The City of Orinda Planning Department seeks a strong customer-service oriented Planning Technician to primarily staff the Planning Counter and process code-enforcement cases. Depending on experience, the successful candidate may also gain opportunities to assist with various current and long-range planning tasks. This non-exempt position reports to the Director of Planning.

DEFINITION
Perform technical building inspection work to enforce compliance with California State building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, green building and energy codes; research new construction materials and methods; reviews plans for compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations; and provide information to and work with the public to resolve problems.
Annual Salary: $149,472 - $198,792 (placement in this range depends on qualifications)
The Economic Development Manager will plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage the activities of the economic development program utilizing specialized knowledge and skills to develop and implement strategies and projects to encourage business attraction, retention and expansion.

The Dispatcher II acts as the Department’s primary dispatcher, receiving and relaying incoming calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance; dispatching police units; operating a variety of telecommunications equipment including radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch systems; status monitoring, records and file maintenance in a computer-aided environment; and entry level dispatch training.
