The City of Sebastopol is seeking two diligent, energetic, dependable Administrative Technicians, one to serve in the Public Works Department and the other will serve the Building and Community Development departments. The Administrative Technician will perform a variety of technical-level administrative duties in support of an assigned City department or program. Duties may include areas relating to finance, grants, building, planning, public works, engineering, or general support of City operations. The selected candidates will conduct research, collect and analyze data, and prepare draft reports. In addition to tracking and reporting operational statistics, this position provides technical assistance to management.

For the position assigned to Public Works: The Administrative Technician assigned to Public Works will report to the Director of Public Works/ City Engineer at 714 Johnson Street, Sebastopol, CA 95472. This position will perform clerical duties such as answering phones, providing office support services, and ordering supplies for the department. In addition, the position will manage budget tracking operations that include Springbook reports, invoicing, and project close-outs. The Administrative Technician will oversee contract processing, special event permit processing, and California Department of Industrial Relations(DIR) registrations. The selected candidate will assist in Council agenda reports and in preparing the agenda packets. This position will also serve as the Water Conservation Coordinator, providing news to the public on drought reports and Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs) within the City.

For the position located in City Hall: The Administrative Technician will report to the City’s Building Official or Community Development Director at City Hall, 7120 Bodega Avenue, Sebastopol, CA 95472. The primary duties of this assignment will serve as the main City contact at the City’s public counter, providing support to the Building and Community Development departments. In, addition to supporting Building and Community Development in all permitting activities, this assignment involves providing administrative and analytical support for the City Clerk, Assistant City Manager and City Manager, serving as staff and support for public meetings, administering the media and public comment for assigned public meetings, tracking and responding to public records act requests, records retention assistance, assisting with records management, transcribing minutes, and updating the City’s website with official documents.

The City of San Rafael Public Works Department is seeking a full-time Associate Civil Engineer to lead a variety of Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects related to Buildings/Facilities, Parks, Storm Drain, and Transportation.

The Ideal Candidate will possess expertise in municipal engineering and have strong critical thinking, communication and organizational skills that allow them to effectively manage all phases of multiple capital programs and/or projects. They will have a strong sense of customer service and the ability to provide recommended solutions to complex engineering and service challenges. • Investigates field problems affecting the public, property owners, contractors and maintenance operations; collects the necessary data or assigns the collection of data to technical personnel; develops recommendations and meets with the appropriate parties to discuss and implement recommendations.

The Associate Civil Engineer is the journey level classification in the engineering job class series. This job class requires:

• Registration as a licensed Civil Engineer in the state of California and 4 years of responsible post degree engineering experience (a master’s degree shall count for 1 year of post degree engineering experience).
• A valid drivers’ license 

Under direction, an Associate Civil Engineer performs difficult and complex engineering work and may serve as a supervisor to a small group of engineers and/or paraprofessional engineering staff. The position calls for a high degree of initiative, technical proficiency, and judgement.

• Responds to public inquiries regarding zoning and related matters on the phone, via email, and at the Planning Counter.

DEFINITION

Under the general direction of the Director and City Engineer, the Civil Engineering Associate/Project Manager – Capital Projects leads the delivery of complex capital infrastructure and facility projects for the Town of Danville.  This role focuses on high-value construction and modernization projects, including buildings, utilities, and public infrastructure. The position serves as a critical liaison between Town departments, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure successful execution of capital projects within scope, schedule, and budget.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction from the Director and City Engineer. Exercises supervision over Public Works Inspectors and contractors.  This is a journeyman-level, first line supervisory position requiring substantial independent judgment, technical expertise, and leadership in managing capital improvement projects. The position reports to the City Engineer and may supervise professional and technical staff. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Train, direct and manage Public Works Inspectors to perform and document daily inspections of construction projects, private development projects, encroachment permits and clean water inspections to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, permit conditions of approval and Town standards.

The Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Aging and Family Services Division. Salary Range

The Assistant Director salary range is currently $178, 713.34 - $288, 700.62. Placement within this range will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the individual selected. Minimum Qualifications:
