We offer 3 programs: Lil’ Sprouts (2 year olds), Cottage Kids (3 year olds), and Afternoon Owls (3 year olds).  The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Activities are designed to foster a healthy child that develops an early love of learning. Village Park Preschool programs strive to create an environment inspiring each child’s individual creativity and self-expression. Children participate in arts/crafts, music, body movement, basic science, cognitive games, creative/dramatic play, cooking, circle and story time, fine and gross motor skill building, and phonics awareness.

Preschool Aide

The City of Burlingame is looking for a passionate, caring, and creative Preschool Aide. Under the direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This includes helping with classroom activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and clean learning environment.

Essential Duties

• Assist in implementing activities that support early childhood education and socialization.
• Assist with a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time.
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed.
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility.
• Set up daily snack.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

An incumbent in this position performs a variety of law enforcement activities during an assigned shift, which may include crime response, patrol, investigation, traffic enforcement, crime prevention and public safety, case presentation and variable shifts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

San Mateo Medical Center and its clinics are currently seeking well-qualified candidates for Physical Therapist II to provide outpatient and/or inpatient services at San Mateo Medical Center - Main Campus in San Mateo, CA. Currently, there is a Limited-Term, Full-Time vacancy and an Extra-Help, part-time vacancy. 

These positions would provide outpatient and/or inpatient services physical therapy evaluations and treatments for a variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions.

Physical Therapists manage patients with a wide range of diagnoses, chronic and acute, and are part of a dynamic treatment team. In addition, Physical Therapists identify patient challenges and develop goals and a care plan with reasonable outcomes for the individual's life/work settings. Daily opportunities are created in this assignment through the variety of illnesses/injuries seen in our patient population.

Physical Therapists work at SMMC as part of a County rehabilitation program, which provides evaluation, education and treatment. The therapeutic program at SMMC is oriented toward inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic problems while providing therapy to inpatients with a need for long or short-term rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of work experience providing care in an outpatient setting with an interest in covering inpatient when the census justifies. Ability to work weekends and/or holiday coverage when necessary is also strongly preferred. New or recent graduates with independent outpatient physical therapy work experience or internships are encouraged to apply.

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduling Specialist for a Full-Time, Extra-help position for the Surgery Department. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides technical, complex and specialized administrative support to surgeons and patients scheduled for surgery, which includes interaction with operating room staff and patients; handles multiple competing priorities; interacts with diverse customer groups; handles multiple patient-related tasks such as tracking patient financials to ensure information is correctly entered; and moves patients from the clinic to the operating room, including all pre-operative processes necessary for the patients prior to surgery, pre-op process sheets and clinic schedules, data entry of items into the operative database, financial reconciliation, and post-op order sets, and may have some responsibilities for ordering supplies or equipment.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex medical terminology to a variety of people with varying levels of medical knowledge. In addition, they would possess skills in conflict resolution, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with challenging patients, and patients who may have a language or communication barrier. This position will require attention to detail, and therefore the ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.

San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division is seeking a responsible, innovative leader and skilled clinician for the position of Supervising Mental Health Clinician - East Palo Alto Services. This Supervising Mental Health Clinician will supervise and coordinate the work of mental health professionals and interns in the East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park geographic area in San Mateo County. This position works closely with community members and community providers to develop and sustain programming that is culturally and community responsive.

This position will participate in program administration, planning and evaluation. The Supervising Mental Health Clinician supervises and guides the clinical team who provides services to seriously emotionally disturbed youth and their families, and seriously mentally ill adults. Services provided include: medication assessment and management; individual, group and family therapy; psychological assessment; case management; rehabilitation services; and crisis intervention.

The current vacancy is in the East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center, located in East Palo Alto but will travel throughout San Mateo County for client visits, trainings and meetings.

The East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center offers a unique setting to provide services to a diverse population in a community-oriented clinic.

This position supervises a multidisciplinary team that provides clinical outpatient services to adults and children and their families. The team may include psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses and social workers and marriage and family therapists. The clinical teams also include master and doctoral level interns and psychiatric residents. In providing clinical services team members also relate to peer counselors and parent partners.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Knowledge of system of care principles and general services.
• Knowledge of program management techniques and practices.
• Demonstrated expertise and skill in clinical work with adults with serious mental illnesses and youth with serious emotional disturbances; and clients with co-occurring disorders.
• Experience working with clients of diverse cultures and backgrounds and with underserved and/or isolated communities.
• Knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice modalities, e.g. Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Brief Treatment.
• Knowledge of Medi-Cal and Medicare regulations and managed mental health care.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills.
• Strong supervisory/leadership skills which demonstrate an ability to direct and motivate a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience guiding or supervising others during a systemic or programmatic change process.
• Collaborative skills and the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with consumers, families, professionals and the public; including collaborative community engagement to plan and implement needed services.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on the exercise of judgment and the consideration of all available information.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Education: A Master's degree in a mental health specialty, such as social work, nursing, or clinical counseling.

Experience: Two years of professional post-graduate experience in a mental health setting.

Licensure/Certification:

• Possession of a California license in at least one of the following: Registered Nurse; Clinical Psychology; Clinical Social Worker; or Marriage and Family Therapist.
