The Department

The Parks and Recreation Department is the third largest department in the City and is organized by program area, with each program administered by a supervisor, coordinator, or specialist. The department is comprised of the Recreation, Community Services, Parks, Facilities and Common Greens divisions.

The Parks Division is in charge of planning and maintaining the city’s parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and other landscaping. There are approximately 25 parks and play lots, including Sign Hill Park, which has 60 acres of open space, and Centennial Way Linear Park, a 3-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail. Amenities include Centennial Dog Park, bocce ball courts, an above-ground skate park, a variety of ball fields, tennis and basketball courts, picnic shelters and group picnic areas.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SECTION:

The ideal Park Maintenance Worker will be able to prioritize work and coordinate multiple tasks while working cooperatively with a variety of people, consistently ensuring excellent customer service. Camp Newark is seeking a confident, creative, and organized leader to serve as an Activity Coordinator for our dynamic summer camp program. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in high-energy environments and are passionate about creating meaningful experiences for youth ages 6–11. 

The Activity Coordinator plays a key leadership role in planning and delivering engaging daily programming while supporting and supervising camp staff. • Create, schedule, and implement creative camp activities for youth ages 6–11, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and STEM-based enrichment.

THE POSITION

The City of Daly City is seeking a dynamic and experienced Economic Development Program Manager to join the Office of the City Manager. Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Education & Experience

• Some completed coursework toward an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is desired but not required.

Knowledge of:

• Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

• Adobe software (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop)

• AutoCAD

• Local government operations (preferred)

Ability to:

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

• Work cooperatively with City staff

• Perform analytical work and prepare clear, concise reports

• Use tact and discretion in public and professional interactions

• Plan, organize, and complete projects on time

• Interpret and apply administrative and departmental policies

• Uphold the City’s organizational mission

• Conduct oneself professionally at all times
