SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Performs technical and paraprofessional work supporting both the department and City planning operations including current and long-range planning,  environmental compliance review, processing development proposals, interacting with applicants, developers, consultants, the public, and external agencies, organizations and community groups, and other technical-level functions.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

A paraprofessional classification requiring administrative, analytical, and specialized technical skills to perform semi-complex municipal planning duties. The role is distinguished from lower classifications by its scope of work and requirements for specialized training and technical proficiency in planning. This classification performs recurring tasks and solves problems independently under general supervision from the department director or assigned supervisor, and does not exercise supervision over staff.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Actual work may vary based on department needs or change due to evolving business practices.

• Perform a wide range of administrative, operational, and technical tasks supporting planning programs and functions.
• Process, review, and evaluate plans, required planning documents and construction plans for completeness, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
• Administer zoning, land use, subdivision, and environmental regulations; provide recommendations on project issues, and assist applicants to ensure all requirements are met within established time frames.
• Interact with the public, and internal and external stakeholders;  serve as liaison to City staff, applicants, developers, consultants, and external organizations and agencies regarding City codes, policies, processes, and requirements.
• Conduct site visits; investigate zoning issues and complaints; advise property owners, developers, and the public on relevant City ordinances and regulations.
• Prepare reports and make public presentations to the Planning Commission, City Council, and other public groups.
• Conduct specialized planning studies, research, and analysis for current and long-range planning issues, including environmental evaluations and General Plan updates.
• Develop ordinances, resolutions, and regulations related to planning matters.
• Oversee and coordinate the current planning process including project scheduling for Historic Design Review Committee and Planning Commission, and project review with other staff.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date planning records and data.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Dixon Fire Department offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants pursuing a career in fire safety.  The position performs fire prevention activities to save lives and property; responds to hazardous material incidents; responds to all fire alarms with designated company; prepares and operates the necessary equipment at the scene of the fire such as a hose, ladders, chemicals, bars, hooks, etc.; administers first aid to injured patrons; performs other acts required of a Firefighter at the scene of an emergency; carries out all duties assigned by Superior Officers.  Work involves irregular hours during the day and evenings, and on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

The Dixon Fire Department is opening their Firefighter/Paramedic Recruit position for someone to attend the Fire Academy in January 2026. The "Firefighter/Paramedic Recruit" is an entry-level classification designed for recruits with a current paramedic license to gain firefighting, fire rescue, and fire prevention skills and training necessary through an accredited Fire Academy. Training may include firefighting techniques and procedures; emergency medical training; technical rescue and hazardous materials training.

We're seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable professional to make an immediate impact. Your time will be split equally between the two departments, with a primary focus on payroll processing. Finance Duties:

• Participate in core finance processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, license and permit fee collection, and general financial transaction processing.
• Process and record financial transactions related to payroll and benefits, prepare related tax forms (e.g. 1099 and W2), and fee/levy data for tax rolls.
• Assist with budget preparation and monitoring, financial reporting, external auditor inquiries, and the review/approval of purchase requisitions.
• Participate in the implementation and adherence to Government Accounting Standards Board requirements and statements.
• Maintain financial and accounting records and data within systems, reconcile accounts, identify and resolve discrepancies, and prepare related reports.

Human Resources Duties:

• Participate in various functions supporting payroll, recruitment, benefits administration, leaves and other human resources functions.
• Participate in processing payroll including changes to wages, positions, benefits, leaves of absence, and related.
• Assist with benefits administration including processing forms, enrollments and changes, assisting employees, and responding to vendor inquiries.
• Intake and assist with worker’s compensation and insurance claim documentation.
• Apply personnel rules, MOUs, and relevant regulations to HR and payroll tasks, and assist with ensuring compliance, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive personnel and management information.

The County Counsel position, under direction of the Board of Supervisors, serves as principle legal counsel to the County of Glenn; plans, organizes, directs and reviews the functions and  activities for the County Counsel’s Office including advising County departments and employees on legal issues and representing those departments and employees in litigation; establish, monitor, evaluate and revise the office’s goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; coordinate assigned activities with other County departments and outside agencies.

The City of Marysville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Public Works Director; this recruitment will fill 1 vacancy and create an eligible list.  

Reporting directly to the City Manager, this position is responsible for executive direction, strategic leadership, and management of the Public Works Department, including City maintenance workers and capital improvement projects. 

As the principal administrator of the Public Works Department, the Director; plans, organizes, directs, reviews and manages all department activities and functions including Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Streets, Public Facilities, Wastewater Treatment/Sewage, and Storm Water Management.

Education and Certification

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar major.

Experience

Incumbents must have a minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience directly involving municipal services such as public works, public utilities, capital improvement project management, parks maintenance and management, and/or street and facilities maintenance.

THE POSITION

To monitor City facilities during programs and rentals; to open and close facilities; to set up and take down equipment; to provide information and assistance to the public in person and on the phone; to perform general administrative tasks when assigned; to perform certain custodial duties; to ensure user compliance with policies, regulations, and laws pertaining to facility use; and to perform other duties as assigned. The purpose of this recruitment is to fill current temporary/part-time positions.

Temporary / Part-Time employees work no more than 130 hours per month

AND 960 hours per fiscal year.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

BENEFITS

All of these positions are temporary/part time. Temporary employees work no more than 130 hours per month AND 960 hours in a Fiscal Year.

The pay cycle is bi-weekly.  Except for worker's compensation coverage and sick leave accrual, no other benefits are provided. Employees must contribute 1.45% of salary to Medicare and 7.5% to a retirement plan in accordance with Federal Law.
