WORK SCHEDULE 

This internship can start as early as May 26, 2026, and end as late as September 30, 2026. This paid internship is offered at 15 – 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling. 

The official start and end date of the internship will be determined at the time of hire. Work hours are generally Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Provide support for recruitment activities, including job postings and interview coordination.
• Assist in supporting the preparation of the City’s annual Health Fair and wellness initiatives.
• Assist with tasks related to the Employee Appreciation Committee.
• Assist with employee wellness newsletter and other activities.
• Prepare and/or update employee safety program materials.

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is seeking an exceptional, process-orientated professional to serve as the Director of Administration and Services. This is a fast-paced agency that seeks to meet the mission through a high level of accountability and transparency.

AHA is particularly interested in applications from candidates with a strong track record in a variety of administrative, coordinative, analytical, and liaison capacities relevant to the job responsibilities. SALARY 

The anticipated hiring range for the Information Technology (IT) Manager position is $142,491 - $178,114 annually, with a full salary range up to $213,737 annually. The City typically makes offers within the hiring range based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. 

DESCRIPTION 

The City is seeking a strategic and collaborative IT Manager to join the newly established IT Department! In this key leadership role, you will oversee the City’s infrastructure and operations division, including cybersecurity, information systems, data center, network infrastructure, and help desk, while guiding technology strategy that supports operations across all departments.  

The position is responsible for managing IT staff, system implementations and upgrades, partnering in the development of long-term technology plans, and ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT services. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with strong technical expertise, project management experience, and the ability to partner with the Chief Technology Officer and Deputy Chief Technology Officer to implement technology solutions that improve operations and service delivery. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop and implement IT strategic plans, policies, and procedures to support citywide information systems and departmental priorities. 

• Lead, supervise, and evaluate IT staff, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions when necessary. 

• Oversee the City’s cybersecurity infrastructure and education plan 

• Oversee systems development, implementation, and maintenance of hardware, software, applications, and data processing services across City departments. 

• Coordinate IT initiatives with internal departments and external agencies to improve system integration, service delivery, and technology utilization. 

• Advise City leadership on technology strategy, system requirements, and feasibility of IT solutions.

The City of Dixon is excited to announce the recruitment for a Public Works Director. The Public Works Director will play a critical leadership role during a period of elevated development activity and organizational transition. This position requires a hands-on leader who can maintain momentum on existing initiatives while advancing new priorities across Public Works, Engineering, and land development functions.

This is an exempt, "at-will" senior management position directly responsible to the City Manager.  Salary is negotiated within salary range depending on qualifications.

The Position

The Community Relations Manager/Public Information Officer is a full-time management position that reports directly to the City Manager and is part of the City Manager’s Office. The Public Information and Community Relations Division is responsible for providing information to the general public about the programs, projects, and policies of the City Council and City government.

This position is a key member of the City’s Executive Team given the unique position of being a liaison to citizens, businesses, schools, and non-profits in the City.

Under direction of the City Manager, Community Relations is responsible for the City’s cable TV franchise agreements, serving as a liaison with civic organizations, and providing staff support to the Civic Action Commission and Education Commission.

The Public Information function includes providing timely and accurate information to residents, businesses, the media, and others about City services and programs. Significant use of digital communication tools, including the City's website, social media platforms, and the City Channel, is a central aspect of the position. In addition, the role oversees and coordinates production of the Outlook, the City’s printed community newsletter, as well as communications related to special events.

Assisting the Mayor with official communications, sharing information from other organizations regarding upcoming events, providing tours of City Hall and serving as the point of contact for community organizations, providing staff support to City commissions and City Council meetings, and coordinating environmental programs are all aspects of this role that create an interesting, rewarding, and stimulating variety of work.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for the Community Relations Manager/Public Information Officer is $142,044—$188,880. Placement in this range is dependent upon qualifications.

• Retirement – The City participates in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) under a 2% @ 60 formula for Classic Members. The City contributes 3% to a 401(a) plan as well as $200/month to an Retirement Health Saving (RHS) plan. Voluntary Roth IRA & 457 plans available.
• Medical Benefit – The City offers two choices for coverage—Kaiser or Health Net. The City pays 75% of the Kaiser monthly premium at each coverage level. 
• Medical in Lieu –  The City will contribute $400 (employee only coverage) or $500 (employee + 1 coverage) or $600 (family coverage) in cash, or a contribution to a 457 deferred compensation plan, in lieu of medical coverage.
• Dental & Vision: City-paid for employee and eligible dependents.
• Life Insurance – City-paid coverage equal to 1x annual salary.
• Holidays – 14 paid holidays per year.
• Vacation Leave – Up to 25 days based on years of service.
• Sick Leave – Accrues at the rate of one day per month, with no maximum accrual.
• Administrative Leave – Up to 16 hours of administrative leave each month on a non-cumulative basis.
• Flexible Spending (Section 125) Plan – Dependent care and out-of-pocket medical costs may be paid on a pre-tax basis.

The Public Works Department is responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving the City’s public infrastructure – streets, water, storm, public buildings, the City’s fleet, trees, parks, and traffic signals. The Department also reviews plans and inspects construction of public improvements to serve private residential and commercial development and plans the capital and operating budgets.

The Department is seeking to hire engineering and public administration interns to provide support for several programs as described below:

The Department:
The responsibilities of the City Attorney's Office broadly consist of representing and advising the City Council, City officials, and employees of all City departments in all matters of law pertaining to their offices and departments. This includes appearing on behalf of the City in legal actions or proceedings, providing the City Council with information and advice on wide range of legal matters including litigation and new legislation, and staffing City Council and City Board and Commission meetings as necessary. The City Attorney's Office provides legal advice and support on matters initiated by the City Council, City Manager's Office, and all City departments. Typical work includes research and opinion on various issues; review and negotiation of contracts, leases, or permits; drafting employee policies; review and drafting of resolutions, ordinances, and agenda reports; and preparation of responses to Public Records Act requests.
 
The Position:
The City is recruiting to fill one (1) Assistant City Attorney position. Ideally, the position will be assigned to act as the primary advisor to the City’s Human Resources Department, with additional general municipal areas of work for other departments including but not limited to finance, governance, conflicts of interest, open meetings, and public records.
 
The position is expected to perform a wide variety of legal services ranging from litigation (or litigation management) of  administrative matters (such as internal disciplinary appeals, PERB UPC charges, and CalPERS determinations) to collective bargaining and MOU review/drafting; legal research and drafting opinions; negotiating contracts; drafting disciplinary documents; drafting resolutions and ordinances; providing on-call legal support to all divisions of the Human Resources Department (records, benefits, testing, classification, labor, workers compensation, recruitment, safety, risk management, etc.); and, staffing commission meetings such as the Civil Service Commission and Salary Setting Commission. This position is also expected to perform other duties as assigned.
 
The ideal candidate will have superior legal analytical ability and excellent research, writing and oral communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with City employees, opposing counsel, elected and appointed officials, and members of the public.
 
The ideal candidate will also have experience defending  allegations of misconduct in personnel matters, significant experience advising on human resource issues, including Fair Labor Standards Act, Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, labor negotiations, California Public Employees’ Retirement Law, state and federal benefits/leave laws, state and federal employment-related tax laws, and experience providing training in laws, regulations, policies and best practices in personnel management and workplace misconduct

This is a professional position in the Unclassified Service, is an “at-will” position, and the incumbent serves at the discretion of the City Manager. This position is responsible for performing a broad range of duties, which deal with more complex issues. An incumbent in this classification must exercise independent judgment and discretion; manage, control, and direct employees; and formulate administrative policies for the effective use of assigned personnel. The position requires a demonstrated ability to work well with management, professional and administrative support employees in the Office; with clients, professionals, managers, City’s executive management team and all City Departments and elected and appointed officials from the City and various boards, commissions, and committees. Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE
• J.D. or L.L.B. from an accredited law school;
• Six (6) years recent experience in the general practice of law.  Four (4) years of the qualifying experience must include dealing with municipal, county or state governmental agencies in the State of California;
• One year of supervisory experience is desirable; and
• Trial experience is highly desirable.

CERTIFICATION
• Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California is required;
• Admission to the Federal District Court and Federal Appeals Court Bar is desirable.

LICENSE:
Possession of an appropriate California driver's license is required.
