THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Public Works (PW) is committed to providing the highest standards of service delivery to the community as it works to build, maintain, and update the City’s civic infrastructure. Public Works is comprised of approximately 50 employees with a general budget of $33 million and a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget that ranges between $15–$30 million depending on the City’s annual infrastructure needs. 

 

Its mission is to ensure San Rafael’s infrastructure meets the needs of a vibrant and growing city through careful management of major improvements and the maintenance of the City’s assets. THE POSITION

The mission of the Senior Management Analyst in the City of San Rafael’s Public Works Department is to provide strategic analysis, fiscal oversight, public communications,  and management projects that enhance the City’s infrastructure, services, and quality of life. This role works to build relationships through internal and external stakeholder collaboration and issue resolution. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field. A master’s degree in public administration, public policy, or business administration is highly desirable.

The City of Sebastopol is seeking a professional, collaborative problem-solver to serve as the next Planning Director. The Planning Director will direct, oversee, and materially participate in the work of the City’s Planning Department, including current and long-range planning, maintenance of the General Plan, Housing Element, and zoning codes, and review of proposals for construction and development within the City of Sebastopol. The selected candidate will coordinate activities, permits, and projects with other City departments. In addition to reviewing and preparing recommendations to the Planning Commission on development proposals, and serve as the official secretary and officer of the Planning Commission.

The Planning Director performs professional planning duties in the fields of long-range planning, current planning, and building permitting, including a variety of diverse professional planning assignments. The incumbent will oversee technical reviews and evaluations of land use and permit applications, handle the most complex customer service issues, environmental impact documents, and construction projects, and provide supervision or lead direction to professional and support staff. The director will ensure compliance with all aspects of the City’s General Plan and related ordinances and laws, and perform related work as assigned.

• Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, data entry, and inventory management. Gain exposure to the behind-the-scenes operations of a fire department.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.  

• Must possess a valid EMT (EMT-1/EMT-B) Certificate either through the National Registry EMT or State of California. Must maintain local certification requirements.  

• Must possess a valid CPR “Healthcare Provider” card issued by the American Heart Association or equivalent.  

• Must possess, or within one month of appointment must obtain, an Ambulance Driver Certificate through the CA DMV.  

• Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory record.

• Physical fitness and ability to perform basic physical tasks, continuously move +/-25lbs, and lift up to 50lbs.

THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael, Child Care Division is accepting applications for Child Care Aide to work in our School-Age Program.  We are looking for people who are available Monday thru Friday from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.  This is a great part-time position for someone who attends school in the morning.  No weekend work required!

This position performs the following essential job duties (including but not limited to):

• Assist Director and Instructors in planning and implementing activities.
• Assist in the supervision of children at the child care center or on outings/trips.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and materials.
• Assist in the preparation and cleanup of snacks.
• Other related duties as assigned.

To be eligible for this position you must have knowledge of:

• Child guidance methods.
• Developmentally-appropriate practices and curriculum.

To be eligible for this position you must possess the ability to:

• Accept direction from supervisor.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships.
• Work as scheduled.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Some experience with school age children, preferably 6 months.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Department of Justice and FBI fingerprint clearance
• Prefer possession of a valid California Driver’s License
• Must have a current TB test clearance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to perform physical activities such as but not limited to lifting or carrying children or heavy items (up to 40 lbs.) unassisted, reaching, bending, standing, or walking. The Greater Vallejo Recreation District is a Special Service District that has been serving area residents for over sixty years. As a Special Service District, GVRD operates as a separate government agency from the City of Vallejo. GENERAL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising staff in landscape activities, defining and adhering to fertilization requirements, conducting inspections of grounds, and responding to resident concerns.

Supervise and participate in the preparation, application and use of chemicals fertilizers and pesticides; prepare and maintain records for monthly pesticides report; inspect pesticide storage facilities for compliance with state and local laws and regulations.

The Town of Truckee is seeking an experienced and collaborative Assistant Town Manager to play a vital role in implementing the Town Council’s priorities and advancing community-focused initiatives.
