Additionally, applicants must meet the following education requirements to qualify:

Group Supervisor I ($34.61/hr-$43.24/hr) - Completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university. An emphasis in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Group Supervisor II ($39.04/hr-$48.83/hr) - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. A degree in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Selected candidates must be available to work flexible shifts, including graveyards, day shift, swing shift, weekends and holidays at any of the Probation Department locations. Selected candidates must also successfully pass a background investigation, including fingerprints, medical examination, psychological evaluation, a truth verification test and be free from any physical, emotional or mental condition which might adversely affect the exercise of the powers of a Peace Officer. Felony and misdemeanors convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Group Supervisors hired into permanent positions must pass PC 832 peace officer training and complete a 160 hour STC training course within one year of appointment.

There are currently various vacancies in the Probation Department. Depending on qualifications, the vacancy may be filled at the Group Supervisor I or Group Supervisor II level.

Examples Of Duties

Group Supervisors are responsible for:

• Supervising daily activities of youth in confinement.
• Observing and supervising unstable youth.
• Enforcing security and safety measures including searches of youth and their living quarters for contraband.
• May perform housekeeping tasks.
• Providing orientation for newly detained youth.
• Explaining and enforcing rules and regulations.
• Providing transportation for youth from the County's detention facilities to other facilities and medical offices.
• Supervising daily activities such as meals, showers, housekeeping, laundry, yard work, recreation, vocational work crews, and visitation.
• Providing individual and group counseling.
• Leading group discussions and facilitating rehabilitation programs.
• Maintaining daily records of observations, incidents and events.
• Logging information, writing reports and summaries of behavior and maintaining records and files.
• Physically restraining assaultive youth and de-escalating violent behavior.
• Maintaining a safe environment for the youth and staff.
• Being a positive role model and authority figure.
• Participate in staff conferences.

Qualifications

Group Supervisor I: Completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university. An emphasis in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Group Supervisor II: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. A degree in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

• Possession of a class C California driver license or equivalent.

Other Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age on or before date of appointment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States by federal law.
• Must not have been convicted of a felony.
• Must successfully pass a background investigation prior to employment.

We are seeking two clinic managers who will operate under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Ambulatory Care. The clinic managers plan, coordinate, direct, manage, supervise and evaluate the full range of programs and services offered at the community-based health clinics; recommend, develop, implement and evaluate goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to clinics; provide leadership and coordination to community groups, public and private agencies, advisory boards and volunteers in planning and implementing clinic services; and provide highly complex staff support to senior-level management. The clinic managers also lead and participate in complex performance improvement activities; develop systems to track the progress of strategic initiatives, departmental operational goals, and communicate progress in key forums; develop productive relationships with labor partners while navigating operational needs and developing and sustaining effective employee engagement processes. The clinic managers exercise direct and indirect supervision over a diversified clinical and support staff team.

The ideal candidates will have working knowledge of clinic operations, particularly in outpatient clinics that offer primary care, adolescent care, and pediatrics, as well as in budgeting and scheduling. The ideal candidates will also be experienced in change management, improving patient satisfaction scores, and continuous process improvement (Lean). Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, direct, monitor, coordinate and evaluate the operations and service delivery programs of a regional health clinic or clinics, including needs assessment, program design and planning, implementation, evaluation, and regulatory enforcement.

• Direct, coordinate, and participate in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities that balance both mandated services and community health care needs.

• Assess the quality of patient care; develop and generate community support for changes or enhancements to service delivery methods; advocate for patients with medical staff to ensure appropriate care is provided.

• Monitor census/patient flow and project future patient care demands; develop staffing schedules and assignments to provide the necessary level and type of care.

• Develop, present, and advocate for clinic funding; administer and monitor the approved budget to ensure the accomplishment of clinic care objectives within budget restrictions.

• Act as liaison between senior-level management, advisory boards and commissions, regulatory bodies, and program staff to ensure that all appropriate policies and guidelines are followed, and that programs are funded with adequate resources to maintain mandated and expected levels of service.

• Maintain an effective working relationship with a variety of public and private organizations, including other Health Services Agency staff, County departments, and agencies.

• Consult with other program managers on relevant program issues; develop alternative strategies for dealing with community health needs and assist in the implementation of solutions as necessary.

• Act as advocate and spokesperson in the community in support of programs and services; interpret, explain, and direct the enforcement of community health-related standards, codes, and regulations.

• Provide highly complex staff assistance to senior-level management and related commissions and advisory boards on program issues.

• Prepare a wide variety of detailed written reports, policies, procedures, and contracts.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• Three years of administrative or managerial experience in a healthcare delivery, social, or community services organization, including significant responsibility for one or more of the following: program and budget development, program service delivery, funding, utilization, coordination of community resources, or program evaluation.

The Position

The San Bruno Police Department is recruiting for Public Safety Dispatchers (Lateral.)  Public Safety Dispatchers are responsible for public safety dispatch and related records management activities. This position operates on a 24-hour, 365 days per year basis, and may be assigned to either a day, swing, or graveyard shift on a regular, rotational basis that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.  Public Safety Dispatchers perform a wide range of duties involving radio, telephone, and computers, applying various procedures and codes. Dispatchers receive and transmit emergency and non-emergency telephone and radio traffic as well as process communication reports, records, and radio logs, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.  Dispatchers may also support the Police Department by performing clerical tasks, training, assisting with fingerprinting, and being accountable for financial transactions.  This position is integral in supporting the goals and objectives of the City and Police Department.  

Essential Duties

• Receives and transmits emergency telephone and radio traffic. 
• Maintains and processes a variety of communications reports, records and radio logs.
• Operates a dispatch console, uses Computer Aided Dispatch (C.A.D.) System and other computer programs to process information and records.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
• Performs collateral duties including a variety of related clerical tasks: assisting in preparation of work schedules; training and evaluating performance of new employees; conducting training sessions; assisting in fingerprinting and jail operations, which may include searching prisoners; and is accountable for handling cash, bond, and check transactions.
• Plans, organizes, and directs dispatching and related activities on an assigned shift. This may include preparing schedules and prioritizing work; observing work performed by Dispatcher I employees to ensure compliance with standards; approving time off; conducting employee evaluations; and providing effective recommendations on personnel matters.
• Prepares and maintains training and procedure manuals.  As required, prepares special reports, and undertakes projects for Management Staff.
• May act as Records/Dispatcher Supervisor in their absence.
• Maintains liaison with other Department Divisions, City Departments, and other law enforcement and emergency response agencies.
• Maintains various C.A.D and Record Management Files.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Instrument Control Technician installs, maintains, calibrates, tests and repairs a variety of data acquisition, radio communications, and instrumentation and control equipment for wastewater collection and treatment plant systems; principal oversight of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC); assists in the oversight of the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS); performs highly skilled electrical, electronic and mechanical work related to in-plant metering equipment and remote controlled devices; operates, monitors, and controls an advanced wastewater treatment (tertiary) system; and performs other related work as required.

Depending upon assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in the installation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic and electromechanical equipment to ensure proper operation; assist in the troubleshooting and repairing of control system and electrical power failures in the WWTP, pump and lift station.
• Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electronic and electromechanical equipment to ensure proper operation; maintain and troubleshoot computerized process control equipment such as PLCs, RTUs, and SCADA system devices; troubleshoot control system and electrical power system failures in plants, lifts and pump stations; and maintain awareness of new related technology.
• Develops and implements improvement projects for the instrumentation and controls systems and equipment by contractors or in-house staff. Clean, oil and paint equipment.
• Maintain documentation and records for the department’s SCADA system and instrumentation/control systems at the wastewater treatment plant (schematics, licenses, etc.).  Perform regular technical programming of the SCADA system to provide programming and troubleshooting assistance as needed during special testing and operations. Confer with operators, mechanics, project engineers and supervisors regarding SCADA issues.
• Respond to and resolve internal customer complaints and issues; provide documentation as required. Communicate in advance with affected staff on programming and related SCADA work.
• Provide oversight, technical support, inspection and coordination over control system modification made by contractors. Maintain documentation and plans of modifications.
• Prepare reports on technical issues as required.
• Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for documenting activities in instrumentation and control areas related to programming of RTUs and HMI software, field implementation of programming change, and process control improvements.
• Provides safety and skills training to apprentice instrumentation technicians, electrician and other plant staff.
• Write basic PLC programming for the implementation of system modifications and process enhancements. Interpret, prepare, and verify control schematics, diagrams and prints.  Provide technical assistance and guidance to staff. Program control systems, instruments and computer operated devices.
• Read, understand and perform minor modifications to existing PLC code. Download PLC programs to PLCs and RTUs.
• Perform as lead person on Instrumentation/Controls projects; effectively provide training and direction to the Instrument Control Technician, calibration Technician and other plant staff.
• Install, troubleshoot, modify, and implement computer hardware and software applications and components. Analyze and correct data communication and acquisition system problems.

San Mateo County Health- San Mateo Medical Center seeks well-qualified candidates for the position of Program Coordinator I in the Patient Access Division. The current vacancy is a full-time, limited term vacancy. The duration of the assignment will last about 6 months.

 

Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide support to over 150 Patient Services Assistants across various departments, including Emergency, Admitting, Long-Term Care, Same-Day Surgery, and will average 27 Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites with 8-16 hours of weekly program refresher training on several publicly sponsored coverage options.

 

Additionally, this position will assist the team with several EPIC post-go-live projects, and work queues as we work to revamp processes and enhance collaboration for improved workflows and revenue-generating process efficiencies.

The Position: 
An incumbent in this classification is responsible for the safe operation of an assigned swimming pool, including supervising pool personnel, overseeing conduct of pool events, ensuring  collection and security of revenue, and attendant record keeping.  Candidates must be able to serve a variety of ages, abilities and needs in participants from diverse backgrounds with tact and professionalism.
 
As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
• Education equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade; and
• Three (3) years of experience in swimming pool management, swimming instruction, lifeguarding, or related activity; and
• Must be at least 17 years of age at time of application

Possible Substitution
• One (1) year of experience in lifeguarding and/or swimming instruction with the City of Santa Clara may be substituted for the required three (3) years of experience.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES
Possession of the following certificates is required:
• A valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certificate or Completion of City of Santa Clara Learn to Swim Instruction Program; and
• A valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate; and
• In accordance with State of California law, a valid California Work Permit is required at time of appointment for candidates under the age of 18 who have not graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate of proficiency
