The Novato Sanitary District is seeking a highly motivated, and goal-driven individual to join our Collection System team as a Collection System Worker (CSW). The District will hire at the level of CSW I or CSW II depending on skills, certifications and licenses held by candidates in the pool of qualified applicants. 

The CSW performs a wide variety of tasks associated with the maintenance of wastewater collection and reclamation systems, including inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs on lines, pump stations, and treatment facilities. The successful CSW I candidate will possess experience in general maintenance tasks, including the safe and effective operation of a variety of hand and power tools and equipment. Possession of a commercial driver's license is highly desirable. Experience working with sewer cleaning trucks and equipment is also a plus. The successful CSW II candidate will have three or more years of experience in collection system maintenance. Experience in pump station maintenance is highly desirable.

POLICE OFFICER - Academy Graduate - $8,134 to $11,030 per month (up to $12,684 with incentives)

Police Officers can serve in patrol, traffic, investigations, and K-9 assignments. Other collateral opportunities include instructor positions (Firearms and Force Options Team), Regional SWAT, Mobile Field Force, 10851 Task Force, CSI, Regional Major Accident Investigation Team, Driving Team with firearms and force options team, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), FBI Safe Streets Task Force, SET Team, Drone Team, Social Media Team, Community Resource Officer, School Resource Officer, and Field Training Officers. Specialty assignments may add an additional 5% pay. 

Officers work 12-hour shifts as part of a team concept. Shift schedules include 4-10 and 3-12, which may be changed periodically as job assignments may be rotated among patrol, traffic, and criminal investigation.  Night shifts include 5% additional pay. 

EDUCATION:

Academy Graduates (no sworn experience) - High school diploma and a minimum of 45 units of college-level course work, in addition to graduation from a P.O.S.T. basic academy.

Academy Graduate candidates with an honorable discharge may be credited with up to 15 semester units for a minimum of 3 years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard).

After School Program Technician I's work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist II. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19-29 hours per week.

The Position: Under general supervision, this position involves organizing, leading, and coordinating a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational and educational activities for an Afterschool Program. This role is classified as Temporary Part-Time to support both seasonal and year-round recreational programs.

On April 29, 2025, Suisun City Council approved a new contract between the Suisun City RPM Department and the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD). This agreement expands after school programming to include to grades TK-5 at Dan O. Root Elementary and Crescent Elementary Schools, making the Suisun City RPM Department the sole provider of after school services at both locations. The City of Sebastopol is looking for a respectful, compassionate, empathetic Police Officer Trainee. The selected candidate must be currently enrolled or enrolled at a future date as a self-sponsored recruit in a certified Peace Officer Standards & Training Council (P.O.S.T.) Police Academy. The Police Officer Trainee is a non-sworn, training-level classification requiring no prior law enforcement experience. The incumbent performs a variety of entry-level police support duties in a learning capacity. The selected candidate will assist and observe Police Officers and civilian police personnel.

The successful candidate will attend the Police Academy to obtain a Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate of Completion, and perform related work which may require public contact but not the enforcement of laws. Police Officer Trainees attend a POST certified Police Academy, which follows a standardized curriculum in order to provide them with basic training in various aspects of policing, many of which are prescribed by law and/or statute.

The Police Academy training is designed to provide the candidate the necessary skillsets to prepare them for consideration for promotion to a probationary Police Officer position within the City and begin the Sebastopol Police Department’s Field Training Officer program. Attendance and successful completion of a Police Academy is a legal requirement to be hired as a Police Officer within the State of California and is a requirement for a City of Sebastopol Police Officer Trainee to be considered for promotion to probationary Police Officer with the City of Sebastopol.

The selected self-sponsored academy candidates will receive a conditional offer upon a qualified application and full hourly pay while attending the police academy.

The City of Newark is seeking an experienced skateboarding instructor who can connect with participants of all ages, especially youth and teens. The Recreation Instructor will be responsible for the planning and implementation of skateboarding classes to be held at Mel Nunes Skatepark in Newark. Responsibilities include teaching fundamental techniques, promoting safety, and creating an encouraging environment where participants can build confidence and have fun while learning to skate.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be Available for a variety of shifts and times to meet program needs including weekends.

THE POSITION:  Under direct supervision, the Accounting Technician performs technical accounting tasks in the area of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and other financial transactions; balances and maintains accounting and financial records; and performs related work as required. As knowledge and experience are gained, the work becomes broader in scope, assignments are more varied and are performed under more general supervision.

The Position

The Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Aging and Family Services Division. The mission of the Aging and Family Services Division is to foster a high quality of life for older adults through its Senior Support Services. The Senior Support Services employs a team of caring professionals from diverse backgrounds which include social workers, a public health nurse, counselors, and peers who will work closely with other department staff to provide cohesive wrap-around services for older adults and their families.

Examples of Job Duties

• Develop and maintain systems necessary to support effective and efficient Senior Support Programs. This includes the responsibilities of: supervising a multi-disciplinary team; monitoring contractual and billing procedures; electronic charting requirements; working with other providers and referral organizations; utilization review and methods for integrating the work of the Aging and Family Services Division and Human Services Department.

This position reports to the Public Works Director and supervises a talented team of professional, technical, and paraprofessional staff. The City Engineer will also act in the absence of the Public Works Director, providing crucial leadership and decision-making in the department. 

A few key aspects of this position are: 

• Leadership & Supervision: Direct the activities of the Engineering Division by assigning, supervising, and evaluating the work of staff and ensure that city projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with legal requirements. 

• Project Oversight: Lead the development and implementation of major street, transportation, and capital projects through plan and specification review, bidding process management, and construction and inspection. 

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all private development and public improvement plans comply with state and local codes, including the preparation and review of subdivision maps and stormwater management initiatives. 

• Capital Improvement Management: Administer the City’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), including project selection, budget oversight, and coordination with City Council and other stakeholders. 

• Grant Applications & Management: Apply for federal and state grants to fund various public works projects. Monitor the expenditure and compliance of awarded grants. 

• Collaboration & Communication: Provide guidance to other City departments and the public on civil engineering and urban development matters. Represent the City in regional discussions and public meetings.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING 

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a closely related field. 

Experience: 

• Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional civil engineering work including three (3) years of supervisory and project management experience. 

License: 

• Possession of a valid driver license and a satisfactory driving record throughout employment. 

• Current registration as a Civil Engineer in California.
