The Junior and/or Assistant Engineer will support and gradually lead a variety of projects related to infrastructure improvements, traffic system operations and upgrades, development plan review and permitting, and more. • Develops Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and participate with other department staff in the selection of consulting engineers.
• Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates pertaining to construction projects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Junior Engineer is the entry level engineer classification. The position requires a BS degree in Civil Engineering and does not require any formal work experience or engineering certification.
   
• Assistant Engineer is the initial classification in the engineering job class series requiring EIT and two years of Junior Engineer level experience (a master’s degree shall count for 1 year of post degree engineering experience).

 

LICENSES

• Assistant Engineer requires an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

The roles in the Accounting series support the City’s finance team by performing complex accounting tasks, preparing and reconciling financial data, assisting with the payroll and budget processes, and delivering responsive customer service.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Technician classification has a solid background in the municipal accounting process and regulatory compliance, can prepare clear and accurate financial reports, has some experience with payroll software, Excel, and payroll processing, and communicates effectively while working collaboratively and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting month-end, quarterly, and year-end accounting and reporting activities, and may assist with payroll-related filings, labor cost analysis, and audit support. THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael, Child Care Division is accepting applications for Child Care Aide to work in our School-Age Program.  We are looking for people who are available Monday thru Friday from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.  This is a great part-time position for someone who attends school in the morning.  No weekend work required!

This position performs the following essential job duties (including but not limited to):

• Assist Director and Instructors in planning and implementing activities.
• Assist in the supervision of children at the child care center or on outings/trips.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and materials.
• Assist in the preparation and cleanup of snacks.
• Other related duties as assigned.

To be eligible for this position you must have knowledge of:

• Child guidance methods.
• Developmentally-appropriate practices and curriculum.

To be eligible for this position you must possess the ability to:

• Accept direction from supervisor.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships.
• Work as scheduled.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Some experience with school age children, preferably 6 months.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Department of Justice and FBI fingerprint clearance
• Prefer possession of a valid California Driver’s License
• Must have a current TB test clearance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to perform physical activities such as but not limited to lifting or carrying children or heavy items (up to 40 lbs.) unassisted, reaching, bending, standing, or walking. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. FIREFIGHTER-PARAMEDIC (LATERAL)

 

 

Lateral Incentive Compensation Package:

• Placement at Step C of the Firefighter-Paramedic salary range upon hire; $137,262 annually
• Starting balance of 48 hours of vacation leave and 60 hours of sick leave
• Eligible for incentive pays immediately upon hire, based upon qualifications and assignment

The Firefighter-Paramedic protects life, property, and the environment by performing firefighting activities, emergency medical aid, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention duties. The position is also responsible for maintaining fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• CA State Firefighter 1 or completion of CA State Board of Fire Service Firefighter 1 curriculum prior to appointment
• Valid California Paramedic License (or equivalent); or ability to obtain prior to appointment
• 1-year experience as a full-time paid Firefighter/Paramedic
