We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking professional to join our team as Facility Maintenance Manager and lead our dynamic citywide facility maintenance program. In this pivotal role, you’ll work collaboratively with City staff, contractors, community partners, and public facility users with tact, discretion, and professionalism in every interaction. As our Facilities Maintenance Manager, you’ll take the helm in planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing both staff and operations of the Facilities Maintenance Division. Your strategic vision will drive long- and short-term project planning while you oversee the maintenance and repairs of municipal facilities. You’ll spearhead the development and maintenance of comprehensive asset management programs; optimize division resources to boost organizational productivity and customer service and serve as the go-to expert providing complex and strategic support in areas of expertise; and perform related work as required.

This dynamic management position empowers you to shape, evaluate, and elevate all programs, services, and activities within the Facilities Maintenance Division. You’ll lead the charge in delivering comprehensive facility maintenance and improvements, craft and implement forward thinking policies and procedures for assigned programs and oversee budget administration and asset management systems. Overview:

The Plant/Pipeline Mechanical Technician II will perform maintenance and repair functions on industrial equipment used in water treatment, recycled water, water purification plants, pumping stations, and hydroelectric plants. This position will also work on related mechanical equipment components used for water treatment, storage, distribution, and flood control. They will be required to perform maintenance and repair duties on water conduits and equipment. As well as performing a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. This position will be assigned to work at one of Valley Water’s three water treatment plants in Santa Clara County and can be assigned to work rotating on-call weekends after approximately 1-2 years.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on domestic treated water, recycled water purification, pipeline systems; maintain water conduits and equipment including vacuum breakers, air releases, and water valves; perform confined space related duties.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications; estimate labor and materials for proposed work, perform work in accordance with these documents; make preliminary sketches of work to be performed or completed; locate, examine, clarify, identify, record and mark locations of creeks, pipelines, telemetry, test cables, and underground cables. 
• Diagnose mechanical problems; recommend preventative or corrective repair; make estimates of labor, materials, and supplies required to complete assigned work; request required materials.
• Maintain records of work performed; enter and retrieve data from a Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS); ensure proper completion of reports including confined entry documentation.
• Operate a variety of hand tools and power equipment including welding equipment, lathes, drill presses, sanders, trucks, forklifts, boom lift, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes.

Ideal Experience:

One (1) year of post-apprenticeship experience in the maintenance of mechanical equipment and components. In lieu of completing an apprenticeship, a candidate should possess four (4) years of journey-level experience in the maintenance of mechanical equipment and components.

Ideal Skills and Abilities:

• Operate a variety of mechanical maintenance equipment.
• Read, interpret, and work from plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Procedures to maintain records of work performed.
• Diagnose operational problems in mechanical equipment and recommend corrective action.
• Perform the most complex maintenance and repair functions on District water treatment and distribution systems.
• Perform mechanical maintenance on pipelines, equipment in pumping stations, hydroelectric plants, and water treatment plants.
• Estimate labor and materials required to correct mechanical problems.
• Prepare clear and concise reports.
• Use common desktop applications and software.

Ideal Knowledge:

• Methods and techniques involved in the maintenance and repair of water treatment and distribution and systems including pumps, valves, gauges, and chemical feeds.
• Operations, services, and activities of a mechanical maintenance program.
• Operational characteristics of mechanical maintenance equipment and tools.
• Operational methods and techniques associated with water treatment process.
• Occupational hazards and standard safety practices including Cal OSHA practices.

Ideal Training and Education:

Must have equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Treatment Plant Maintenance Unit (Position Code 235)
Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to work within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.  

This position requires the individual to be onsite and is typically not a teleworking position.

The City of Dixon is currently hiring for one (1) full-time position of Senior Maintenance Worker in the Parks Division of the Public Works Department. This recruitment process will also be used to create an eligibility list for future vacancies in other divisions, including streets, buildings, or streetscapes.  Candidates who apply will be considered for the current opening in Parks, and may also be contacted for future openings in other divisions as they arise.  

This position organizes, assigns and reviews the work of assigned personnel engaged in semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of City’s parks, buildings, streets, storm drain ponds and related facilities; performs duties requiring specialized knowledge; and provides support to assigned supervisor.

PARKS
Performs semi-skilled and skilled repair, maintenance and landscaping tasks involving City parks including irrigation system installation and maintenance; conducts playground equipment inspection, maintenance and installation; performs graffiti removal; maintains swimming pools; performs pesticide, herbicide and fungicide spraying; tree and bush trimming to avoid pedestrian traffic, obstruction of traffic signs and line-of-sight; cleans and maintains park facilities, buildings and associated facilities; oversees and coordinates the work of contractors as it relates to park and streetscapes maintenance and construction. Positions operate equipment which include, but are not limited to, mowers, spray rigs, electric, air and hydraulic powered hand tools, hedge-shears, blowers, weed eaters, backhoes, trenchers, lift buckets, scrapers, chain saws, chippers and other heavy equipment.

About the Position:  The Farm Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and construction tasks at Deer Hollow Farm in the Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Deer Hollow Farm is an educational, working farm with cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, and other livestock.  Duties include performing maintenance and construction tasks using hand and power tools, operating and maintaining Farm vehicles, and assisting with daily Farm operations. Working Conditions:

Education & Experience:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by college-level coursework in facilities management, construction project management, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in construction, maintenance, and/or repair of farm properties and related facilities.

Licenses & Certifications Required:  

• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within six (6) months of employment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Completion of an approved apprenticeship program

Experience: 2 years of lead electrician experience as a journey level Electrician.

Acceptable Substitution: Documented proof of completion of 8,500 hours of both course work and experience in all of the areas covered in the State of California Electrician Apprenticeship Standards may be substituted for completion of a recognized Electrician Apprenticeship program. These areas include residential wiring, commercial and industrial wiring, intercom and signals, controls, underground work, trouble shooting, finishing and fixture hanging, solid state controls, and stock and inventory. Completion of the State of California Electrician Certification exam will be accepted as proof of completion of 8,500 hours of electrical work experience.

Certifications/Licenses: Possession of a valid State of California driver’s license.

Work Environment: This position reports to the Land Stewardship & Trails Manager and will be assigned to a field office. The Area Manager works in an office setting primarily, and will attend various meetings and visit District field sites, which may require hiking through steep terrain and wildland areas and driving in remote areas on dirt roads.  Employee may be exposed to blood and body fluids when rendering First Aid and CPR. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 100 pounds, or heavier weights, with the use of proper equipment. Current work schedule is on site Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., recurring 9/80 Monday day off.

Education and Experience:  Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:   

Education: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, with major coursework in park administration, resource management, natural sciences, or a related field.

Experience: Five (5) years increasingly responsible experience in the protection, operation, or maintenance of parks, open space, forests, or public recreation areas and/or related facilities including two (2) years of supervisory or administrative responsibility.

Licenses & Certifications Required:    

• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License;
• Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid First Responder or equivalent certificate
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, the level of certification in the Incident Command System Courses as specified under the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a District approved Fire Suppression Training certification.

To respond to fire alarms, medical emergency, and other emergency activities in the protection of life and property; and to participate in fire prevention, training and station and equipment maintenance activities.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Woodland Fire Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The following are typical illustrations of duties encompassed by the job class, not an all-inclusive or limiting list:

Respond to fire alarms with assigned company; lay and connect hose lines; hold nozzles and direct water streams; raise and climb ladders.  Perform rescue operations in a variety of situations including but not limited to rescuing persons from areas threatened by fire, hazardous conditions, confined space, and active shooter/rescue task force events.  Provide basic life support during medical incidents, assessing and initiating patient care until relieved by proper medical personnel. Operate all types of portable fire extinguishers, hand tools, hose lines, power tools and appliances, salvage covers, forcible entry tools, emergency medical equipment and other rescue equipment. Participate in fire drills; serve as instructor as assigned; attend training sessions. Promote and maintain safety in the workplace. Work cooperatively with others as integral part of a team.  Follow chain of command and be responsive to orders.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position, in that Employee must be present and fit for duty.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Respond to hazardous materials incidents and participate as member of the County Hazardous Materials Team. Shut down natural gas and electrical services to structure.  Participate in fire inspection activities and other fire prevention, community risk reduction, and public education activities as assigned.  Ensure that businesses are operating in compliance with the fire code. Participate in the programs providing various public relations services, including facility tours, public education seminars and other public events.  Respond to inquiries from the public.  Assist in investigating fire origin and cause.  May be requested to respond to emergencies during non-duty hours.  Control traffic.  Inventory supplies; maintain records. Can serve as “acting positions” when certified.  Clean station quarters and equipment and maintain a clean and orderly condition in and about the fire station; perform minor building maintenance.  Operate radio and communications equipment.  Assist in overhaul and salvage operations.  Learn a wide variety of firefighting duties, methods, and procedures including the operation of firefighting apparatus, equipment, and tools.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidates hired shall refrain from the use of all tobacco products during the term of their employment with the City, including smokeless tobacco products.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent.  College-level coursework in fire science, general management, or related field is desirable. Proof of completion of a Firefighter Academy may be required. 

Experience: 

Any experience that would likely provide the required ability is qualifying; firefighting experience is desirable.

 License or Certificate:

• Proof of valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (valid for one year from issuance date).
• Proof of validated written test completion given by recognized institution such as Fire Candidate Training Center (FCTC), the City of Woodland, or another accepted agency may be required.  

Required Upon Hire and Continued Employment:

• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License
• Emergency Medical Technician Certificate
• Valid CPR certification.

Current Salary:                    
$6,022.68 per month ($2,779.70 bi-weekly).  Upon successful completion of the Fire Academy, candidate eligible for salary increase to $6,691.85 per month ($3,088.55 bi-weekly)

Retirement:                          
CalPERS Retirement System (3% @ 50 Formula for Classic CalPERS members and 2.7% @ 57 Formula for new CalPERS members).  The City does not participate in social security

Deferred Compensation:                   
Choice of deferred compensation plans (Traditional and Roth).  After successful completion of probation, new hires are also eligible for a 2% City Contribution.

Medical:                                
CalPERS Medical Insurance Plans, including HMOs & PPOs.  City gives an allowance toward the cost of insurance.  Maximum Family Allowance for 2025 is $2,752.96 per month

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking two Senior Applications Analysts in the Information Technology Department. These positions are intended for support and enhancements of our Oracle Cloud ERP & HCM applications. In addition the positions will assume primary and secondary support roles for multiple enterprise systems including system configuration, reporting and interfaces, day-to-day operational issues, break/fix, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and on-call rotations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with supporting HCM or Financial systems, preferably an integrated ERP/HCM system, ideally Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.  Our Oracle Cloud ERP modules include General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Procure to Pay, Inventory Management, Accounts Receivable and Project Portfolio Management, and HCM includes Core HR, Benefits, Absence, Time and Labor and Payroll; the position will provide a strong techno-functional foundation to other team members.  The candidate we seek will be detail-oriented, able to create and edit documentation, and understand technical complexities involved in functional configuration, integration, interface, and report development with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with end users.

Work Schedule: The position is eligible for Telework, up to 2 days per week, after a 6-month mandatory onsite work schedule.  The Telework schedule is subject to approval from the department head as permitted by City policy and practice.
