After School Program Technician I's work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist II. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19-29 hours per week.

The Position: Under general supervision, this position involves organizing, leading, and coordinating a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational and educational activities for an Afterschool Program. This role is classified as Temporary Part-Time to support both seasonal and year-round recreational programs.

On April 29, 2025, Suisun City Council approved a new contract between the Suisun City RPM Department and the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD). This agreement expands after school programming to include to grades TK-5 at Dan O. Root Elementary and Crescent Elementary Schools, making the Suisun City RPM Department the sole provider of after school services at both locations. This is a significant milestone for the RPM department and a reflection of the quality and dedication of our team.  We are excited to continue providing high-quality programs for our community's youth.

This job entails setting up for events and rentals, opening and closing facilities, general janitorial services, sports field preparation, working in concessions and selling food during sports games. SPECIAL PAY INCENTIVES:

• POST CERTIFICATE PAY – Additional 2% pay for Basic POST, 5% for Intermediate POST, and 5% for Advanced POST certificates

THE POSITION: Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant or other supervisory/management staff, performs a variety of duties related to the protection of public health, safety, and welfare and the enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws; provides traffic enforcement and control; and carries out special assignments in a particular phase of police work. • Responds to calls for the protection of life and property, the enforcement of laws and ordinances, general public service calls, and complaints including those involving automobile accidents, traffic hazards, misdemeanor and felony incidents, domestic disturbances, health code and local ordinance violations, property control, civil complaints, and related incidents; responds to and provides assistance at a variety of public service type calls that are non-criminal in nature.
• Conducts initial and follow-up investigations at scenes of incidents to which summoned or observed; determines what, if any, crime has been committed; collects, preserves, processes, photographs, and books evidence; locates and interviews victims and witnesses; identifies and interrogates suspects. • Prepares and serves search and arrest warrants; apprehends and arrests offenders for crimes committed under federal, state, and local laws and codes; controls and mitigates people under the influence of drugs or alcohol or other potentially hostile situations.

Definition 

Under direction of the Community Development Director, to provide basic professional level planning services in the areas of current planning and advanced planning, and to do other related work as required. 

Class Characteristics 

This is the entry-level class in the professional Planner series. This class is distinguished from the Associate Planner by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned. These positions receive general supervision from higher level professional and managerial staff.

Examples of Duties

THE POSITION

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities.  A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skill and ability outlined  in the job spec is:  

• Completion of 15 units in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related coursework, AND 
• At least three (3) years of teaching experience in a child care center or comparable group child care program.
• An Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related field may substitute for one year of experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related field may substitute for two years of experience. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates must meet all qualifications in accordance with current legal and regulatory requirements for working with children in the age group in their program.
• Must be willing to work the hours (work schedule) required for the assigned Center.
• Prefer possession of a valid California Driver's license.

Definition 

Under general supervision, the Code Enforcement Officer I/II position primarily performs residential, commercial, and industrial site inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with City Municipal Codes and regulations in the areas of housing, zoning, development, and signage codes; investigates citizen complaints of public nuisances, quality of life, and health and safety issues; seeks voluntary compliance or issues citations; and performs related duties as assigned.

Class Characteristics 

Code Enforcement Officer I: This is the entry-level classification in the Code Enforcement Officer series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine and less complex assignments, while learning City policies and procedures. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult; there is greater independence and less supervision within the established guidelines. Positions at this level usually perform most of the duties required of the Code Enforcement Officer II – level but are not expected to function at the same skill level and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgement in matters related to work procedures and methods. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

Examples of Duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Receives and responds to complaints regarding violations of zoning, housing, dangerous building and property maintenance codes, abandoned or inoperative vehicles, debris, unsanitary conditions, overgrown vegetation, signage, and other municipal code violations.
• Investigates possible violations, photographs evidence, and communicates with responsible persons via telephone, in person, or in writing; interprets codes and regulations and explains inspection procedures and regulations to involved parties.
