The Public Authority's responsibilities include operating a Registry that recruits, screens and refers potential homecare providers to IHSS consumers needing personal assistance in their home; screening the backgrounds of IHSS providers in accordance with IHSS policies and regulations; providing training opportunities to IHSS providers to enhance their skills in serving IHSS consumers; and offering support and assistance to Registry consumers and providers to ensure the employer-employee relationship between the Registry consumer and provider are functioning well. San Mateo Medical Center is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Occupational Therapist II.  
Currently, there is one full-time, limited-term vacancy and two Extra-Help, part-time, vacancies. These positions will plan and provide occupational therapy services for acutely ill or rehabilitative patients in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting.
Occupational Therapist II is the experienced journey level class in this series. Incumbents in this class perform the full range of general therapy treatments with a greater degree of independence and proficiency, additionally applying more specialized and advanced therapy treatments. Some individuals may also assist in providing technical advice and training to less experienced staff.

Education and Training:

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade (High School Diploma).  Completion of 30 semester units from an accredited college or university (60 units or more is preferred).
• Must show proof of passing the PELLETB test with a minimum T-Score of 48
• Successful completion of the WSTB test (physical agility). 

Licenses and Certificates:

Possession of and ability to maintain a valid California Driver’s License.

Necessary Special Qualifications:

• Free of any felony convictions.
• A citizen of the United States or a permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship (Government Code Para. 1031).
• Age, not less than 21 years at time of appointment.
• Vision in each eye, correctable to at least 20/30.
• Must pass a background investigation.
• Meet all regulatory requirements for becoming a Peace Officer with a California P.O.S.T agency.

ADA Special Requirement:

Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 50 pounds:  exposure to cold, heat, extreme noise, outdoors, confining work space, electrical hazards,   chemicals, dust, toxic waste, mechanical hazards, and explosive materials.
