94,036.80 annually. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.  

This Facility Repair Worker position will be stationed at San José City Hall. City Hall is an 18-story high-rise structure which adds maintenance and operational challenges. In addition to the typical duties of a Facility Repair Worker, the successful candidate will maintain the potable/reclaimed water systems, learn how to maintain pressure variances in the systems, operate and maintain a large water feature/fountain on site, and work in high locations utilizing a scissor-lift and ReachMaster® 138 ft. boom lift. City Hall houses the upper management of most of the city departments, as well as the Mayor and City Council Offices. The ability to work in a politically sensitive environment is essential. 

Other duties of this position include, but are not limited to: 

• Proactive maintenance of roofs and roof water drainage systems; 

• Ability to install and modify office space cubicles, including ergonomic adjustments; 

• Skilled at painting techniques and proper cleanup for small and larger surfaces, including graffiti removal; 

• Perform drywall repair; 

• Experienced in maintaining and repairing various plumbing fixtures and resolving plumbing issues (clogs, drainage, flushometer repair, piping work, mixing valve repairs, sink and faucet repairs); 

• Monthly inspections of fire sprinkler systems and pumps; 

• Flooring repair, including carpet and tile work; 

• Familiarity with fire control panels; 

• Experience in motors, pumps, and other architectural water feature infrastructure; 

• Knowledge of fundamental provisions of various codes related to the maintenance and repair of facilities; 

• Knowledge and experience related to door and lock repair and replacement work, which include electronic access control door hardware and door operators;   

• Ability to draw sketches and plans for assigned projects, estimate the materials needed, and record keeping;

The Process Control Technician performs a variety of technical and professional engineering duties related to the design, installation, set-up, programming, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware, software and instrumentation associated with the District’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

The City of Sebastopol is seeking two diligent, energetic, dependable Administrative Technicians, one to serve in the Public Works Department and the other will serve the Building and Community Development departments. The Administrative Technician will perform a variety of technical-level administrative duties in support of an assigned City department or program. Duties may include areas relating to finance, grants, building, planning, public works, engineering, or general support of City operations. The selected candidates will conduct research, collect and analyze data, and prepare draft reports. In addition to tracking and reporting operational statistics, this position provides technical assistance to management. This is a lead position, assigning, reviewing, and training the work of other lower-level support staff.

This position will perform clerical duties such as answering phones, providing office support services, and ordering supplies for the department. In addition, the position will manage budget tracking operations that include Springbook reports, invoicing, and project close-outs. The Administrative Technician will oversee contract processing, special event permit processing, and California Department of Industrial Relations(DIR) registrations. This position will also serve as the Water Conservation Coordinator, providing news to the public on drought reports and Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs) within the City.

For the position located in City Hall: The Administrative Technician will report to the City’s Building Official or Community Development Director at City Hall, 7120 Bodega Avenue, Sebastopol, CA 95472. The primary duties of this assignment will serve as the main City contact at the City’s public counter, providing support to the Building and Community Development departments. The Principal Engineer/Architect will support the Library Department (LD) in leading the coordination for the Library Facilities and Customer Experience Planning. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving critical infrastructure initiatives, including supporting the implementation of the California State Library Building Forward Infrastructure Grant projects and managing capital and facilities planning processes in collaboration with the LD and consultants. This individual will act as a leader, ensuring timely and effective project execution, and delivering results that meet organizational and state funding objectives.  

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Principal Engineer/Architect will require the ability to extensively collaborate across the LD, the DPW, Planning, Building and Code Enforcement (PBCE) and other contractors/vendors, while maintaining adherence to budgets, timelines, and plans. • Lead the design and construction of major public works projects, in partnership with the Library Department.  

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, technicians, and inspectors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and consistent services. 

• Oversee engineering/architectural or other technical research; review, analyze, and prepare recommendations to Senior and Executive staff regarding project and/or program scope or objectives. 

• Direct and coordinate the preparation of cost estimates and project and/or program budgets; monitor budgets and schedules for performance. 

• Consult with Senior and Executive staff, contractors, other departments, and consultants to plan, design, and construct major engineering/architectural and/or other technical projects. 

• Direct and coordinate the creation, planning, and management of capital budgets and staffing plans to successfully deliver capital projects. 

• Oversee the planning and execution of the procurements of design consultants and construction contracts. 

• Partner with the department’s other executive staff to lead transformation, training, and other process improvement efforts in the City’s capital improvement program.

The City of Dixon is looking to fill one full-time, regular position of Accountant in the Finance Department. This position performs professional level accounting functions such as recording and reporting financial transactions, review of financial records; provides fiscal control for assigned areas of operation, preparation of financial report statements and analyzes. This is not a remote position and work schedule will be Monday through Friday, onsite.

Accountant - This classification is the entry level, mid-management position in the accounting series. Professional level work is performed, and incumbents are expected to perform the full range of accounting duties with minimal supervision. Senior Transportation Planner (Temporary/Hourly)
Salary: $$65.0163 - $83.5561 per hour

The Town of Los Gatos is accepting applications for a temporary/unbenefited Senior Transportation Planner position in the Parks and Public Works Department. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop a vital role within our organization.

The Senior Transportation Planner will focus on managing projects and programs that support sustainable transportation opportunities for the Town while addressing and improving mobility, safety, environmental, social, and economic conditions around transportation. The selected candidate will support the Town’s ongoing initiatives around transportation planning, including identifying grant programs and managing transportation planning-related projects.  

The Ideal Candidate
The Town is looking for an experienced transportation professional who is visionary and innovative with strong leadership skills, passion for community engagement, and commitment to customer service. They will be results-oriented with strong communication skills, including public speaking, writing, listening, persuasion, and facilitation with the following experience:

• Researching, applying for, and managing State and Federal transportation grants.
• Presenting to elected and appointed officials, the public, and other stakeholders.
• Bicycle and pedestrian master planning on a community wide basis, both the planning phase of the work and project implementation/management. 
• Variety of mobility-related projects and programs, including bicycle, pedestrian and rideshare.
• VTA process and procedures. 
• Parking program management.

Schedule: This is a temporary, hourly, at-will, non-benefited position limited to 999 hours of employment in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30), up to 25 hours per week. The normal workweek is Monday through Friday, however, you may be occasionally required to attend evening meetings. 

About the Department
The Parks and Public Works Department (PPW) is responsible for the maintenance and improvements of the Town's public parks, facilities, streets, and other infrastructure.  Our goal is to efficiently provide residents, businesses, and visitors with the highest quality service possible, with dedication and professionalism.  The Department has five service areas: Engineering, Capital Improvement, Streets and Signals, Parks, and Environmental Services. The Department also collaborates with all Town departments, and external partners and stakeholders.

• Engineering Services: The Engineering team provides services in the areas of encroachment permits and permitting and inspection of other work in the public right of way, including situations where new developments need to provide improvements in the right of way.  
   
• Capital Improvement: The Capital Improvement team develops and constructs capital projects across all Town assets, including improvements to roads, streetlights, parks, and Town buildings. See the annual capital budget for a list of current capital projects.
   
• Streets and Signals: The Streets and Signals team maintains the Town’s roadways, signs, and traffic signals. Traffic plays a big part in this team’s daily work as they seek to meet the needs of the community.  This includes traffic on major streets as well as on neighborhood streets where traffic calming can be a solution.
   
• Park Services: The Park Services team maintains the Town’s parks, trails, open spaces, facility grounds, median islands, parking lot landscaping, downtown planters, and the urban forest as well as administering park use fees and reservations.
   
• Environment Services: The Environmental Services team ensures that the Town is at the forefront of environmental stewardship. This team also manages the Town’s utilities, including the contract with West Valley Collection and Recycling for garbage service Town wide.

About the Town
The Town of Los Gatos is a general law city operating under the Council/Manager form of government. The Town Manager and Town Attorney are appointed and directly report to the Town Council. The Town’s 150 full- and part-time employees are organized into the following departments: Parks & Public Works, Community Development, Police, Library; and Administrative Services.

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

General Duties

• Provides program area expertise, project support, and coordination and collaborates with Parks and Public Works staff and other Town Departments on complex, highly visible, and politically significant transportation-related policies, projects, and issues
• Evaluates the complex and often sensitive and competing aspects of transportation planning decisions.
• Attends meetings of the Town Council, the Development Review Committee, Planning Commission and/or the Complete Streets and Transportation Commission and other Town Commissions as directed.
• Builds and maintains positive working relationships with coworkers, other Town employees, elected officials, and the general public, exhibiting exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Participates in regional planning and working groups and serves as the liaison for the boards and working groups as requested.

Grants Management

• Develops and submits transportation-related grant applications from various local, state, and federal funding sources; oversees proper execution and expenditure of grant funds received.

Safe Routes to School Program

• Manages funding for and implementation of the Town’s Safe Routes to School program.

Multi-Modal Transportation Activities

• Manages updates to pedestrian and bicycle masterplans; develops, updates, distributes, and promotes Town programs, policies, educational materials, and projects to improve pedestrian, bicycle, and other forms of mobility and to encourage safe practices of all forms of mobility; serve as staff liaison to the Town’s Complete Streets and Transportation Commission.
• Coordinates planning for bicycle and pedestrian facilities in cooperation with other Town Departments, regional agencies, and community organizations.
• Performs other transportation related duties as assigned.

Parking Programs

• Oversees the Town’s Parking Programs.
• Oversees the work of and administers contracts for transportation and parking consultants.
• Develops policies, procedures, and operational actions related to effective parking management, including periodic review of parking-related policy issues such as rates, time limits, enforcement hours, loading zones, and other issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
 
Education: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in transportation planning, city and regional planning, urban studies, civil engineering, or closely related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in transportation development programs, including two (2) years of project management.  A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university is desirable.

License and Certification: 

• A California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment. 
• Possession of a Certificate of Registration as Professional Transportation Planner or Professional Engineer in the State of California, or certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners is highly desirable.
