Position Summary

Under general supervision, operates a variety of transit vehicles to transport passengers along specific, assigned routes according to the District's requirements. Provide service in a safe, courteous and reliable manner. Responsible for written reports and other information as required. Upon completion of the Golden Gate Transit Training Program, the employee operates regularly scheduled assignments. All runs will originate in either Santa Rosa, Novato or San Rafael.

Hourly Pay: $31.29/hour to $36.81/hour

 If selected for the position, new hires will need to complete Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District’s Bus Operator Apprenticeship Program ($31.29/hr benefits not included) which is approximately twelve (12) weeks, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Upon successful completion of training, pay increase granted to $33.13 per hour, plus benefits. All new hires will be required to complete a 120 probationary period upon completion of training.

Essential Responsibilities

• Transports passengers along assigned routes, making designated stops as required or requested 
• Uses the fare box to accurately collect fares, issues transfers and gives general information • Completes reports on patron count, non-scheduled mileage, vehicular deficiencies, fare box, accidents and other reports as required 
• Operates automatic lift on buses and assists passengers in wheelchairs, those using crutches or walkers, or who have speech or mental difficulty 
• Ensures that Driver’s license and all other documents required of a commercial licensee are maintained and are current and valid 
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job 
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service 
• Performs additional related duties as assigned 
• Regular and reliable attendance and performance are required

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

The Port of San Francisco is embarking on a multi-year project to replace the organization’s legacy enterprise business applications with a modern, unified platform built on Salesforce. This project will lead the replacement and migration of Port Enterprise technologies that have reached end-of-life with modern systems that support and promote the department's business capabilities. The project is focused on building and implementing data-rich, constituent-and user-focused, integrated systems. The successful candidate for this role will set technical direction, write software and make crucial decisions about software architecture as well as providing general technical leadership, mentoring and general supervision to the team. 

Under direction, the Modernization Engineering Project Lead:  

• Plans, organizes, performs, delivers, directs and/or controls highly complex technology-related work products requiring industry or product expertise in broad areas of information technology.  
• Collaborates closely with the Technology Project Manager, Senior User Research Analyst, business stakeholders, and technical teams to design and deliver modern solutions. 
• Provides technical leadership across Salesforce, Kahua, Snowflake, and related technologies while helping balance technical, business, and end-user needs, and guides a small team of technical professionals supporting the modernization effort.  
• Supervises, managing the work of four technical positions, and will be responsible for building a highly performing team inclusive of their direct reports, partners within Port Technology, alongside stakeholders and end users.

The Position

The Position - Employees in this classification will be hired on a limited duration not to exceed two (2) years.

These positions will be responsible for conducting comprehensive data collection, operational studies, analytical reviews, and preparing detailed reports to support departmental and citywide decision making. San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department

The San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department commenced operations on January 13, 2019. THE ORGANIZATION

Incorporated in 1927, Menlo Park is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council is the City's five-member governing body whose members are elected by district to four-year overlapping terms in general municipal elections. THE POSITION

The Human Resources Manager is a key management position at the City. This individual plans, manages, and oversees the daily functions, operations, and activities of Human Resources, working collaboratively with the Administrative Services Director and management staff across the City. It is essential that this position is responsive to all customers and takes a proactive approach to building relationships throughout the organization, recognizing the value and unique contributions made by each and every employee. This individual serves as the main point of contact on employee relations matters and leads labor relations for the City’s five unions (general employees, supervisors and mid-management, police officers, police sergeants, and temporary employees), along with the confidential and unrepresented management groups. This position leads highly-complex projects; conducts a variety of organizational and operational studies and investigations; and prepares and presents staff reports, policies, and other correspondence for the City Council and all employees. The Human Resources Manager leads a staff of five, comprised of three Management Analysts and two Human Resources Technicians, to accomplish a wide variety of daily tasks, policy and labor agreement administration, and process improvements, and is responsible for interpreting and complying with the various regulatory requirements from Federal, State, and local agencies.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on the following upcoming projects:

• Manage projects currently underway that involve collaborating with employees at all levels of the organization, including the citywide classification and compensation study and the employee engagement survey.
• Retool several division functions, including performance management, recruitment, selection and retention processes, leave programs, and workers' compensation leave administration.
• Promote employee engagement and performance management through enhanced training programs and citywide recognition events and other initiatives identified through the engagement survey analysis.
• Continue to manage and develop content for the popular “HR Bits and Bites” trainings, where supervisors and managers connect with Human Resources and one another for development and relationship-building over snacks.
• Train and develop Human Resources staff to form a cohesive team equipped to succeed.
• Review and update policies and practices to ensure compliance with employment laws.

General

The Principal Transportation Planner, Multimodal Corridor Programs will report to the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) Manager, Planning and Fund Management, and will be responsible for leading strategic planning initiatives for the Corridor Connect Program, managing the Highway Program Call for Projects, and leading major multimodal safety and congestion relief planning projects. This Principal Transportation Planner will work in partnership with jurisdiction staff across San Mateo County to support local agencies with complex transportation projects, community engagement, and grant or funding strategy development. This role will also support the Planning & Fund Management team members with other SMCTA managed programs, as needed, including the Pedestrian & Bicycle Program and Transportation Demand Management Program.

• Manage complex and multi-disciplinary planning projects, or significant portions of such projects, involving a high level of technical complexity, public visibility, and coordination with numerous stakeholders.
• Compile, arrange, analyze, and interpret transportation, demographic and financial data, and presenting them in both quantitative and qualitative formats.
• Facilitate public meetings/workshops and assist with promoting community-based organization partnerships in planning efforts.
• Provide technical assistance to stakeholder agencies on various transportation subject areas by leading projects on behalf of outside agencies, managing consultant contracts, and providing strategic guidance on an as needed basis.
• Lead the development of funding strategies to assist with advanced planning for implementing projects.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to help advance and support mobility initiatives with a focus on multimodal safety and congestion relief for highways and major arterials.
• May supervise staff including hiring, mentoring and taking appropriate corrective and/or disciplinary action. Ensure EEO and affirmative action policies and procedures are followed. Coordinate staff training and professional development, establish performance objectives, monitor and evaluate employee performance. 

• Advance planning work related to a number of wide-ranging topics including but not limited to the following: mobility hubs, transportation demand management, bicycle and pedestrian planning and concept design, signal operations, and/or multimodal highway planning efforts.

• Manage projects and/or programs in partnership with outside agencies, including but not limited to cities, County of San Mateo, and City/County of San Mateo Association of Governments (C/CAG).

• Prepare or coordinate the research, analysis and writing of reports for the SMCTA Board and/or advisory committees.

• Develop and present oral reports in relation to SMCTA planning and program initiatives.

• Assist with the strategic development and preparation of grant applications.

• Establish and maintain working relationships with key partners at the local, regional, and state levels.  

• Assist with the development of strategic planning efforts.

• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Transportation/Urban Planning, Public Policy, Economics, Engineering, and/or other related field. 

• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in providing professional-level multimodal transportation planning and concept designs. 

• Knowledge of transportation planning and/or engineering for bicycle/pedestrian, transit, transportation demand management, multimodal highways and the environmental process for transportation projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual and best practice design standards such as NACTO, AASHTO, and other sources.
• Knowledge of local, regional, state, and federal grant funding opportunities.  
• Experience with GIS and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven experience utilizing analytical, written and verbal communication and presentation skills at many different levels of an organization.
• Effective oral and written communications skills.

The City of Pacifica is seeking a seasoned, collaborative, and forward-thinking leader to serve as Deputy Director of Public Works - Field Services & Engineering. Applications are being accepted for the position of Engineering Intern with the City of South San Francisco’s Public Works Department - Engineering Division. This is a non-benefited, part-time hourly/temporary position.

THE POSITION
Under supervision, performs sub-professional engineering office work to assist the Public Works Engineering Division teams on programs and projects that may include engineering permits, land development plan checks, procedural and standards research and development, record and asset management, traffic research and field crew assistance.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SECTION
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in basic engineering principles and demonstrate proficiency in modern drafting and design practices. They should be familiar with engineering office tools and computer-aided drafting software such as AutoCAD, as well as design and GIS mapping systems.

We are seeking someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and self-motivated, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate should be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

The ideal candidate will have willingness to learn about construction management and inspection procedures and the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations and drafting work. They should be capable of collecting and recording engineering field data with a high level of detail and maintaining thorough documentation. Proficiency in modern office software tools, including PowerPoint, to create professional presentations is essential. The candidate must be able to prepare clear and concise written correspondence, including responses to public inquiries, and demonstrate the ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors and the public are important. Flexibility to work varied hours as needed to meet project demands is also required.

TYPICAL DUTIES (may include but are not limited to the following):

• Performs a wide variety of responsible sub-professional engineering work including assisting engineering staff with general clerical, administrative, and technical tasks for public works projects
• Performs electronic document filing, enters data and creates reports in various software applications
• Conducts internet research and research of engineering record archives
• Processes permits and reviews land development plans
• Assists with Traffic Advisory Committee tasks
• Assists with internal and external communications and public outreach
