POSITION

To plan, organize and manage all activities and programs for a specified division of library operations or services, to include the supervision, coordination, promotion and evaluation of division program.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in our Teen Programs within the Woodland Public Library, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

Library Program Manager I: This is the entry level class in the professional library series. Assignments are generally limited in scope and within the design and procedural framework established by the Library Services Director. However, as experience is acquired, the employee performs with increasing independence.

 

Library Program Manager II: This is the journey level class in the professional library series. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the lower class of Librarian Program Manager I, or when filled from the outside, require prior professional library work experience.  Appointment to the higher class requires that the employee be performing substantially the full range of duties for the class and meet the qualification standards for the class. Work in this class is distinguished from that of a Library Program Manager I by greater complexity of the assignments received and by greater independence with which an incumbent is expected to operate.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Develops and interprets division policies.
• Coordinates program planning and service delivery for the division.
• Develops and conducts programs which reflect the guiding principles of the Library and public librarianship.
• Develops and monitors collection development plan for division collection. Supervises the
  collection development activities of other staff. Responsible for appearance and order of division collection.
• Supervises cataloging, classification, and processing of all library materials using ALA and LC principles and practices.
• Provides relevant training to professional staff, library technical assistants, pages, and volunteers.
• Supervises and participates in the evaluation and hiring of all division staff.
• Participates in near-term and long-range planning for the division, including budget forecasting.
• Coordinates staff review of programs, services and policies for evaluation and improvement.
• Researches and identifies future grant opportunities that align with the Library’s needs and goals, implements all stages of grant process from conception and writing to implementation, reporting, and evaluation.
• Coordinates program planning with school Librarians to ensure complementary services to students.
• Provides leadership in working relationships and communication, ensuring high productivity and quality public service; with other community agencies and city departments.
• Prepares materials to publicize the services and resources of the division.
  Evaluates the various programs to ensure success with the Community, and adjust the programs as needed.
• Prepares regular reports for the Library Services Director.
• Maintains awareness of trends in library services and of issues affecting services to a specific population. Attends meetings and participates in professional library organizations.
• Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position.
• Performs duties in other library divisions and participates in special library projects as needed.
• Supervises the entire library, including personnel and facilities, in the absence of the Library Services Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education
Library Program Manager I and II
Possession of a Master of Library Sciences Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience

Library Program Manager I
One (1) year experience supervising staff and/or developing/managing programs.

Library Program Manager II

A minimum of four (4) years' responsible experience in a professional librarian capacity, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity and one (1) year of managing programs.

We are now accepting applications for up to 20 seasonal, part-time Recreation Aide I positions for our Kids Kamp Program. We are looking for candidates with qualities such as reliability, creativity, dependability and enthusiasm.

 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Recreation Aide I is the entry level class and is responsible for performing less-complex assignments within an established procedural framework where there are minimal consequences of error. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Recreation Aide II by the performance of more routine, repetitive and less complex assignments.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from administrative and/or management staff. Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision but those at the higher levels may be asked to supervise from time to time but not on a consistent basis.

• Develop and implement activities and programs for youth.
• Directly supervise children, monitor and redirect behavior, both on site and during trips.

The City of Auburn is hiring for the seasonal, part-time Bus Driver I position in the Auburn Transit Department.

Auburn Transit is looking for qualified individuals to join our transit team. These positions are seasonal, part-time and each has a maximum of 999 hours of work per fiscal year. The incumbent's schedule will be flexible, based on the needs of the department, community transit needs and employee availability.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position operates a variety of transit and General Public Paratransit (GPPV) vehicles to transport passengers in a safe, courteous and reliable manner. The incumbent will learn all transit laws, operating procedures and policies.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Bus Driver I is an entry-level classification responsible for routine tasks and operation of specific transit vehicles. It is essential incumbents learn all transit laws, operating procedures and policies. The role is performed under direct supervision from the Transportation Supervisor or designee and does not involve supervision over other staff.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Actual work may vary based on department needs or change due to evolving business practices.

• Operates a bus or other General Public Paratransit (GPPV) vehicles on City streets and highways in all weather conditions to transport passengers on established routes with designated stops, on-demand rideshare services, field trips and special events.
• Ensures passenger safety by observing passenger behavior, verifying safety belts are secured and rendering aid to passengers in an emergency.
• Assists passengers boarding and deboarding as needed or requested, including senior citizens, individuals with disabilities and care-dependent persons.
• Operates a smart device and two-radio to respond to transit dispatch and on-demand rideshare requests requiring adjustments to existing schedules and routes.
• Operates automatic wheelchair lifts, collects fares, issues passes, secures wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
• Promptly notifies management and completes reports regarding accidents and incidents involving vehicles and passengers.
• Conducts mandatory daily pre-trip vehicle inspections adhering to state and city regulations before each route, including reporting inspection results, daily trip logs, and required vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Performs minor maintenance, repair and cleaning of transit vehicles and fleet storage facility.
• Adheres to all public transit federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
• Maintains a valid California driver’s license and passenger certifications required by the state vehicle code, Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Transportation and other applicable standards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

This position in the Behavioral Health division of the Health and Human Services Agency performs a wide variety of specialized technical duties and provides information and assistance to the public regarding departmental policies, procedures and laws. Yuba Water Agency is seeking a skilled, detail-driven Construction Inspector II to support major infrastructure projects that protect communities, enhance water reliability, and strengthen the region’s long-term resilience. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact public works—from dam safety improvements to hydropower facilities, and recreation facilities—while contributing to one of California’s most forward-thinking water agencies.

The Construction Inspector II plays a vital part in ensuring that Yuba Water Agency’s capital projects are built safely, accurately, and in full compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position conducts daily field inspections, documents construction progress, verifies contractor work, and collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and external partners. Work with Building Inspectors and/or Code Compliance Officers to schedule inspections and pull related permits.  Process various transactions involving business registrations, cashiering and permitting.  Assist customers over the counter with respect to new business registrations and renewals, general building permit issues, and over the counter plan submittals.  Generate reports as needed utilizing the computerized program related to permitting and/or licensing.  Provide information and directions to the public related to community development, planning, building, engineering, code enforcement and permit processes via phone, e-mail and counter work.  Respond to citizen complaints and/or inquiries, referring more complex issues to higher level of authority as appropriate.  Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to rules and regulations.  Update forms and informational materials as needed.  Maintain files, both paper and computerized.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Community Development (CD) Clerk I: 

This is the entry level position in Community Development Department (CDD) for clerical employees.  Employees in this class normally work under close and continuous supervision performing a group of repetitive or closely related duties according to established procedures. A CD Clerk I is normally considered to be on training status and, as assigned responsibility and breadth of knowledge increase with increased experience, may reasonably expect their position to be reassigned to the next higher class of CD Clerk II.

 

Community Development (CD) Clerk II: 

Positions in this class are normally filled by advancement from the lower grade of CD Clerk I, or, when filled from the outside require prior responsible clerical and/or financial record keeping experience, and cash handling including balancing funds received.  A CD Clerk II works under general supervision and, within a framework of established procedures, is expected to perform a variety of clerical duties, customer service and assistance with issuing permits with only occasional instruction or assistance.

POSITION
To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Public Works Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

Maintain and repair City facilities, equipment, and building by performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and mechanical repair work.  Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance and custodial needs; research and recommend effective solutions to maintenance and repair needs of the City.  Inspect, determine, and perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on assigned facilities and equipment.  Assign routine and special tasks to subordinates; coordinates the work of contractors and other assigned staff with other City employees and contractors.  Work cooperatively with others.  Regular and consistent attendance. 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Operate a variety of equipment including power saws, power sanders, drills, paint sprayers, plumbing snakes and rodders, routers and grinders.  Operate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical equipment such as generators, engines and sump pumps.  Determine quantity and types of supplies, materials, tools and equipment needed for maintenance programs and projects; arrange for purchase and procurement of same; assure that maintenance equipment and tools are kept in good working order.  Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, drawings and blueprints.  Assist in the research and implementation of department policies and procedures.  Maintain time, material and equipment use records.  Troubleshoot, maintain and repair the City’s lock system.  Perform work in emergency situations.  Perform related duties as assigned.

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Assist in conducting preliminary studies of engineering projects and help prepare plans for public improvements such as streets, storm drains, sewers, water works, and other public projects. Supervise, coordinate and perform professional engineering work in the design and construction of, streets, sidewalks, water and sewage facilities, and drainage structures, and other public work. Review plans, maps, specifications, cost estimates, and other work for accuracy, presentation, and conformance with established engineering practices. Perform field inspections of public works construction projects, materials testing, survey work and calculations. Prepare preliminary drawings for public works projects, tabulate field data, design improvement plans, specifications, contracts, and other documents.  Make calculations in surveying and other construction work. Assist in preparation of long-range capital improvement programs and budgets. Prepare written staff reports for departmental use and/or presentation to the City Council and City Commissions.
