The City of San Bruno Fire Department offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a Fire Cadet. Our one-year Fire Cadet program is an unpaid, volunteer work experience program that offers hands-on training, and introductory knowledge of firefighting skills, fire service tools and equipment. Cadets respond to emergency calls, render Basic Life Support and participate in training, and participate in the daily station duties.

 

Cadets must be willing to commit to 24-hour shifts, two to four times per month. The cadet program is one year in length. Upon completion, this program meets the manipulative training and experience requirements in obtaining a California State Fire Marshal’s Office Firefighter II certification.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• State of California EMT or National Registry EMT certification
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a driving record with minimal violations
• Possession of a Firefighter I Academy certification (or proof of “student in good standing” letter signed by an Academy Instructor if currently enrolled)
• 18 years of age at the time of application

POSITION:

• Assists patrons in locating and using library materials and equipment; explains library services, policies, and procedures; answers basic reference questions using online catalogs, indexes, and other bibliographic tools.
• Orders, receives, and processes library materials in all formats; maintains accurate acquisition and inventory records.
• Develops, presents, and/or supports library programs, community outreach activities, and informational displays.
• Performs general clerical tasks such as monitoring supplies, processing mail, handling payments, maintaining records, and managing files.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: One year of clerical or paraprofessional experience, preferably in a library, literacy, or educational setting.

Training: Equivalent to graduation from high school.

The Extra Help Employee - Senior Nutrition Driver position, under the direction of the Senior  Nutrition Manager, will be responsible for ensuring the orderly and timely delivery of daily meals and services to senior citizens.  The position requires the ability to plan, organize and coordinate the meal preparation and delivery and congregate services in a courteous manner. JOB DUTIES

• Responsible for the safe transport of meals following all food safety principles.  
• Accurately pack cold food transport containers with cold food and beverages and ice packs.

POSITION

Open and close facilities following established guidelines, set up equipment needed for facility programs, perform routine maintenance and clean up for assigned facilities, collect fees for facility use, maintain order and discipline in assigned facilities and programs by enforcing City and Departmental policies, may assist in assigned program areas, may supervise volunteers or court workers as assigned, and maintain accurate records and reports.  May include specific assignments such as cashiering, attending to locker rooms, aiding with swim instruction, staffing facilities used by the public, and assisting with recreational programming.  Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of: General facility operations, basic lesson instruction techniques for an assigned area, and safety practices for assigned programs.

This is a NEW program within the Marysville Fire Department.  The Marysville Fire Department is hiring continuously for twelve (12) Firefighter Reserves.  These positions will be funded for four (4) years through the SAFER Grant.  

For each 24 hour shift worked, you will receive $60 for food and mileage, that will be paid monthly in accordance with the City of Marysville's established pay schedule.  

San Mateo County Health- San Mateo Medical Center seeks well-qualified candidates for the position of Program Coordinator I in the Patient Access Division. The current vacancy is a full-time, limited term vacancy. The duration of the assignment will last about 6 months.

 

Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide support to over 150 Patient Services Assistants across various departments, including Emergency, Admitting, Long-Term Care, Same-Day Surgery, and will average 27 Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites with 8-16 hours of weekly program refresher training on several publicly sponsored coverage options.

 

Additionally, this position will assist the team with several EPIC post-go-live projects, and work queues as we work to revamp processes and enhance collaboration for improved workflows and revenue-generating process efficiencies.

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, management or a related field.
• Experience in using EPIC.
• Two years of professional level analytical and administrative experience in a community-related setting.

This is a limited term, at-will position.  Limited Term Employees are assigned to assignments not to exceed three years. They receive medical and dental benefits, similar to regular employees, and a defined contribution retirement plan. 

 

Examples Of Duties

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinates efforts between departments, clinics, and Ancillary Services to ensure timely release of claims.
• Serves as a liaison between the Patient Financial Department and Resource Management.
• Facilitate regularly scheduled and special meetings – prepare and distribute agendas and minutes from meetings.
• Maintain program billing and compliance records related to authorizations for Inpatient and Outpatient services.
• Prepare reports as needed for Patient Financial services, Resource Management, and Department of Health Services (DHCS).
• Manage and support activity related to the authorization and denial process.
• Educate and train team members regarding authorization requirements and denial mitigation.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of program area/option to which assigned.
• Principles and practices of effective customer/client relations.
• Principles and practices of working with and managing volunteers, if assigned to volunteer coordination.
• Technical procedures and requirements of program area/option to which assigned.
• Applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations and County and program policies and guidelines governing program area/option to which assigned.
• Principles, practices and techniques of administrative and programmatic research and analysis.
• Computer applications related to the work.
• Office administrative practices and procedures, including records management and the operation of standard office equipment.
• Funding sources, grants and fund-raising techniques, if assigned to Options 1 and 2.

Skill/Ability to:

• Analyze, interpret and apply various regulations and requirements.
• Plan, coordinate and implement administrative and programmatic research and analysis.
• Train staff in work procedures and provide technical and programmatic assistance to staff and subcontractors.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to qualify is:

Program Coordinator I: Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, management or a related field and two years of professional level analytical and administrative experience in a community-related setting.
