Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in planning, construction technology or a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the experience requirement. Building inspection experience is highly desirable.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATE

Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid California Class C driver's license and a safe driving record. Certification from CACEO (California Association of Code Enforcement Officers) or similar organization is preferred or must be obtained within one year of appointment.
Possession of an I.C.B.O.
Building Inspection certificate (or other similar
professional certification) is desirable and may be substituted for two years of the
required experience. Penal Code 832 certification is also desirable.

SALARY:  Step A ($120,598.79) to Step E ($146,552.90) annually. Officers can earn up to an additional 27.5% above the base salary through qualifying incentives, such as specialty pay (5%), evening differential (5%), bilingual pay (5%), Master Officer pay (2.5%), and Master's degree incentive (10%). This results in potential annual compensation of approximately $153,763 at Step A to approximately $186,851 at Step E.
