ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operator II/III position plays a key role in the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the City’s wastewater treatment facilities. The successful candidate will be appointed at the Operator II or Operator III level based on qualifications and experience.

Under general direction, this position operates, monitors, and maintains the wastewater treatment plant, lift stations, trunk sewers, outfall, and related facilities. Responsibilities include adjusting treatment processes to meet NPDES permit requirements, utilizing SCADA systems to monitor and control plant operations, performing preventive maintenance on plant equipment, collecting and analyzing wastewater and sludge samples, and maintaining accurate operational records.

At the Operator III level, additional responsibilities may include advanced process optimization, technical leadership, administrative and reporting duties, CMMS oversight, contractor coordination, and providing support to or acting in the absence of the Chief Treatment Plant Operator. This position requires flexibility to work off-hour, weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts and to respond to emergency situations as needed.

The City of Sausalito is seeking candidates who have a passion for planning and building, love people, and are avid learners to fill one full-time Permit Technician position to serve the Planning and Building Divisions in the Community Development Department.

Sausalito employees in this unit work four nine-hour days, Monday - Thursday for 36 hours a week.

The successful candidate will work seamlessly supporting the Planning team, Code Enforcement, the Building Inspector, and Chief Building Official in processing permit applications and in providing public counter services for both the planning and building divisions of the Community Development Department. 

The Building and Planning Permit Technician processes permits, issues over the counter permits, collects fees, advises the public, routes and collects plans to and from appropriate departments or consultants, reviews basic drawings and plans and permit packages for completeness, and performs related administrative/general office support and other duties as assigned to support both the building and planning divisions of the community development department. POSITION

To plan, organize and manage all activities and programs for a specified division of library operations or services, to include the supervision, coordination, promotion and evaluation of division program.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in our Teen Programs within the Woodland Public Library, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

Library Program Manager II: This is the journey level class in the professional library series. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the lower class of Librarian Program Manager I, or when filled from the outside, require prior professional library work experience.  Appointment to the higher class requires that the employee be performing substantially the full range of duties for the class and meet the qualification standards for the class. Work in this class is distinguished from that of a Library Program Manager I by greater complexity of the assignments received and by greater independence with which an incumbent is expected to operate.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Develops and interprets division policies.
• Coordinates program planning and service delivery for the division.

• Coordinates staff review of programs, services and policies for evaluation and improvement.

• Coordinates program planning with school Librarians to ensure complementary services to students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education
Library Program Manager I and II
Possession of a Master of Library Sciences Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience

A minimum of four (4) years' responsible experience in a professional librarian capacity, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity and one (1) year of managing programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist in conducting preliminary studies of engineering projects and help prepare plans for public improvements such as streets, storm drains, sewers, water works, and other public projects. Supervise, coordinate and perform professional engineering work in the design and construction of, streets, sidewalks, water and sewage facilities, and drainage structures, and other public work. Review plans, maps, specifications, cost estimates, and other work for accuracy, presentation, and conformance with established engineering practices. Perform field inspections of public works construction projects, materials testing, survey work and calculations. Prepare preliminary drawings for public works projects, tabulate field data, design improvement plans, specifications, contracts, and other documents.  Make calculations in surveying and other construction work. Assist in preparation of long-range capital improvement programs and budgets. Prepare written staff reports for departmental use and/or presentation to the City Council and City Commissions. THE POSITION

To perform responsible clerical work and administrative duties involved with billing and collection of business registrations; the maintenance and review of licensing and permitting records; the entry of data processing; and/or assisting in the review and input of building permit applications, cannabis permits, and mobile food vendor permits.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Community Development Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepare and process business registrations.  Collect payments over the counter and through the mail.  Balance cash drawers and reconcile end of day receipts.  Set-up and maintain customers on a computer system.  Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of statistical reports as assigned.  Input purchase requisitions into computer system.  Enter and verify invoices for payment. Respond to routine permitting inquiries and provide customer service to the public at the permit counter, and/or via telephone, email, or fax.  Research and communicate the status of permits for applicants. Work with Building Inspectors and/or Code Compliance Officers to schedule inspections and pull related permits.  Process various transactions involving business registrations, cashiering and permitting.  Assist customers over the counter with respect to new business registrations and renewals, general building permit issues, and over the counter plan submittals.  Generate reports as needed utilizing the computerized program related to permitting and/or licensing.  Provide information and directions to the public related to community development, planning, building, engineering, code enforcement and permit processes via phone, e-mail and counter work.  Respond to citizen complaints and/or inquiries, referring more complex issues to higher level of authority as appropriate.  Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to rules and regulations.  Update forms and informational materials as needed.  Maintain files, both paper and computerized.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Community Development (CD) Clerk I: 

This is the entry level position in Community Development Department (CDD) for clerical employees.  Employees in this class normally work under close and continuous supervision performing a group of repetitive or closely related duties according to established procedures. A CD Clerk I is normally considered to be on training status and, as assigned responsibility and breadth of knowledge increase with increased experience, may reasonably expect their position to be reassigned to the next higher class of CD Clerk II.

 

Community Development (CD) Clerk II: 

Positions in this class are normally filled by advancement from the lower grade of CD Clerk I, or, when filled from the outside require prior responsible clerical and/or financial record keeping experience, and cash handling including balancing funds received.  A CD Clerk II works under general supervision and, within a framework of established procedures, is expected to perform a variety of clerical duties, customer service and assistance with issuing permits with only occasional instruction or assistance.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION

To perform a variety of routine, non-hazardous and non-sworn law enforcement office and field work.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Woodland Police Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate will have experience working in a law enforcement agency and/or have substantial professional experience with public interactions. Candidate will be a self-starter who can work with limited supervision.  The Ideal Candidate will work well as a member of a team, be well organized and have substantial report writing experience.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Investigate routine crimes and prepare appropriate reports.  Assist with abandoned vehicle abatement.  Assist in special traffic control.  Respond to non-criminal calls for service. Operate telephone and radio equipment.  Assist in crime scene identification activities.  Assist in collection, preservation and transportation of evidence.  Maintain accurate chain of custody records.  Inventory and release of evidence and property.  Prepare property for auction.  Purge of files.  Perform Parking Enforcement function.  Report damaged or inoperative traffic signals, signs and markings. Advise the general public on parking laws, regulations and ordinances. Receive complaints regarding parking citations.  Mark vehicles reported as abandoned and conduct follow-up, including towing and storing of vehicle.  Keep records and prepare reports.  Enforce non-moving vehicle code violations and city ordinances pertaining to vehicles.  Perform general clerical duties using typewriter and word processing. Receive calls and take messages. Prepare monthly statistical reports. Retrieve and input data into computer terminal. Prepare correspondence to victims of crime. Provide clerical assistance to detectives. Process reports assigned to detectives. Process court ordered registrants.  Collect pertinent data from police reports and input data into computer.  Make presentations in small and large group settings.  Assist in producing monthly, quarterly and yearly crime statistics reports.  Assist in analyzing statistical data to develop crime patterns. Publish understandable crime information for law enforcement staff.  Coordinate facility maintenance activities and repairs.  Develop and maintain facility tracking systems.  Issue required equipment to both sworn and non-sworn personnel.  Order new and replacement equipment as needed.  Regular and consistent attendance.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Administer first aid in emergencies. Work off-duty hours as assigned. Assist in training of less experienced personnel.  Perform related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent.  Additional college course work or vocational training is highly desirable.

 

Experience:  Two (2) years of general administrative office work experience or one year of administrative office work in a law enforcement agency. Prefer experience with substantial public interaction.

 

License or Certificate:  Required upon hire, possession of a valid California driver's license.

The Assistant or Associate Planner administers mid-level to complex current and advanced planning activities, including serving as project manager for complex development applications and special projects. The incumbent administers specified activities in such areas as zoning, advance planning, and environmental impact studies, protection, and compliance, as well as the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The City of Dixon is looking to fill two (2) vacancies for a Departmental Intern for the Engineering Department! This is a great opportunity for Civil Engineering students currently working towards an engineering career who would like to obtain paraprofessional experience at a Public Sector agency. The Engineering/Utilities Department is responsible for the design of residential and commercial developments, construction oversight of infrastructure within the City Right-of-Way, and operation and maintenance of utilities used, owned, and enjoyed by the public. The utility infrastructure includes the municipal water distribution system/facilities, storm drainage collection system/facilities, sewer collection system, and wastewater treatment facility.

This position will perform a variety of entry-level paraprofessional work which may involve research, data collection, investigation, report, and materials preparation, record keeping, and plans evaluation and processing, database maintenance, drafting, wastewater flow studies, measure and calculate project quantities, hydraulic and other analysis and assistance with general office and field tasks.
