Share your passion of teaching! Course Instructors have the opportunity plan curriculum in your area of expertise and share that knowledge with a class size of 5-15 students. We need instructors for all types of programs and classes at the Community Center, with a focus on adult/senior education. We are looking for instructors with skill levels able to teach their craft to others with multiple years of experience. DEFINITION: Plan, organize and execute personal curriculum program classes. Program hours based on class date, time, location with your direct supervisor.  Preparation hours can be discussed.

The Chief Building Official serves as the principal administrative officer of the Building Division. The position directs, assigns, supervises, and plans the activities of the Building Division. The selected candidate will coordinate and direct the resolution of complex development issues and disputes and will serve as the principal enforcement officer of the building and housing codes of the City. In addition, the Chief Building Official will oversee boards and commissions and serve as a member of the City’s Executive Management Team.

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the City of Live Oak as a Part-Time Recreation Leader. The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security. 

About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

This position provides support, mentoring, education, skill-building, advocacy, and youth-guided programming to persons receiving services at the Community Drop-In Youth TAY Center located in the Behavioral Health Division at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency. The incumbent will work as part of Behavioral Health with the Transition Age Youth Team delivering outreach/engagement and supportive service to youth and families on school campuses, in the community, and/or at the TAY Center. Individuals between the ages of sixteen and twenty-four (16-24) years of age are encouraged to apply. This position is at-will, temporary, part-time and scheduled for up to twenty-five (25) hours per week.  
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Model unconditional commitment to assisting the TAY consumers in “tough time”, “over the long haul” and to do “whatever it takes” to provide service to the client/consumer.
• Perform group education for clients/consumers and/or support persons and provide ongoing support as needed.
• Be available for TAY consumers, in the event of a crisis, for support.
• Set up, prepare, and plan events for TAY consumers and TAY drop-in center guests.
• Represent concerns of the TAY consumers in policy and program planning meetings.
• Coordinate activities with other agencies/individuals engaged in providing or developing support for the TAY consumers who are in the program.
• Make program presentations to community stakeholders and groups.
• Participate in gathering information regarding satisfaction with services and recommendations regarding ways to improve services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:

• Basic computer and effective verbal and written communication preferred. 
• Able to assist in the efforts to help reduce negative stigma towards those individuals with mental health issues or concerns. 
• Have knowledge of time management and problem-solving skills and able to maintain and honor all levels of confidentiality.

Information Technology Technician

The Town of Los Gatos is recruiting for an IT Technician to work in a dynamic, customer service-oriented and fast-paced environment where problem solving, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and strong communication skills are a must. The IT Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, peripheral equipment, and Town-wide electronic mail systems; assesses user training needs and trains users in effective use of applications; makes recommendations regarding hardware and software acquisitions; prepares documentation and provides user assistance to Town staff; and performs related work as required. This position will report to the IT Director. Schedule & Other Information: The IT Technician position is a temporary (up to 20 hours per week), at-will, non-benefited position limited to 999 hours of employment in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). This position is not eligible for a remote or hybrid work schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field such as computer science, information technology systems or a related field, and one year of experience in information systems and support.

Substitution: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in information systems and support may substitute the required education and completion of high school or equivalent.  Experience substitutions are determined at the discretion of the Town of Los Gatos.

The Extra Help Employee - Clinical Nurse position will be housed with the Health and Human Services Agency in the Behavioral Health division. This is a journey-level technical classification. Positions at this level work independently while exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This position is scheduled for up to twenty fine (25) hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

• Conducts immunization and flu vaccination clinics for children and adults on-site and in community settings.
• Participates in program outreach and public information / publicity activities.
• Performs general office work as required, including but not limited to copying and filing documents, preparing/typing documents, answering the telephone, faxing information, entering computer data, attending meetings, ordering supplies, maintaining office cleanliness, etc.
• Prepares required reports and records with accuracy and in a timely manner.

California-licensed Professional Civil Engineer are eligible for an additional 2% differential above base salary.

New, Full-time regular hire Civil Engineers are eligible to receive a $10,000.00 signing bonus, which will be split into two equal payments: 50% at the time of hire (i.e. first paycheck) and the remaining 50% after successful completion of their probationary period.

There are two (2) Full Time Regular Hire vacancies, one (1) in the Engineering Division and one (1) in the Land Development Division.

The Civil Engineer helps define, design and/or review minor projects and phases of large civil engineering projects with complex budgets and timelines. This position exercises substantial initiative, judgment, and expertise to meet program and project needs. The Civil Engineer may be responsible for designing projects, reviewing project plans and specifications prepared by consultants, or reviewing development applications. The Civil Engineer helps in selecting consultants, preparing contract documents, and administering contracts during construction. This position provides direction and mentorship to more junior staff and oversees both technical and administrative work to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively for the public good.

Engineering Division
Projects may include such things as: bridge repair and replacement, culvert repair and replacement, new retaining walls, pavement management, road improvements, new stormwater management devices, new traffic management devices and others.

Land Development Division
Projects include a full range of private development from improvements to single family homes and small businesses to new subdivisions with extensive new infrastructure. This position issues and oversees permits such as grading, creek and quarry permits, supports the Road Commissioner role by issuing encroachment permits, transportation permits, and film permits, ensures private development project comply with stormwater regulations, floodplain management requirements, and use of the public rights-of-way, interacts with the public at the Counter and in meetings, and coordinates with the Community Development Agency to develop conditions of approval for development projects.

Hybrid schedule:
The Department of Public Works has embraced a hybrid work schedule that considers that some duties of this position may be performed remotely. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments, and/or disaster service work upon short notice, as needed and deemed appropriate. During the initial probationary period, the successful candidate may be required to work primarily onsite before establishing a hybrid work schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers and three years of increasingly responsible engineering experience.
