Definition: Under the supervision and in coordination with the program director, you will help plan curriculum, assist in leading activities, engage with elementary school aged-children and provide guidance for our Afterschool Programs at Old Mill Elementary School in Mill Valley. Program hours are M, T, Th, F PM 2:20pm – 5:30pm and Wed. 1:15pm – 5:30pm Approximately 15 – 20 hours a week. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communicate effectively with co-workers, parents, and children. 
• Possess strong leadership skills in one or more of the following areas: art, crafts, sports, drama, cooking.
• Manage the task of checking in and checking out each child to the proper guardian.
• Encourage good behavior and appropriate manners.
• Encourage active play, read books and provide a safe and nurturing environment.
• Implement and lead appropriate activities for 1st – 5th grade aged children.
• Supervise play activities and ensure the safety of the children during such activities.
• Supervise and engage students during the afterschool program hours.
• Motivate participants through example.
• Must be a team player and have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Create and maintain a positive afterschool environment.
• Accurately maintain attendance records.
• Practice proper hygiene, with self and children, to deter the spread of disease (colds, flu, etc).
• Render first aid in case of minor injuries.
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
• The ability to speak English clearly and understandably.
• Perform related duties as required.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education, training, and experience, which likely provides the required knowledge and abilities.

This is a non-sworn, civilian training classification to be used while incumbent is attending a certified P.O.S.T. Basic Police Academy.  Incumbent in this classification receives the same employee benefits as Police Officers, with the exception of being placed in the “Miscellaneous” retirement category until successful completion of a designated police academy, and as a civilian employee, will not be covered by government code sections 4850 and 3300 through 3311.  Upon successful completion of an academy, incumbent shall be sworn as a Police Officer, placed in the safety retirement category and begin an 18-month probationary period as a Police Officer on the date of swearing in. 

Education: 

• High school graduate or its equivalent. 
• Completion of 30 semester (or equivalent quarter) units from an accredited college or university preferred. 

Physical Capabilities/Vision:

• Must be capable of performing the full range of work assigned to a Police Officer free from physical, mental or emotional restrictions, which would adversely impact job performance. 
• All vision must be corrected to 20/20.
• Must be free from color blindness and have a normal field of vision.

The City of Sebastopol is seeking a dynamic, professional leader who is a collaborative problem-solver to serve as the next Planning Director. The Planning Director will direct, oversee, and materially participate in the work of the City’s Planning Department, including current and long-range planning, maintenance of the General Plan, Housing Element, and zoning codes, and review of proposals for construction and development within the City of Sebastopol. The selected candidate will coordinate activities, permits, and projects with other City departments. The Planning Director performs professional planning duties in the fields of long-range planning, current planning, and building permitting, including a variety of diverse professional planning assignments. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Process Control Technician performs a variety of technical and professional engineering duties related to the design, installation, set-up, programming, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware, software and instrumentation associated with the District’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

They support Operations and Maintenance by troubleshooting, researching, designing, purchasing, and installing field instrumentation, programmable logic controller (PLC), operator interface terminals (OIT), variable speed drives, electrical systems, and other appurtenances. The Process Control Technician provides PLC and OIT programming and installation support making programming changes as required for the efficient operation of new and existing District facilities.

Qualifications
