Overview:
The Grants, Compliance, and Claims Management Unit with Valley Water is the centralized unit for seeking and managing grants brought in to help fund Valley Water projects. The pre-award side of work within the unit will be administered by this Senior Management Analyst, with support from a Management Analyst II, and oversight by the Grants Unit Manager.
 
Senior Management Analyst (SMA): Core components of the Senior Management Analysts work will include researching grant opportunities and writing grant applications; high levels of collaboration with project teams, grants liaisons in watersheds and water utility divisions, procurement, legal, government relations, capital improvement program, and communications; and tracking/reporting. The position will tie efforts into the two grant roadmaps (i.e. strategic funding plans), assist in preparing updates to the Board and staff via all employee communications, and aid in early compliance reviews (pre-agreement) to ensure Valley Water can meet grant terms and conditions. As a Senior, the position will help implement new grants management software on the pre-award side in coordination with the unit’s compliance and claims staff, assist in updating standard operating procedures, and work with the Unit Manager to clearly define rationale for which grants to pursue.

Management Analyst II: Core components of the Management Analyst II's work will include assisting the SMA in researching grant opportunities and writing grant applications, coordinating with project teams, tracking and reporting grant-related information, assisting with compliance tracking for federal and state grant terms and conditions, and assisting with grant communications such as the bi-monthly Grants One Pager update for the Board of Directors and the Grants Action Team monthly meeting.

Grants, Compliance, and Claims Management Unit (Position Code 68) 

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.  

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite.    

San Mateo County Health- San Mateo Medical Center seeks well-qualified candidates for the position of Program Coordinator I in the Patient Access Division. The current vacancy is a full-time, limited term vacancy. The duration of the assignment will last about 6 months.

 

Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide support to over 150 Patient Services Assistants across various departments, including Emergency, Admitting, Long-Term Care, Same-Day Surgery, and will average 27 Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites with 8-16 hours of weekly program refresher training on several publicly sponsored coverage options.

 

Additionally, this position will assist the team with several EPIC post-go-live projects, and work queues as we work to revamp processes and enhance collaboration for improved workflows and revenue-generating process efficiencies.

The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for Aquatic Instructors (Swim Instructors) for our fantastic swim lessons and aquatic programs, to work at the Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center. We are looking for positive, patient, motivated, self-driven individuals that have a passion for working with children and wish to make a difference in a child's life by teaching them lifelong water skills!

San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) seeks a board eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to serve as a staff Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist within BHRS. The position is full time, and provides child psychiatric diagnostic and therapeutic services to clients in various divisions of San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. Potential service sites include our outpatient behavioral health clinics, the Canyon Oaks Youth Center (youth residential program), the Youth Services Center, the Therapeutic Day School programs, the Transitional Age Youth program, and BHRS’s integrated behavioral health team co-located within the County’s pediatric clinics. The position offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package which includes County funded malpractice insurance, pension plans and health benefits for retirees, 5% match into deferred comp, reimbursement of professional dues and expenses (up to $3,000/year), an additional 5% increase in salary for each qualifying Board certification up to two (2) Boards, administrative leave time at 5 hours per pay period up to 260 hours (this is prorated for part time employees) that can be used as time off or cashed out up to 50%, three days of Winter Recess (24 total hours) leave time, and a wellness program, including exercise classes, worksite massage, and an onsite gym. BHRS positions include a hybrid model of remote work, which may continue in the future.

The ideal candidate will have completed a Residency in General Psychiatry and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and will be board-certified or board eligible in both. A candidate will hold a valid and up-to-date California Physicians and Surgeons License as granted by the Medical Board of California and a current prescribing certificate from the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency. A thorough background check will be conducted, which may include inquiries of the Department of Justice and the National Practitioners Data Bank. Any negative findings may be a basis for rejection of an application. All services will be provided in a professional manner that demonstrates cultural sensitivity and humility. An ideal candidate will have a strong demonstrated commitment to and competence for providing care to populations with shared characteristics, strengths, and challenges as those populations served within our County’s behavioral health system of care. An ideal candidate will have fluency in providing services in the preferred language of the families, notably Spanish; however, second language proficiency or fluency are not required.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program as well as a child and adolescent fellowship.

 

Licensure/Certification:

• License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California.
• Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
