This position will report directly to the Recreation and Community Service Program Coordinator.  position, gaining hands-on experience in youth development. This part-time position offers

Part-Time Opportunity - City of Live Oak Public Works Department

DEFINITION
Under general supervision of the Public Works Director and or the Public Works Lead, this classification works primarily in the Public Works Department and performs a variety of duties essential to the maintenance of the City.
 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Up keeping of City property, streets, and other facilities.
• Knowledge of general construction.
• Performs basic maintenance work.
• Up keeping equipment, tools and other supplies in proper condition.
• Maintaining proper tree pruning and trimming on trees.
• Operates all hand tools required for work including shovels, rakes, picks, hoes, wrenches, drills.
• All other duties assigned.

The City of Pacifica is a beautiful coastal community, just south of San Francisco with an exciting opportunity. We are currently hiring an Engineering Intern to join our team. Under general supervision, the new team member will perform sub-professional engineering work involving manual and computer drafting, traffic data gathering, records management, map interpretation and processing, retrieval of information, assist with field surveys, and to do related work as required. DEFINITION: Under general supervision the aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing preschool programming for children ages 3-5 years old. Program hours are M-F PM 8:30am – 1:00pm and/or MWF 8:30am - 1:00pm. Approximately 15 – 30 hours a week. Substitute and floating positions also available 8:30am - 1:00pm. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Assists in the development, coordination, planning, implementing and supervising the day-to-day activities, themes and special events for an ongoing preschool program.
• Create and maintain a safe, challenging and creative environment.
• Supervise and engage preschool students during preschool hours.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communicate effectively with co-workers, parents, and children.
• Maintain registration, attendance, and activity records; ensure the proper pick-up/drop-off of children. 
• Encourage good behavior, appropriate manners, read books and provide a safe and nurturing environment.
• Implement and lead appropriate activities for preschool-aged children.
• Possess strong leadership skills in one or more of the following areas: art, crafts, sports, drama, cooking.
• Motivate children by example; create and maintain a positive environment.
• Must be a team player and have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Practice proper hygiene, with self and children, to deter the spread of disease (colds, flu, etc).
• Render first aid in case of minor injuries.
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
• The ability to speak English clearly and understandably.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education, training, and experience, which likely provides the required knowledge and abilities.

The Shuttle Driver drives the City shuttle to designated locations within the City of East Palo Alto, and occasionally outside the City for regional events or activities, and performs related duties as assigned.

Work schedule:

Wednesday: 9:30 am - 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm-7:00 pm (7.hrs)

ABOUT THE POSITION: Office Assistant I will receive immediate direction from the Senior Administrative Assistant, with additional direction given by the Business Services Supervisor. They provide a variety of clerical support and perform a wide range of customer service-related tasks in a fast paced, high touch environment. This position requires the ability to multi-task and respond to multiple requests from customers with professionalism and courtesy.

SCHEDULE: Staff will have the schedule flexibility to work weekday, weekend, early morning and evening shifts.  Staff may be asked to cover additional, unscheduled shifts due to absences by other Office Assistants.

• Calculates fees, charges and operate, balance cash register during and at end of shift.
• Monitor guests' activities in the main lobby area and enforce all rules, regulations, and safety principles.
• Assists in opening and closing procedures for the Community Center and the Aquatics & Fitness Center.
• Handles such services as selling merchandise.
• Has the ability to speak English clearly and understandably.
• Reads and follows diagrams and instruction written in English.
• Maintain accurate, organized records and files.
• Interpret and apply policies and procedures.
• Communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing.
• Deal effectively with other city personnel and the public.
• Type at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
• Operate office equipment (including computers, scanners, calculators, printers, and copiers).
• Perform related and additional duties as needed.
• Work independently in the absence of supervision

It may be necessary to move objects weighing 20 lbs., such as mail, packages, merchandise inventory etc.
