As a Building Plans Examiner, you’ll play a vital role in reviewing architectural plans and construction documents to ensure compliance with local and state codes—and contribute to safe, sustainable, and successful development throughout the County of Marin.

Minimum Qualifications:
Equivalent to completion of two years of college or technical school training with major course work related to the plan checking, the construction trades or a field related to the work and two years of experience in either reviewing plans for compliance with codes and ordinances or in inspecting a variety of structures for such compliance and conformance to plans and specifications. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Certificates and Licenses:
Consistent with California State law, certification by the International Code Council (ICC) or equivalent in plans examination, accessibility, or green building must be obtained within two years. Failure to obtain certification within two years may result in release from employment. Certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
 
Additional Requirements: Must complete a minimum of 45 hours of qualified continuing education in every three-year period with at least 8 hours regarding disability access requirements.

The Police Communications Dispatcher receives and processes routine and emergency calls. The incumbent will dispatch police and enter, retrieve, and use data from various automated law enforcement information systems. The successful candidate will coordinate with and transfer calls to other emergency service providers as appropriate. The individual will perform a variety of clerical and technical duties in support of the department’s operations. In addition, they will learn applicable policies, procedures, and work methods associated with assigned duties, and perform other related duties as required. This recruitment is to fill a full-time and per-diem position and create a list for anticipated future vacancies. We will be creating two lists, one for already POST-certified dispatchers and one for entry-level dispatchers.

The Town of San Anselmo is seeking a motivated Administrative / Permit Services Technician to support the Community Development Department. This mid-level classification performs a wide range of technical and administrative duties with a high degree of independence, primarily in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

This hands-on position serves as a primary point of contact at the public counter and requires significant daily interaction with residents, contractors, and other stakeholders. There is currently one (1) full-time, regular hire Civil Engineer (Engineering) vacancy.

The Senior Civil Engineer (CE) plans, manages, and coordinates the engineering program. Using broad parameters of departmental policy guidelines, this position exercises substantial initiative, judgment, and expertise to meet program and project outcomes. The Senior Civil Engineer creates the scope on large civil engineering projects with complex budgets and timelines, integrating numerous elements that significant stakeholder involvement and sensitivity. This position provides direction and mentorship to more junior staff and oversees both technical and administrative work performed by their staff and ensures that projects are completed efficiently and effectively for the public good. Informing the public and Board of Supervisors, selecting consultants, preparing contract documents, reviewing project plans and specifications prepared by consultants, and administering contracts during construction are performed by the Senior Civil Engineer.

Signing bonus:

In addition to a competitive compensations package, new, full-time, regular hire Senior Civil Engineer are eligible to receive a $10,000.00 signing bonus which will be split into two equal payments: 50% at time of hire (i.e. first paycheck) and the remaining 50% after successful completion of their probationary period.

The Skywalker Fire Brigade Fire Chief (FC) position will supervise, lead, and train the Skywalker Fire Brigade (Department). This is a management position for 9 employees that staffs one private fire station and has the opportunity to build and direct a motivated staff of firefighters. The Fire Chief will oversee three duty Captains and their projects, providing guidance and leadership for the organization. The Fire Chief will oversee daily schedules with regard to standard prevention activities, training, and special events. Oversee fire prevention inspections, lead vegetation management projects including pile burning, shaded fuel breaks, and interact with the property insurance agent and facilities manager for future projects. The Chief will represent the Skywalker Fire Brigade during county-wide meetings for Operations and Training. Skywalker Fire employees provide an extraordinary level of customer service and hospitality to Skywalker Properties' clientele. While this role operates within a Brigade fire department, the position itself is mostly comprised of prevention and training. Schedule:

This position will work a semi-flexible 40hr work week as to oversee and manage 3 shifts who are on a 48/96 work schedule. The Ideal Candidate

Work Schedule: This is a 20-24-hour per week position. The regular work schedule is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; weekend work may be occasionally required. This position is limited to up to 1000 hours per year. However, employment might end sooner, depending on the needs of the hiring department. Extra-help positions are paid hourly and are not guaranteed permanent status at the end of the extra-help assignment.

The Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department depends on reliable technology for public safety, investigations, communications, and record-keeping. As the Information Technology Systems Administrator, your work will directly contribute to the safety of our residents and the efficiency of our public services by making sure all systems are stable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices, state and federal data security requirements, and Town policies. You will serve as the cloud security officer for the Police Department and help maintain the Town’s IT infrastructure and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), as needed.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
