Excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic theatre complex at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center.  The City is currently accepting applications for several part-time, hourly Staff Ambassador (Usher) positions in the Cultural and Community Services Department.

Primary responsibilities:

• Assist with locating seats, ticket-taking and patron relations
• Provide clear, pleasant, and courteous communication to patrons, promoters, and co-workers
• Resolve patron complaints
• Assist school children in loading/unloading in/out of buses and theatre complex
• May assist in the training of volunteer usher staff

Details:

• Full-time regular position, 9/80 work schedule with Friday off

The Public Works Maintenance Superintendent (Streets) is a management-level role within the Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for overseeing the operation of construction and maintenance equipment, street and sidewalk repairs, street drainage system maintenance, and graffiti abatement.

Key duties for this role include:

• Overseeing the operation of construction and maintenance equipment.

• Managing street and sidewalk repairs.

• Maintaining street drainage systems.

• Leading graffiti abatement efforts.

This position also involves:

• Coordinating the functions needed to maintain streets and related infrastructure in a safe and reliable manner, ensuring accessibility for all users.

• Coordinating the equipment needs of the Streets Section.

• Managing activities including staff supervision, assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, and addressing the training and safety needs of the staff.

Minimum Qualifications for consideration - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in tree and landscape care and maintenance.

Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience in maintaining, trimming, and caring for trees, landscape, and related equipment, including tree climbing experience are required. Supervisory/lead experience is desired.

License or Certificate:

Possession of, or ability to obtain within one year, certification as a Certified Arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).

Possession of, or ability to obtain within six months, Electrical Hazard Awareness Procedures and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.

Possession of, and ability to maintain, a valid Class A drivers license including trailer and tank endorsements.

ABOUT THE POSITION
If you are passionate about ensuring quality and safety in engineering projects and want to make a real difference in the community, we have an excellent opportunity for you. The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting a full-time Engineering Technician/Inspector at level I or II or III (depending on experience and qualifications) for the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. The position will support the engineering staff with technical tasks for public works improvements, public works projects, and land development projects, and will entail a mix of technician and inspection duties. The goal of the Engineering Division is to promote a better quality of life for those who live, work, and visit the city of Gilroy through the provision of efficient engineering services and the creation of orderly growth and development within the city.

EXAMPLES OF ONGOING PROJECTS

• Provide inspection support to various Capital Improvement Projects, to include water and wastewater projects. 
• Coordinate inspection efforts with consultants and outside agencies.
• Process and review various public works permits.
• Administer the Sidewalk Repair Program.

NOTE: To foster teamwork and collaboration in the department, organization-wide, and in the community, this full-time position works on-site/in-person. Remote work is not an available option.
