Village Park Preschool Program

Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department. We offer 5 programs: Lil’ Sprouts (2 year olds), Cottage Kids (3 year olds), Playschool Villagers (3 year olds), Afternoon Owls (3 year olds), and Camp Treehouse (3-4 year olds).  The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Activities are designed to foster a healthy child that develops an early love of learning. Village Park Preschool programs strive to create an environment inspiring each child’s individual creativity and self-expression. Children participate in arts/crafts, music, body movement, basic science, cognitive games, creative/dramatic play, cooking, circle and story time, fine and gross motor skill building, and phonics awareness.

Definition: Preschool Site Coordinator

The City of Burlingame is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, creative, and responsible Preschool Site Coordinator. Under direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Village Park Preschool ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves managing staff, coordinating programs, communicating with parents, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties

• Program Oversite
  • Coordinate with teachers and staff to ensure lesson plans, schedules, and classroom activities align with educational standards and goals.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Manage supply lists and shop for required materials.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time.
  • Develop and plan activities for preschool summer camp
  • Change diapers and support toilet training.

• Staff Management 
  • Train and supervise teaching staff.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and performance.

• Parent Communication 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a responsive and professional manner.
  • Facilitate open communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, and staff to promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Send emails to parents with child and class updates.
  • Manage Village Park Instagram

• Administrative Duties 
  • Prepare monthly newsletter.
  • Manage Village Park Preschool Instagram.
  • Complete assigned paperwork, including timecards and incident reports.

• Safety and Compliance 
  • ​​​​​​​Enforce policies and procedures related to child supervision, hygiene, emergency preparedness, and security measures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and materials to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Division of San Mateo County Health seeks an experienced psychiatrist to serve as Supervising Adult Psychiatrist for our Interface Primary Care Team.

Interface Primary Care is a BHRS mental health integrated, collaborative care program providing psychiatric services and Medication Assisted Treatments (MAT) to adults receiving care in the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Community Primary Care Clinics operated by San Mateo County Health. These clinics are located at North County Primary Care Clinic (in Daly City), Fair Oaks Health Center (in Redwood City), San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC), South San Francisco Primary Care Clinic (South San Francisco), and the Sequoia Teen Wellness Center (in Redwood City). This position will be a mix of direct clinical care and providing leadership and supervision for an interdisciplinary team of providers. This position also includes collaborative consultation with primary care/specialty medical providers and support for MAT services across BHRS.

This position is a full time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) position. This Supervising Adult Psychiatrist will report directly to the Medical Director of BHRS and will assist him/her in providing the highest quality behavioral health care in San Mateo County.

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division uses evidence-based treatment approaches in our system of care services, while seeking continuing improvement and development in the areas of cultural competence, integrated services for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use problems, and supportive housing. Our achievements reflect the work of dedicated staff as well as the valuable input of behavioral health system partners--criminal justice and human services agencies, private providers and contract agencies, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Commission members, families, and consumers.
 
The ideal candidate is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and has at least three years of experience supervising psychiatrists and/or psychiatry residents, as well as a keen interest in and knowledge of policy and planning on behavioral health issues and organizational and clinical performance measurements. Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and MAT, including board certification in Addiction Medicine/Psychiatry is strongly preferred.

• Leadership in fostering integrated care for clients with serious mental illness and primary care conditions;

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Completion of a residency program and three years of experience in Adult Psychiatry.

Licensure/Certification:

• License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California.
• Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Knowledge of:

• Health care management practices and principles including revenue retrieval.
• Current developments, trends and research in a medical specialty.
• Principles and practices of supervision.
• Development of medical policies, procedures and protocols.
• Preparation of comprehensive reports and other correspondence.
• Pharmacology and psychopharmacology including laws regarding informed consent, dosage ranges, drug incompatibilities, and side effects.

The Position: 
 
This is a professional position in the unclassified service, responsible for managing the one or more of the Engineering Divisions of the Electric Department relating to transmission planning, distribution engineering, capital improvement project delivery (design & construction), system expansion program, and environmental compliance.  The position requires a demonstrated ability to work well with management, professional and administrative support employees in the Department and with customers, professionals, managers and all City Departments.

Typical Duties

Under general direction: 
• Plan, develop, coordinate, perform, and direct the activities of the Engineering Division of the Electric Utility Department;
• Provide management and supervision for all activities of Engineering in the planning, engineering and design of individual system extensions, revisions and improvements;
• Provide recommendations on a broad spectrum of division-related issues;

• Make periodic and special reports, which describe the current Engineering Division activities and conduct special studies and prepare reports, including findings and recommendations, as required;
• Direct or conduct studies and analysis related to the reliability of the electric system to ensure compliance with appropriate Federal Energy Regulatory Commission/North American Electric Reliability Corporation (FERC/NERC) and industry reliability standards;
• Prepare or direct the preparation of purchase specifications required to implement Electric Utility Department purchases in connection with system expansion and improvements;
• Conduct review and analysis of new equipment, methods and materials pertinent to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the electric system, and make recommendations to appropriate Managers;
• Confer with and assist the Director of Electric Utility in the development of long-range plans, goals and objectives, and budgets;
• Manage, schedule and evaluate the work of Engineering Division staff, and develop processes designed to support a continuous learning environment;
• Analyze Engineering Division operations to determine the most efficient and effective assignment of staff;
• Prepare the Engineering Division budget, recommend allocation of division funds within guidelines; monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to the approved budget, manage contractual services;
• Administer and assist in the staffing, administrative and financial matters of the Engineering Division; and
• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Education or experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or closely related field; and
• Four (4) years experience at a responsible level in engineering in the electric utility industry or closely related field is required. 

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
• One (1) year of experience managing staff, and with responsibility for division budget planning and administration is desirable.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Possession of a certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California is desirable.

POSSIBLE SUBSTITUTION
• Possession of a valid certificate of registration as an Electrical Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. The COO is responsible for forecasting service requirements and for planning, organizing and directing assigned resources of the electric utility division in order to meet those requirements. This includes developing and administering the department operations and capital improvement budgets. The Public Authority for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is seeking well-qualified individuals for the position of Public Authority Registry Social Worker II/III with fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese. There is one vacancy in the Public Authority. The current vacancy would be responsible for supporting IHSS consumers who do not have caregiver resources, in hiring a homecare provider from the Public Authority Registry and helping the client and provider establish a successful working relationship. The Public Authority serves as the employer of record for IHSS homecare workers, with the IHSS consumer retaining the right to hire, fire and train their worker. The Public Authority's responsibilities include operating a Registry that recruits, screens and refers potential homecare providers to IHSS consumers needing personal assistance in their home; screening the backgrounds of IHSS providers in accordance with IHSS policies and regulations; providing training opportunities to IHSS providers to enhance their skills in serving IHSS consumers; and offering support and assistance to Registry consumers and providers to ensure the employer-employee relationship between the Registry consumer and provider are functioning well. The IHSS consumer is the IHSS employer and is responsible for hiring and supervising a provider for the care they receive. Consumers who do not have caregiver resources, may choose to hire a caregiver from the Public Authority Registry. The Public Authority Social Worker will assist those recipients with the hiring of a Public Authority Registry worker and help them to manage their role as the employer.

• Conduct home visits to support consumers' hiring needs.
• Educate, support, and perform administrative duties for IHSS consumers and care providers to understand/comply with program regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
• Education equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade; and

OASIS is community field-based mental health services provided to older adults at their place of residence. This home visit services include medication evaluation and monitoring, individual counseling/therapy, and case management. This multiple discipline team with language capacity in English, Spanish, and Chinese, consists of Psychiatrists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, a Community Mental Health Nurse, and a Peer Support Worker. Services are available to San Mateo County residents age 60 and over with issues of mobility and mental health conditions that impact their day-to-day functioning.  

Clinicians will use evidence-based approach to perform assessment, diagnosis, make medical necessity treatment plans, case management, individual therapy, and work with family members of clients' and other community providers for clients' mental health follow-up care needs. These interventions are provided in field setting or in clients' place of residence, and/or as needed to clients who are living in the community.

Clinicians are committed to providing medical necessity treatment that supports the clients' goals of independence and self-sufficiency with other service providers' support to continually live in the community with better quality of life. These positions embrace the challenge of providing simultaneous cooccurring treatment for both mental illness and substance use disorders in some cases; to work in an older adult outpatient setting as a member of a multidisciplinary team in collaboration and within the system of care.
