This program is a beginner-level course that covers Lifeguard Training, Water Park Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Swim Lesson Instruction, and center-specific training. • Set up and take down tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, and other related material and equipment.

The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for Lifeguards for our fantastic swim lessons and aquatic programs at the Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center. • Acting immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency/Providing emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
• Performing various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
• Having a thorough knowledge of rescue techniques

This is a non-sworn, civilian training classification to be used while incumbent is attending a certified P.O.S.T. Basic Police Academy.  Incumbent in this classification receives the same employee benefits as Police Officers, with the exception of being placed in the “Miscellaneous” retirement category until successful completion of a designated police academy, and as a civilian employee, will not be covered by government code sections 4850 and 3300 through 3311.  Upon successful completion of an academy, incumbent shall be sworn as a Police Officer, placed in the safety retirement category and begin an 18-month probationary period as a Police Officer on the date of swearing in.

Compensation:

Police Officer Trainee:   $6,668.53 - $6,997.47 monthly

THE POSITION:  This is a trainee level classification which provides transition into the position of Police Officer.  A Police Officer Trainee is hired into this civilian position for the period prior to and during the time they are assigned to a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified police academy.  The police academy has an expected duration of approximately 6 months.  Upon successful completion of training at an academy and upon the availability of a Police Officer position, Police Officer Trainees are sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer.  The Police Officer Trainee is represented by SEIU Local 1021 and benefits are limited to those of a civilian employee.

THE POSITION:

THE POSITION: 

The City of San Rafael is recruiting for a Police Officer. THE POSITION:

Under general supervision from the Communications Supervisor, the Communications Operator operates a computer aided dispatch system receiving calls and dispatching police, fire or other City services.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is a journey technical level position in which incumbents are expected to independently perform the full range of duties assigned. This class is distinguished from the Communications Supervisor in that the latter provides technical and functional supervision over assigned communication personnel.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Communications Center in the Support Services Division of the Hayward Police Department is responsible for dispatching both Police and Fire Services throughout the City of Hayward. The Hayward Police Department is one of 18 CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement) accredited police departments in California and is committed to maintaining CALEA's high standards and broadly recognized excellence.
The Communications Center is frequently the first point of contact that a member of the public will have when requesting assistance from the City of Hayward. The information gathered by the communications operator during this contact is critical to a positive outcome. Minimum Qualifications

LATERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a public safety dispatcher for a Public Safety Answering Point, including heavy public contact while performing multiple tasks and using a computer-aided dispatch system.

Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.

Licenses and Certificates: Completion of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Public Safety Dispatcher course is highly desirable.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Typing Certificate: A typing certificate with 35 net words per minute 

1. Certificates will be accepted from a public school, business school or temporary agency; certificates from Internet testing services and/or home computer CD testing will NOT be accepted.
2. Typing certificate (or signed statement on official letterhead from the testing agency) must be dated no earlier than six (6) months prior to the date of the application filing.
3. Typing certificate (or signed letter) must state all of the following information:

· Five (5)-minute timed typing test.
· Gross typing speed in words per minute.
· Gross number of errors.
· Net words per minute

The Marinwood Community Services District Fire Department is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Firefighter-Paramedic.  The eligibility list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies.  There is currently one (1) positions available for immediate appointment.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Marinwood Fire Department operates as a single station all-risk Advanced Life Support (ALS) engine company that includes nine (9) professional firefighters trained in areas of firefighting, ALS/BLS emergency response, technical rescue, disaster response, fire prevention, and community preparedness.  The department works closely with the City of San Rafael Fire Department under an existing Shared Services Agreement.  This includes San Rafael Fire Department providing all chief officer services, ambulance services, and joint training programs.  Our mission is to partner with our community to proactively reduce risk from fire, illness, injury and other hazards.
