THE POSITIONS

The following positions are flexibly staffed at the Librarian I/II or Lead Librarian level, depending on the candidate’s experience. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

• Youth Services - Librarian I, II, Lead: A dynamic, energetic, team-oriented full-time (38-hours per week) Librarian, to coordinate the library’s outreach and deliver innovative programs and services for children and families at the Downtown Library and throughout the community.
• Teen Services - Librarian I, II, Lead: A dynamic, energetic, team oriented full-time (38-hours per week) Librarian, to deliver innovative programs and services for teens with diverse backgrounds and abilities and to coordinate the library’s outreach to middle/high schools and throughout the community. 
• Adult Services - Librarian I, II, Lead: Seeking full-time Librarians (38-hours per week) with expertise in cataloging, collection development, programming for adults, outreach and exceptional customer service.

• Neighborhood Services  - Librarian I/II:  This position is flexibly staffed at the Librarian I/II level, depending on the candidate’s experience.  A dynamic, energetic, team oriented full-time (38-hours per week) Librarian I/II to deliver innovative services and programs for children, families and teens, at the family friendly Redwood  Shores Branch Library and Schaberg Branch Library. 

These positions will require work during the day, evenings and weekends. The mission of the Redwood City Public Library is to cultivate community and advance equity by welcoming all people to experience the shared joys of literacy and learning. These positions play a key role in advancing that mission by fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging for the diverse youth and adults in our community.

Example of Job Duties

• Advise and assist library customers; demonstrate the use of library catalogs and other library resources; refer customers to other appropriate agencies as needed.
• Provide customer service experience that strives for the highest level of satisfaction, by applying and using the Redwood City Public Library Active Customer Service Model.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services in such areas as youth, adult, and others; recommend program and procedure changes.
• Participate in library publicity and public relations activities; prepare exhibits for publicity.
• Guide customers to books or other Library materials to further their reading interest.
• Organize and maintain a variety of library materials.
• Classify and catalog library materials.
• Maintain and update library databases.
• Review appropriate sources and select materials for acquisition and/or deselection, as appropriate.
• Research and respond to difficult or technical information service questions
• Participate in department meetings and continuing education programs as appropriate.
• Attend and represent the Library at professional meetings as required.
• Perform outreach to the community, community organizations, and schools; inform residents and community organizations about library services, programs and collections.
• Respond to customer complaints and requests.
• Assist in selecting, supervising, training and evaluating assigned staff.
• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff involved in department
• Participate in budget preparation and administration; prepare cost estimates for budget recommendations; submit justifications for budget items; monitor and control expenditures.
• In the absence of a Lead Librarian, supervisor or manager, may be asked to perform in-charge duties related to Library operations and security for specified hours

We equip you with the skills to handle emergency & non-emergency calls, dispatch police officers, and operate advanced communication systems.

Starting Pay: $53,545/year ($25.74/hour) 

Promotion to Police Dispatcher: $60,507/year ($29.09/hour) 

Growth Potential: Up to $77,209/year ($37.12/hour)

Work-Life Balance

• 10-hour shifts (4 days a week)

• Rotations every four months

• Night, weekend, & holiday shifts may apply

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Additional specialized training in communications or a related field is desirable. 

Experience: Some emergency or non-emergency dispatch experience is desirable. 

License/Certificates: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Terminal Operator Certificate within one year of employment. 

Special Requirements: 

• Must be 18 years of age as of the date of hire
• United States citizen or meet citizenship requirements
• High School Diploma or GED
• Good moral character with no felony convictions

The County of San Mateo Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) seeks a Board eligible or Board certified Adult Psychiatrist to join the North County Behavioral Health Center in Daly City, California, to work with adult BHRS clients with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. This is a full-time position.

BHRS is a national leader in trauma-informed community mental health services, with a core commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as guiding principles by which we continuously evaluate and develop our system of care, with a significant, long-standing institutional dedication of both staff and resources to realizing these core goals for our clients, their families, and our BHRS staff. BHRS offers the opportunity to practice state-of-the-art psychiatry without third party intrusions, the ability to work with a diverse client group with severe mental illness, and the chance to participate in a team model. BHRS uses evidence-based treatment approaches in our system of care services, while seeking continuing improvement and development in the areas of cultural competence, integrated services for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use problems, and supportive housing. Excellent Benefits Package 
The position offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package which includes County funded malpractice insurance, pension plans and health benefits for retirees, 5% match into deferred comp, reimbursement of professional dues and expenses (up to $3,000/year), an additional 5% increase in salary for each qualifying Board certification up to two (2) Boards, administrative leave time at 5 hours per pay period up to 260 hours (this is prorated for part time employees) that can be used as time off or cashed out up to 50%, three days of Winter Recess (24 total hours) leave time, and a wellness program, including exercise classes, worksite massage, and an onsite gym. BHRS positions include a hybrid model of remote work, which may continue in the future.

The North County Behavioral Health Center serves multiple large cultural populations. We are also specifically seeking bicultural candidates and/or candidates who demonstrate cultural literacy, sensitivity, and a strong desire to work with Filipino, Latino, and/or Asian populations.

 

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include but are not limited to the following: 

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and make diagnoses.
• Prescribe appropriate treatment plans and prescribe therapy, psychotherapy, rehabilitation programs, and medications as needed.
• Medication management, including Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) as needed.
• Coordinate the work of consulting medical specialists.
• Act as physician member of a multi-disciplinary team for clinical work or program development.
• Train and supervise medical students, interns and residents.
• Provide clinical supervision to licensed and professional staff.
• Prepare reports and maintain records of activities.
• Conduct and direct individual and group psychotherapy.
• Consult and work with other medical and/or mental health professionals in the community when necessary.
• Confer with clients' relatives or loved ones regarding illness and treatment.
• Maintain electronic records of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis according to BHRS standards and other regulatory agencies.
• Develop comprehensive case histories.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Board Certification or completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.

Licensure/Certification:

• License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California.
• Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
