The Dispatcher II acts as the Department’s primary dispatcher, receiving and relaying incoming calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance; dispatching police units; operating a variety of telecommunications equipment including radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch systems; status monitoring, records and file maintenance in a computer-aided environment; and entry level dispatch training.
The City of Newark is seeking an experienced skateboarding instructor who can connect with participants of all ages, especially youth and teens. The Recreation Instructor will be responsible for the planning and implementation of skateboarding classes to be held at Mel Nunes Skatepark in Newark. Responsibilities include teaching fundamental techniques, promoting safety, and creating an encouraging environment where participants can build confidence and have fun while learning to skate.

THE POSITIONS
Under direct supervision, the Public Service Assistant II will perform litter/trash pick-up, barbeque maintenance, leaf/debris pick-up, and miscellaneous park duties in Central Park and other community parks. The Public Service Assistant II will also perform related duties as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE
The Pool Tech is an hourly employee of the Parks & Recreation Department. The Pool Tech's primary responsibility is the maintenance of on-site recreation facilities at the Aqua Adventure Water Park and the safe operation of all rides. This responsibility includes water testing, writing reports, pool cleaning, general facility cleaning, public assistance and public education. The Pool Tech is expected to work evenings, weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for Senior Lifeguards for our fantastic swim lesson and aquatic programs and the upcoming to work at the year-round Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center. We are looking for positive, patient, motivated, self-driven individuals that have a passion for working in aquatics and with children, who wish to make a difference in a child's life by teaching them lifelong water skills! Swimming experience is required. Additional program training will be provided once hired.

The City of Newark is seeking an experienced water aerobics instructor with the ability to work with all ages, including but not limited to those over the age of 55. The Recreation Instructor will be responsible for the implementation and planning of water aerobics course to be held at the George M Silliman Community Activity Center.

The Waterpark Deck Crew provides custodial maintenance and supervision of the Waterpark before, during, and after Waterpark operations. Work hours may vary but will often be mornings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
