The Community Services Department is committed to providing quality programs, services, and spaces to benefit the health and well-being of the community. Within Community Services, the Parks Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance of all City’s outdoor recreation sites, including 20 parks covering 68 acres, 6 baseball fields, 128 acres of open space, all City owned facilities, over 7 miles of medians, and one dog park.
The Maintenance Instructor is responsible for all the classroom and on-the-job training activities relating to current bus maintenance for the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), Caltrain, and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA).
Facility Maintenance Worker I / Intern (20673192)
POSITION
To perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities. The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current temporary/part-time vacancy in our Community Services Department and to create a list for future vacancies.
Candidates who do not currently meet the minimum qualifications for the Facilities Maintenance Worker I position may be considered for an Intern position instead.
Temporary employees work no more than 130 hours per month AND 960 hours per fiscal year.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, participate and lead a crew in operating grounds equipment; perform maintenance, landscaping and gardening work on school grounds, fields and assigned areas.
