Electrician II is the journey level class in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment, working independently under general supervision.

Electricians are responsible for installing, maintaining , testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and operating high and low voltage/amperage electrical components, systems and equipment including locating problems; determining appropriate courses of action; and coordinating repairs with affected parties. They design, fabricate, and install electrical systems and components and install wiring and electrical equipment, ensuring code compliance. Duties may also include purchasing electrical supplies, including filling out paperwork; coordinating purchases; and, choosing vendors. They are responsible for responding to occasional emergencies, evaluating and taking required actions and determining if support is needed. Public Works electrician duties also include:

• M aintenance of pump stations (includes motor controls and PLC's and computerized alarm and monitoring of pumps, etc. ) ;

The City of Campbell's Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for Public Safety Dispatcher!

Under general supervision, to receive and transmit routine and emergency telephone, radio and computer messages; to keep a variety of police records; and to do related work as required.

Typical Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Answers all telephone calls promptly and courteously;
• Makes rapid and accurate determination of the nature of each call and the degree, severity, and location of any emergency;
• Refers non-emergency callers to the appropriate agency or other resource;
• Questions emergency callers to elicit complete and accurate information necessary for emergency response and enters information in the computer-aided dispatch system;
• Gather information using multiple audio and visual resources;

Hours of Work: Public Safety Dispatchers typically work 12 hours shifts, with 4 work days one week and 3 work days the following week.  Shifts available area a day and night shift, or variation, that can rotate every six months.  Dispatchers may have to work weekends, holidays and overtime. 

Special Conditions: Incumbents must have the ability to work, as assigned, on schedules that may include Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and non-traditional work hours; and a willingness to work overtime as required.

Other Requirements: Must be able to perform all the essential functions of the job assignment.  All candidates will be required to pass a City background investigation, which will include fingerprinting and may include polygraph and/or psychological testing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:

• Graduation from an accredited high school (GED may be substituted for a high school diploma); plus
• One year of successful full-time responsible experience performing work where the essential functions of the job involved public contact, computer usage or heavy telephone traffic.

The Senior Educational Facilities Planner (Sr. Planner) provides professional planning services that guide the physical development of the campus and assists in strategic development and improvement of buildings and space to support UCSC's mission of research, teaching, and public service. As a senior member of the unit, the Sr. Planner is the resident expert on campus and UC policy regarding capital matters, and provides assistance and support in all areas of planning for CPSM staff, campus leadership. They also act as liaison to the Office of Capital Planning at the UC Office of the President.

The Sr. Planner uses skills as a seasoned, experienced planning professional with a full understanding of industry practices and procedures to resolve a wide range of planning issues; uses advanced planning concepts and objectives to resolve highly complex issues; develops short and long range capital plans, demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for analyzing alternatives and recommending solutions; exhibits high levels of organization; recommends revisions to proceedures and policies to improve efficiency, and is able to operate with considerable independence.

The Sr. Planner provides high-level reports and analysis of campus space needs in an effort to ensure the efficient use of campus space; works with campus leadership and clients to provide in-depth programming, utilization and visioning studies for all types of campus space using a variety of planning tools: metrics, conceptual space plans, and test fit diagrams; coordinates with campus technical experts on the re-use of space; generates and manipulates large data sets, manages databases to comprehensively manage campus capital expenditures, leads and coordinates the annual updates to the multi-year Capital and Seismic Financial Plans, and generates analytics for capital planning, space management and capital outlay.

Capital Planning and Space Management (CPSM) is a unit within the Division of Business Administration (BAS.) The Division includes a broad and diverse set of operational units that provides and maintains administrative, student development and physical infrastructure that supports the mission of the campus. As a member of BAS, CPSM supports the Office of the Chancellor and Campus Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor in the areas of capital financial planning and policy analysis. In this capacity, CPSM develops and maintains relevant databases, provides analyses of policies and programs, assists in the determination of campus priorities, and in the development of strategies designed to achieve these priorities.
