The Town of Colma Recreation Services Department is currently accepting applications for Recreation Leaders for Summer 2026.  The Recreation Department provides programs and activities for Colma residents of all ages ranging from infants to seniors. Program elements include fitness, enrichment, cultural events, special events, sporting events, trips, and community events. It is the goal of the Recreation Department to offer a balanced program ensuring all elements are offered to all age groups throughout the year. This is a part-time position. Hours will range from 20-37 hours per week.

SALARY 

The anticipated hiring range for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Supervisor position is $95,985 - $119,982 annually, with a full salary range up to $143,978. The City typically makes offers within the hiring range based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

DESCRIPTION 

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a hands-on and technically proficient Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Supervisor to support operations at the Hill Canyon Treatment Plant (HCTP), a 24-hour, Class V advanced tertiary wastewater treatment facility with a 14-million-gallon-per-day capacity that treats an average of eight million gallons of wastewater daily from domestic commercial, and industrial sources. HCTP employs a wide range of sophisticated technologies, including a SCADA system, complex mechanical process equipment, analytical instrumentation and meters, industrial electronic control systems, and power distribution infrastructure.  

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance of this diverse and critical equipment, including on-site power generation systems such as biogas-fueled cogeneration and photovoltaic solar array that offsets the facility’s energy use. Treated effluent is produced to an advanced tertiary level and reused for agricultural and landscape irrigation, while biosolids are managed and hauled off-site for composting. This role requires strong leadership, sound technical judgment, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a highly regulated, continuously operating environment, while ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant plant operations.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the work of assigned staff; develops, implements, and monitors work plans, processes, systems, and procedures to achieve established goals, objectives, and performance standards.  

• Plans, directs, and evaluates employee performance; establishes performance expectations and development goals; provides regular coaching and feedback; and recommends recognition or corrective action, consistent with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations. 

• Participates in the recruitment and selection of maintenance staff; coordinates and provides staff training; and works with employees to address performance or skill deficiencies.  

• Establishes schedules and methods for providing plant maintenance services; identifies staffing, equipment, and material needs; and allocates resources accordingly. 

• Provides leadership to ensure a high-performance, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment aligned with departmental and City goals.  

• Participates in budget development; forecasts funding needs for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors expenditure; and recommends budget adjustments as needed. 

• Performs and oversees complex mechanical, electrical, and equipment maintenance and repair activities.  

• Oversees and supports the maintenance, reliability, and performance of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, including coordination with control technologies, operators, and IT staff to ensure system availability, alarm functionality, and integration with plant equipment and processes.  

• Monitors SCADA system trends, alarms, and performance data to identify equipment issues, support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensure timely response to system or equipment anomalies that may impact plant operations.   

• Monitors work sites to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures; responds to and resolves complex operational or equipment-related issues. 

• Inspects work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with City standards, regulations, and operating procedures.  

• Serves as technical liaison with contractors, consultants, and engineers on mechanical and maintenance-related projects. 

• Maintains inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and supplies required for efficient plant maintenance operations.  

• Operates motorized equipment as required and performs physical and hand-on maintenance work in support of plant operations. 

• Prepares and maintains operational records, reports, and documentation related to maintenance activities.  

• Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices through training and professional development.

The Case Management Nurse -Utilization Review will manage patient admission and ongoing stay reviews for patients with chronic or complicated medical conditions and oversee appeals with third-party payors. The incumbent will be responsible for retrospective and concurrent Utilization Review activities and for monitoring order status accuracy, documentation, and clinical compliance, in accordance with State and Federal regulations. In conjunction with other members of the health care team, the Case Management Nurse is accountable for timely coordination of quality health care services to meet the patient's health care needs across the continuum of care. This position requires knowledge of the adult, and geriatric populations.
 
The ideal candidate will possess one or more of the following:

• At least two years of recent, direct, and proven experience in Nurse Case Management in an acute care setting or at least two years of acute care hospital nursing experience. 
• At least two years of experience with industry published standard level of care (i.e. InterQual or Milliman, etc.).
• InterQual interpretation and application of health industry utilization review criteria
• Experience providing the full range of Case Management nursing duties and responsibilities
• Ability to conduct daily Utilization Reviews to assess whether patients meet medical necessity criteria
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams to collaborate on appropriate level of care based on Utilization Review outcomes
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.

Examples Of Duties

• Resolve unusual or unique patient care problems or situations, which require analytical, interpretative and constructive thinking.
• Formulate and develop plans, procedures and program content designed to meet specifically identified training/educational needs of nursing staff.
• Formulate, and/or collaborate with other health care practitioners to identify relevant clinical problems and conduct research to bring about their resolution.

Summary:

Employees receive moderate supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures and may be assigned to work in different areas throughout the District, including grounds, custodial and open space.

The City of Simi Valley is seeking a highly skilled and motivated SCADA Systems Analyst to join our Sanitation and Waterworks Divisions. This critical role will coordinate and manage SCADA systems that support essential public utility operations, including waterworks, sanitation, and related infrastructure services. Rewarding aspects of the job: Your work will have a direct impact on the execution of food service operations to Incarcerated Persons within the two correctional facilities, the Youth Services Center-Probation and Staff. Challenging aspects of the job: As a Food Service Worker within the Sheriff’s Office, you will be working in a restrictive environment inside a correctional facility that serves the incarcerated population. You must be able to handle multiple duties at one time, meet tight deadlines, drive a large truck, trouble shoot issues that arise, work independently, and ensure careful delivery of meals between correctional facilities.
   
The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Food Handling Skills: One year of experience preparing and serving food. Possession of a valid ServSafe Food Handler Certification from the National Restaurant Association.
• Food Safety and Sanitation: Demonstrated understanding and adherence to proper food handling, hygiene, and safety protocols. Awareness of the general food safety and sanitation codes and standards.
• Time Management: Efficiently manage time to coordinate the preparation and cooking of multiple dishes simultaneously. Prioritize tasks in alignment with established procedures and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines while following protocols. Ability to be at your workstation on time.
• Customer Service: Prioritize and handle tasks that directly contribute to delivering excellent service throughout Food Service Unit operations. Ability to make decisions that lead to appropriate resolution of an issue. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and those outside the department.
• Teamwork: Collaboration with other food service staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
• Stress Management: Ability to handle high-pressure situations, such as changes in assignments and unexpected issues in a correctional food service environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in effectively using and navigating various computer systems, software applications, and technology tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and nutrition management.
• Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule as the Food Service Unit operates 7 days a week from 6:30 am to 7 pm year-round. This position may require you to work evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and/or other shift work.

Additionally, the ideal candidate for the Sheriff’s Office will possess a California Class C or Class A license, have a clean driving record, and be comfortable working alongside incarcerated individuals. Fluency in Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian (speak, read, write) is highly desired but not required.
  
Candidates chosen for these positions must successfully pass a background investigation in order to work in a locked facility around incarcerated persons. Felony and misdemeanor convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency.  
   
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office currently has one regular full-time vacancies with additional vacancies expected. The appointment may be made at either the Food Service Worker I or II level, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate(s) and the needs of the department.
  
As a Food Service Worker with the Sheriff’s Office you will be responsible for:

• Directing the work of incarcerated individuals who are assigned to clean and prepare food or assist in related routine tasks defined by supervisors at specific facilities assisting Cooks in the preparation of meals.
• Driving a large or small truck to deliver food and supplies and maintaining basic records related to vehicle use such as mileage and service reports.
• Preparing food for cooking by peeling, cutting, or slicing.
• Preparing salads, sandwiches, beverages, and simple desserts.
• Setting up tray lines and/or individual trays.
• Maintaining safety and security of equipment and addressing issues that arise.
• Overseeing the activities of the dish room, including ensuring chemicals are ordered, monitoring the PH and temperatures of the equipment, and preparing daily items such as dishes, pots, pans, containers, carts, and equipment.
• Cleaning facilities including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas such as floors, storage spaces, trucks and emptying garbage cans.
• Assisting with deliverables including signing for, bringing in, and/or storing items.
• Performing basic office tasks such as answering phones, working with computers, and paperwork.
• Following Food Service Unit policy and procedures including arriving to work on time, submitting personal timecard and assisting in following up on requests in a timely matter.
• Performing related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Food Service Worker I ($30.86 - $34.47 / hourly) is the entry/trainee level position. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn a full range of Food Service Worker duties. As experience is gained there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. This classification is flexibly staffed with Food Service Worker II and incumbents may advance to the next level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiencies which meet the higher-level qualifications.
  
Food Service Worker II ($32.50 - $36.35 / hourly) is the journey level position. Under general supervision, incumbents independently perform a variety of responsible food service duties. Incumbents work under specified guidelines and supervisors are available in non-routine circumstances. Specific duties may vary from position to position.
 
Knowledge of:

• Basic kitchen cleaning and sanitation methods.
• Operation and care of kitchen equipment.
• Proper lifting techniques.

Skill/Ability to:

• Prepare simple foods and beverages.
• Interact cooperatively with others including staff, patients, inmates and members of the public.
• Work rapidly under pressure.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness.
