Key Responsibilities:
The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for Senior Lifeguards for our fantastic swim lesson and aquatic programs and the upcoming to work at the year-round Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center. We are looking for positive, patient, motivated, self-driven individuals that have a passion for working in aquatics and with children, who wish to make a difference in a child's life by teaching them lifelong water skills! Swimming experience is required. Additional program training will be provided once hired.
The Waterpark EMT is responsible for responding to emergencies and providing efficient and immediate care to the critically ill/injured at Adventure Waterpark. In addition, The EMT provides security services as needed. The EMT is expected to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

Please note that this position requires you to work in an indoor aquatic environment subject to warm/humid temperatures.
- Receives emergency and non-emergency calls from the public, private companies and other jurisdictions.
- Dispatches police and fire personnel or other City services in response to such calls.
- Relays emergency and non-emergency information to public safety personnel in the field.
- Relays information to other agencies as required.
- Monitors multiple frequencies.
- Maintains accurate record of location and status of public safety units.
- Operates a manual dispatch system when necessary.

Compensation:
Police Officer Trainee: $6,668.53 - $6,997.47 monthly
Police Officer: $9,113.87 - $10,998.00 monthly

*Effective the first full pay periods following 1/1/2025, a 3% Cost of Living increase and up to 4% equity adjustment will be applied to the hourly wage for the Police Officer Lateral position (totaling 14% in two years). *The listed salary does not include an additional 17.5% in potential incentive pay upon completion of FTO or a projected 14% raise paid over the next two years*
THE POSITION:
