Responsibilities

Qualifications

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program (AOP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. 

 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill three (3) full-time vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays. • Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedures;

POSITION SUMMARY

The Wildfire Resilience Coordinator will manage projects related to the overall MRCA efforts regarding wildfire resilience, including tracking and analyzing existing funding sources related to wildfire preparedness and response, supporting staff project as defined by the early action wildfire resilience plan, coordinating with other MRCA and SMMC staff members working on wildfire related projects and programs, preparing and documenting further regional needs.

 

This position requires a highly motivated, responsible, organized and self-starting individual who can handle an array of tasks at the same time as part of standard workload, has good judgment and can make decisions, and works well independently and as part of a small team.

 

This is professional and technical work pursuant to the terms of grants, contracts, and applicable regulations, involving frequent communication with others. Project managers must also build community and political support, seek funding opportunities, actively cooperate with other government agencies and non­profit organizations, and keep abreast of related planning processes. The work performed will support MRCA’s capital Workprogram for wildfire resilience including improvements, workforce development, ignition prevention and suppression, inspection and monitoring and structure hardening and other MRCA efforts related to public access, open space conservation, habitat restoration, and urban park development. Special projects assigned or led by the Chief of Staff will be supported by this position.

• Oversee consultants and contractors, manage contracts, coordinate project team and collaborate with coworkers to ensure that the project scope is completed according to grant agreements, schedules, and cost limits. Assist in selection of consultants/contractors.
• Write and coordinate grant proposals and research new funding opportunities for wildfire resilience and workforce development related planning efforts.

• Produce written materials including staff reports, text for publication, proposals, progress reports, and a variety of other documents.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The Seasonal Wildland Firefighter will protect agency parkland and resources and performs a wide variety of skilled park construction, maintenance, and patrol work; assists the public in natural resources interpretation and information; provides fire protection, suppression, vehicle and equipment maintenance. To protect visitors, park land and infrastructures and to insure a safe and peaceful environment for public usage. 

This position requires a highly motivated, responsible, organized and self-starter individual who can handle an array of tasks, has good judgement in making decisions, and can work independently or as part of a team. Supervision

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs extensive weed abatement to reduce fire hazards and for native revegetation; with use of tractor, chain saw, weed whacker, spraying herbicide or use of hand tools, in/on a variety of landscape types and topographies.
• Provides information to park visitors on park features, natural resources, historical interpretation, safety, and rules.  May lead interpretive hikes.
• Constructs and repairs park facilities such as fencing, restrooms, gates, kiosks.
• Install and maintain park water distribution and suppression systems.
• Directs volunteer crews such as trail crews, community service workers, and the volunteer Mounted Assistance Units. Coordinate with organized public groups utilizing park facilities.

Occasional overtime work in evenings, nights,  weekends, and holidays upon prior approval by supervisor. This position will work out of Holiday Camp Fire Station in Calabasas but may be required to travel to various other locations.

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must at least have a High School diploma or Equivalent

• Meeting requirements of a Firefighter TYPE 2 (T) NWCG 310-1 2006 is required (S-130, S-190)

• Must pass the Wildland Firefighter Work Capacity "Arduous Pack Test" (iall candidates must perfrom the pack test administered by MRCA.  The Fire Division uses the pack test for basic physical and candidate assesstment.

• No prior fire experience is required, however is desired.

Training and Certification

• Attend the 8hr RT-130 Annual Fireline Safety Refresher if already certified in the fire service, (Terms and conditions apply)
• Completion of BLS First Aid and CPR/AED, or obtain through MRCA when available
• Current National Registry EMT Certification is desired, but not required.

Knowledge of: 

• Moderate proficiency with Office 365 and email, with particular emphasis on word-processing and spreadsheet programs is desired.

Ability to:

• Prioritize varying tasks and projects, and manage multiple projects at once.
• Work independently to handle multiple tasks under deadlines.

Other Requirements

Candidates must have a valid California driver’s license in good standing with a satisfactory driving record. Employees must be willing to participate in agency emergency response, which can be anywhere within the state of California. Bilingual skills in English and another locally common language, such as Spanish, Korean, Farsi, Chinese, Armenian, Yiddish, or Tagalog is highly desired.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure;
  completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.
