This is a full-time, on-site position, designed for direct collaboration with the team and active participation in daily operations.

This position works varied hours/shifts/days of the week to meet the code enforcement needs of the agency. The regular work schedule may include varied days of the week, including weekends, and work hours (days/swings to 2 a.m.) and overtime availability is required often in the evenings (to include late night hours such as 2 a.m.) or on the weekends for targeted enforcement.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Tasks involve inspections and enforcement of applicable ordinances pertaining to residential and commercial properties, housing, building construction, and other related regulations. Additionally, the Code Enforcement Officer will issue notices, citations, and follow up on compliance efforts in a fair and consistent manner. It is also imperative that the Code Enforcement Officer maintain accurate case files and documentation for possible legal proceedings.

CANDIDATE PERSPECTIVE/ LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES 
As a Code Enforcement Officer, you will have the opportunity to be part of and work with a dedicated team in maintaining and improving the quality of life of the diverse community with the City of Gilroy. Your responsibilities will include investigating complaints, documenting violations, and ensuring strict compliance with codes and regulations. You will interpret and explain City codes and ordinances, issue notices of violations, issue administrative citations, prepare written reports, administrative abatement orders, and record abatement notices. You will actively contribute to the team by assisting customers, taking the lead with some cases that may require the cooperation of other departments, attend community meetings, and work evenings and weekends.

Under general supervision, provides a variety of routine to complex clerical support services within assigned police areas, including but not limited to: typing, word processing, transcribing detailed and confidential material, record keeping and filing, and assisting with the administration of the Police Department’s budget. Performs related work as assigned.

CLASS CHARACTERISITICS:

The Police Office Assistant is a journey-level position, fully competent to independently perform a variety of office support duties. All positions are characterized by the presence of fairly clear guidelines from which to make decisions and the availability of supervision in non- routine circumstances. Specific duties, including the amount of typing, word processing, and use of on-line or personal computers, will vary with the organization unit to which assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (illustrative only):

• Types correspondence, reports, and specialized documents related to the functions of the police unit to which assigned from drafts, notes, dictated tapes, or brief instructions, using a typewriter or word processor.
• Proofreads and edits as necessary typed and other materials for accuracy, completeness, compliance with departmental policies and correct English usage, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Enters and retrieves data and prepares reports from an on-line or personal computer system, following established formats.
• Prepares and updates a variety of reports which may require the use of arithmetic calculations.
• Maintains records and processes forms such as payroll records, purchase requisitions and orders, and others specific to the organizational unit.
• Provides clerical support to the department in the implementation of operational business plans.
• Assists in the administration of internal and external contracts for interagency services with other agencies.
• Assists the Police Office Coordinator with the administration of the department budget by monitoring the budget for variances, recommending budget transfers, and balancing the overall budget at year-end.
• Establishes and maintains office files, researches and compiles information from such files.
• Provides factual information regarding City or unit activities and functions.
• Accesses confidential local, state and federal databases.
• Views and handles confidential backgrounds and personnel files of prospective and future employees.
• Reviews computer produced reports for accuracy and makes corrections as required.
• Operates standard office equipment and performs such office support activities as opening and distributing mail; processing outgoing mail, erasing dictation tapes and ordering supplies.
• Issues and maintains identification files; seals juvenile and adult arrest records.

• Serves as the Police Department’s back-up liaison to the Finance Department on matters concerning the Police Department budget.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Administrative and Fiscal Services Manager! In this role, you will serve as a budgetary and financial expert while supervising the overall administrative, business service, and fiscal activities of a City department. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this classification is:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with major work in accounting, finance, economics, business or public administration or a closely related field; and five (5) years of professional-level experience preparing and analyzing major operational and/or capital improvement budgets, and exercising fiscal controls. The City of Newark is looking for General Laborer to be an integral member of the Maintenance Division within the Public Works Department. Under supervision the incumbent will perform tasks to include general cleaning and maintenance of city parks to include planting of trees, shrubs, pruning, fertilizing and watering, mowing and edging turf areas, as well as trash removal from parks, roadways, and medians. THE POSITION

The City is currently seeking General Maintenance Workers. This temporary position works with the City’s maintenance staff to perform: unskilled labor in the parks and landscape medians, street and sidewalk maintenance, street sign maintenance, and fleet building maintenance. Duties include, but are not limited to: raking, emptying trash cans and litter removal, irrigation repair, weeding, edging, street sign maintenance and graffiti removal. Work is closely supervised; work methods are explained in specific terms and work is subject to frequent review. 

Incumbents must possess the physical and mental capacity to work under the conditions described in this document and to perform the duties required by their assigned position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in landscaping, street and sidewalk maintenance, and building maintenance, as well as safety practices and precautions to be used in work.
• Skill in operating hand and power tool equipment such as rakes, pick and shovel, etc.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and to follow oral and written instructions. Intermittently, sit while studying or listening to training; bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist when performing maintenance, repair, or installation tasks; perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation; and lift or carry heavy weights up to 90 lbs.; work in conditions of various outdoor exposure.

This role is responsible for assessing current-state challenges across infrastructure, data quality, tag management, workflows, and governance, and driving a structured program to modernize and stabilize the PI environment. The position operates in a cross-functional capacity, partnering with IT, OT/engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure the PI system is reliable, scalable, and aligned with enterprise data and analytics objectives. This is an as-needed role, with flexible hours based on project phase and organizational priorities.

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

Typical Duties:

• Lead end-to-end program management of AVEVA PI system improvement initiatives.
• Working with AVEVA, conduct current-state assessments of PI architecture, interfaces, tag structure, and data flows.
• Establish and implement PI governance frameworks, including standards for tag naming, metadata, and data ownership.
• Coordinate remediation of data quality issues and rationalization of tags and assets.
• Oversee upgrades, patching, and infrastructure modernization (on-prem and/or cloud).

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems.  

Minimum Experience Requirements: 

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical program or project management.

Acceptable Substitution: 

Four (4) years of additional experience in technical program or project management can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems.  

License/Certifications: 

Project Management Professional (PMP), PgMP, or equivalent preferred.

Desirable Qualifications: 

Demonstrated experience with AVEVA PI System (formerly OSIsoft PI), including architecture, data infrastructure, and integrations. Strong understanding of OT systems, telemetry, and real-time data environments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

In-depth understanding of AVEVA Pl System architecture (Data Archive, AF, interfaces) and real-time industrial/OT data environments, including SCADA and telemetry systems. Strong knowledge of IT/OT integration, data governance practices, and infrastructure considerations across on-premises and cloud environments.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Education/Training:

• Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.

Experience:

• Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in professional civil engineering work, including three years of supervisory and project management responsibility.

License:

• Possession of a valid driver license and a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
• Current registration as a Civil Engineer in the State of California.

Silicon Valley Power is a not-for-profit municipal electric utility serving the City of Santa Clara since 1896, delivering reliable and competitively priced electricity to over 55,000 customers, including many of the world’s largest data centers and technology companies. With one of the nation’s highest load densities and a peak demand exceeding 700 MW, SVP supports rapid regional growth through a robust transmission and distribution system and ongoing substation and infrastructure expansion and reinforcement. The utility supplies a power mix that is heavily clean and carbon-free sourced from hydro, wind, solar, and geothermal assets.

The Position: 

SVP is seeking Journey Line workers that can perform routine and emergency work maintaining and expanding SVP’s electric transmission and distribution system, including but not limited to:

• Perform electrical installation and repair work and to construct and maintain overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission system.
• Think and act appropriately and quickly in emergencies.
• Maintain good public relations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Using electrical plans and detailed drawings.
• Input data using computer programs for documenting electric facility maintenance and inspection findings.
• Effectively train and supervise others.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the general public.
• Walk or stand for extended periods of time and bend, stoop, reach, carry, crawl, climb, and lift as necessary to perform assigned duties.
• Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet strict deadlines; and Work in a team-based environment and achieve common goals.

• Possession of a valid California Class A Driver's license is required, or
• Possession of a valid California Class C license at the time of appointment and the ability to obtain a California Class A license within six months of employment.
• Incumbents in this position are required to become rubber glove certified as a condition of holding the classification of Journey Lineworker within nine (9) months of appointment.

• Incumbents of this classification may be required to work outside their regularly scheduled hours, and to be available for emergency and/or pre-arranged work whenever called upon.
• Incumbents of this classification may be subject to drug and/or alcohol testing as mandated by federal regulations.
• Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment.
