The City of Redwood City, City Manager’s Office, invites you to apply for the position of Management Analyst II-Homelessness/Human Services.  In recent years, Redwood City has emerged as a leader in deploying innovative solutions to address homelessness in our local community. These efforts reflect the City’s broader commitment to human services and ensuring that individuals experiencing homelessness have access to housing, supportive services, and long-term pathways to stability. The position will also support the creation of the anti-camping ordinance. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join the team that is leading the City’s efforts on homelessness.  The Management Analyst will work closely with City leadership to design and implement strategies to address homelessness.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Support the Assistant City Manager or his/her designee with the financial oversight and analysis of the $3.5 million annual budget for the City’s Homelessness Initiatives.
• Comply with state, county, and private grant requirements including cost allocations and documentation of Homelessness Initiatives Program expenditures by contracted service providers, strengthening of reporting systems.
• Manage grants from inception through close out, ensuring that best practices are followed, and spend down is maximized.
• Create annual budgets and budgets for proposals, complete budget modifications, and monitor actual expenditures versus budget.
• Prepare grant invoices and financial reports.
• Prepare financial reports for the City’s Homelessness Initiatives.
• Monitor and track budget, revenue, and expenditures for Homelessness Initiatives within the City’s financial system and with City’s Finance Staff.
• Develop cost/benefit analysis of City’s Homelessness Initiatives investments in relationship to ongoing costs of mitigation.
• Draft staff reports and other written materials.

• Providing information on parking citations, permits, and applicable regulations.

• Reporting missing or damaged traffic signs, signals, or roadway markings.

• Assisting with traffic control during accidents or special events.

The City of Redwood City invites you to apply for the position of Senior Long Range Planner within the Community Development Department’s Planning Division. Description 

Under varying levels of supervision, performs maintenance and repair of City facilities, roads, streets, water and sewer maintenance activities and performs other duties essential to the maintenance of the City. Current and valid  water distribution certifications and Class A/B commercial drivers license are highly desirable. 

Classifications 

Maintenance Worker I: This is the entry-level class in the maintenance series. Under immediate supervision the applicant will perform semi-skilled labor and maintenance and repair. Salary $40,333.75 - $52,125.54 per year ($19.393 - $25.063 per hour) DOQ

Maintenance Worker II: This is the journey level class in the maintenance series. Under general supervision the applicant will perform semi-skilled and skilled labor and maintenance repair. Salary $44,680.45 - $57,743.03 per year ($21.484 - $27.758 per hour) DOQ

Maintenance Worker III: This is the senior level class in the maintenance series. Under limited supervision the applicant will organize, assign, review, and participate in the work of assigned personnel engaged in maintenance equipment operation work pertaining to building, maintenance and repair. Salary $48,664.92 - $62,892.37 per year ($23.399 - $30.234 per hour) DOQ 

The City of Burlingame (pop. 30,000) is a thriving suburban city three miles south of the San Francisco Airport. It boasts a significant shoreline and has two main downtown areas. With a team of 69 staff and a $52 million budget, the Public Works Department is responsible for facilities, fleet, sewers, streets, water and wastewater, engineering, and the CIP.

                             SELECTION PROCESS: 

• Applications will be evaluated based on education, training, and experience as it relates to the position
• Candidates who possess the best combination of qualifications will be evaluated by their responses to the supplemental questions. During the assessment process, the rater(s) will not have access to your name, application or resume. You are solely evaluated on your supplemental responses, so please be detailed as possible. 
• The eligibility list for hire will be determined by the supplemental questions. 
• Additional testing such a written, oral panel interviews, and department level interviews may occur.
• Applicants seeking Veteran’s Preference must submit form DD214 with application.

*ALL OFFERS OF EMPLOYMENT ARE CONTINGENT UPON THE FOLLOWING:

• Passing a background investigation
• Passing a pre-employment physical and/or drug screen, if applicable 
• Providing (3) professional references, including (1) direct supervisor
• Providing copies of degree(s), training certifications/licenses listed on application/resume
