The Public Works Program Manager leads and supports a team of engineering and technical staff while overseeing the Engineering Division within the Public Works Agency. This role is responsible for directing complex engineering programs; reviewing and evaluating technical work products, methods, and procedures; and ensuring all activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Under the direction of the Public Works Director, this position provides direct supervision, establishes project schedules and work plans, prepares and administers budgets, and ensures engineering services are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with agency goals.

• Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations relevant to engineering and public works programs
• Ability to understand, interpret, and apply technical standards, engineering principles, and administrative requirements to division operations
• Proficiency in analyzing engineering and administrative problems, evaluating technical work methods, and recommending effective improvements or modifications
• Skill in reviewing, prioritizing, and supervising technical and professional engineering work, including complex reports, calculations, and project plans
• Competence in applying advanced mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistical analysis to engineering tasks and program evaluation.

The City of Patterson is recruiting for two (2) Firefighter EMT or Firefighter Paramedic positions.  This safety position will respond to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, traffic accidents, rescue, and other emergency calls to protect life and property.  This position will also participate in trainings, drills, study activities, and in the maintenance of the department apparatus, equipment, and facilities.  Under the supervision of the Fire Engineer or Fire Captain, provides first responder basic life support (EMT) or performs ALS (paramedic) care to patients of medical emergencies and other medical procedures. Performs other duties as required.

THE JOB

Responsible for the safety, supervision, discipline, and customer service of all persons using the City of Live Oak Pool facilities.  Generally, works under direct supervision of the Lifeguard Supervisor or Parks and Recreation Director.  Must be willing to work other than normal work hours and be available to work as scheduled based upon the need of the department.  Must be able to attend Pre-season training, and successfully pass a lifeguard skills review.  Must be 15 years of age or older, and wear Department of Recreation staff swimwear.  Employee may be asked to provide assistance and/or accommodations to include participants with disabilities.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

For Lifeguards and Instructors: Possession of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate (LGT) AND a valid CPR Certificate AND First Aid for Public Safety Personnel, California Title 22. SENIOR PLANNER

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional planning responsibilities and tasks associated with the coordination and implementation of complex planning projects; performs a variety of duties relating to the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of technical land use, environmental, zoning, and other City planning data.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the advanced journey level in the professional planning class series. The position is characterized by the level of technical expertise and skill and independent oversight of out of the ordinary, high profile, complex and atypical projects, while functioning as the project coordinator, working with and leading interdisciplinary teams. The Senior Planner is distinguished from the Associate Planner by the complexity and technical expertise required to work on assigned projects.

The Director of Public Works is a regular, full-time, administrative, at-will, exempt position. Experience: Eight years of increasingly responsible experience in public sector construction management, public works maintenance management, or related activity including three years of management and administrative responsibility in a municipal setting. License or Certificate: Possession of an appropriate, valid driver’s license.

The City of Patterson is seeking to fill several part-time Recreation Leader positions in the Recreation Department for their Summer program.  Duties include, but are not limited to: officiate youth sports, score keep, and field preparation; interact with coaches, parents, and children ages 5-18; organize and teach participants special interest classes such as dance, music, arts & crafts, etc. and with assistance coordinate, schedule, and plan the programs; ensures participant safety and well being during all activities; ensures the proper handling of first aid and emergency situations.
